BB will attempt a fake second house

Vote to save Tyson!!!!!!!

Update: There’s a second “house” but it’s filled with actors, and isn’t located at Dreamworld. More info here.

Is there a second house? In a post on the official website last night, everyone’s despised marketing ploy Little Sister snuck in a comment suggesting a second Big Brother house is about to be introduced:

“Oh, one last thing… remember that “is there only ONE Big Brother House” thing on the Launch Show? Sunday would be a really good time to stay on the couch. Just sayin’. Whoops BB – did I say too much?”

Well soz to ruin all the fun Lil Sis’ but there’s no second house. The previously leaked house blueprints and recent aerial photography of the complex show this. (The area to the left is the Captain’s Quarters).

House from the air

So what’s going to happen? Big Brother will fake the second house. Before last Sunday’s eviction began broadcasting live, the auditorium audience were handed signs to hold by Big Brother staff. The signs included phrases like:

  • Save house number 1
  • House two rules
  • Tyson is hot
  • Paige <3

Half the audience was told to chant “house one” and the other half “house two”.

The crowd was filmed and the footage will be played into the house next Sunday to attempt to fool the housemates. Whether they’ll actually be tricked is another story – BB has never shown the housemates footage of the crowd so far so it may look like an obvious attempt.

It is similar to the “fake week” twist used on Big Brother UK in 2007. During fake week the British producers flew a plane over the house with a trailing sign which read “There’s another house”. They also introduced an actor who pretended they were recently evicted from Australian Big Brother.

Finally there’s a small chance either Bradley, Ryan or Benjamin will be “evicted” to another room of the house (the “second house”), most likely the Utility Room which was used as the parlour and man cave. It has a toilet attached and a housemate could live there for a short while.

Will the housemates fall for it? Leave a comment below or join us on our unofficial forums!

Learn more about the nominees…

... by stalking their online profiles

Big Brother may have asked housemates to secure their Facebook accounts before going into lockdown, but they forgot to mention the the hundreds of other social networking sites on the internet. Our forum users have done some sleuthing and found some not-so-official information on the housemates.

We thought we’d start with this week’s three nominees. We’ll have details on more housemates later this week.

Early eviction odds: bye bye Ryan

Can't get by on looks alone

Ryan looking sleazyEveryone’s initial guess that Benjamin’s water throwing incident would mark him for eviction has taken a turn, with betting agencies now putting odds on Ryan to go.

At the time of writing, Centrebet’s eviction odds are:

  • Ryan 2.00
  • Benjamin 2.60
  • Bradley 3.60

Charne’s kind words towards Benjamin during Sunday night’s eviction could be one of the reasons why the water incident (which we refuse to call “water gate”) hasn’t resulted in such a negative response towards Ben.

Interestingly, Bradley’s odds for winning the series have taken a dip. He’s now trailing behind Michael, Josh, George and Stacey.

The least likely to win the series is Estelle.

  • Michael 5.00
  • Josh 5.50
  • George 7.00
  • Stacey 8.00
  • Bradley 9.00
  • Ray 10.00
  • Sarah 11.00
  • Zoe 13.00
  • Layla 13.00
  • Benjamin 15.00
  • Angie 17.00
  • Ryan 21.00
  • Estelle 26.00

No room for Big Brother in 2013?

Nine have already committed to non stop Block

While media commentators, hardcore fans and show producers watch closely for signs that Big Brother 2012 will spark a revival of the series, they might be overlooking one critical thing: there might not be room for Big Brother in Channel Nine’s 2013 schedule.

Nine have already committed to two seasons of The Block in 2013 – one regular and one “all stars” season. The Block takes up Big Brother’s daily 7pm slot and almost mirrors the weeknight update and Sunday eviction/judgement format.

All three programs must fit into the 40 week ratings period adopted by the commercial networks for their big budget shows. In 2013 the ratings period begins on 10 February, takes a break over Easter and ends on 30 November. The networks usually don’t ramp up their flagship shows until after the Easter break.

Channel Nine would just be able to fit in all three shows back-to-back after Easter 2013, but there would be no room for movement. This is assuming each season of The Block runs for 10 weeks and Big Brother runs for 12 weeks.

The Block is already facing scheduling issues while the producers attempt to obtain building rights to a block of units in Sydney.

Meanwhile back in Big Brother land there’s been rumours of another celebrity season, but we’re not sure where Channel Nine plans to schedule this – unless it becomes a low budget summer show.

Channel Nine shuffles BB schedule

Removes BB content from GO!

Big Brother 2012 eye

Big Brother 2012 eyeUpdate: The axing of the Sunday daily show is effective immediately, not from 2 September as previously reported.

The weekly schedule for Big Brother has been shuffled by Channel Nine after the very average ratings for ‘Big Brother Confidential’.

  • Big Brother Confidential has been moved to 8pm Thursdays. It will initially air for 30 minutes but our sources say Nine will consider extending it to 60 minutes if it performs well.
  • The Sunday night daily show on GO! has been cancelled completely. Footage from Friday and Saturday will now be shown during the eviction on Sunday. This change will begin from Sunday 2 September immediately.
  • Daily shows will be permanently extended to 60 minutes on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays (unless ratings significantly decline).
  • No daily show on Saturday.

The Big Brother schedule still includes a giant gap for MA content, as no shows screen late enough to include nudity or adult themes. Be sure to join our email campaign to Bring Back Uplate. We’ve already sent more than 600 emails to Channel Nine on behalf of fans who want Uplate returned.

As part of their agreement with the production company, Channel Nine have bought a certain number of ‘Big Brother hours’ which they can use as they see fit. Here’s how the schedule is looking over the next week:

Sunday: Daily Show 6pm on GO! (30 mins) and eviction on Nine (60 mins).
Monday: Nominations show (90 mins)
Tuesday: Daily show (60 mins)
Wednesday: Daily show (60 mins)
Thursday: Daily show (60 mins) then BB Confidential (30 mins)
Friday: Daily show (30 mins)

Zoe the emo?

Outed by her sister in law

We’re all scratching our heads over who belongs to the remaining secrets, and it looks like Zoe is the ex-emo.

Last week on the ‘BubHub’ forums (a website for mothers), a user identified themselves as Zoe’s sister-in-law and added they don’t like the show but are watching because Zoe’s on it.

When asked what Zoe’s secret is, the sister-in-law says Zoe “used to be an emo”.

Well that all depends on what ’emo’ is. We couldn’t find any photos of Zoe with dyed black hair and multiple piercings, nor could we find any angsty poetry she’s written, but here’s a photo from Zoe’s very old Myspace profile with her wearing a black top – is that emo enough?
