More housemate profiles

Stalking internet accounts isn't creepy if they're on TV

With thanks to some dedicated Behind Big Brother users, we bring you more unofficial profiles of your favourite (or not so favourite) housemates! We’ll have more profiles soon.

Estelle
She’s all over the internet and particularly active on Twitter where she loves to talk about how gangster her inner city Melbourne life is. Amongst her many posts and Instagram photos are poignant reflections on how she sometimes skates in Versace jeans and lives the thug life.

Estelle profile 4But hold up yo. Estelle’s split personality also enjoys horse riding at country clubs. Her Youtube account includes a few videos of her horses.

She also owns a Land Rover and loves driving it.

Here’s her old Myspace account and her Facebook account.

Layla
Layla profile 2When Layla’s royalty secret was revealed all of her modelling profiles were suspiciously taken down very fast. Luckily though she has a Twitter account with plenty of updates.

She also has an old Bebo account (EDIT: this Bebo account is Layla’s sister’s Holly’s) and an even older Myspace account which includes a few of her modelling shots.

Time for intruders already?

They're coming and likely soon

House twoThree weeks into the season and whispers of incoming intruders are already making rounds on the internet.

We’ve heard from within the production staff that intruders will be introduced this year, but producers have yet to decide who is selected, and no one is in lock down right now.

One speculation is that one or more people from fake ‘house 2’ will become real housemates. Some of the actors filmed for the fake house did attend auditions earlier this year.

We’ve also heard that a silent audition process happened at Dreamworld this week, looking for a “female, blonde, big busted, under 26 and single”.

So when would any intruders enter the house? Historically the Big Brother Australia format has almost always introduced housemates between days 20-30 and 50-60 to address usual dips in viewer interest. By the schedule of all other seasons, we’re due to have some intruders very soon.

Ray wins: Sarah to be evicted

Betting odds not in Sarah's favour

Sarah upsetEviction betting odds have been released and Sarah’s chances of surviving this week in the house keep dropping.

Initially being listed on Centrebet just after the nominations show at 1.80 to go, her odds slowly dropped cent by cent to 1.60 at the time of posting this article (1.00 is considered a 100% likelihood of being evicted).

This week’s three nominees are faring:

  • Sarah 1.60
  • Ray 2.60
  • Bradley 8.50

Meanwhile in the winner odds nothing much has changed. The top three spots are still dominated by the “blokey” men, and behind current nominee Estelle is still the least likely to win the series.

One concession to Sarah this week is that Ray is the least likely male to win the series. At the time of writing the odds were:

  • Michael 3.50
  • Josh 5.50
  • George 5.50
  • Stacey 8.00
  • Layla 10.00
  • Zoe 12.00
  • Angie 14.00
  • Bradley 14.00
  • Benjamin 14.00
  • Ray 15.00
  • Estelle 21.00
  • Sarah 26.00

Social media campaign offers $20k for HM to walk

Must leave on their own accord

A social media campaign titled #FreeBBAU is offering $20,000 to any Big Brother housemate who voluntarily leaves the house.

But how will any of the housemates learn of the offer?

The campaign twitter account @hlfu_au has posted various videos of their attempts to reach the housemates, including a hidden “pizza delivery” (which would clearly never work!)

But what was impressive was their attempt to fly a toy dolphin into the house using a remote control helicopter. It also appears they’ve been speaking through a megaphone near the BB compound.

A rep running the campaign told us the housemate “just has to leave BB of their own will (not be voted out) to get the $$”

Disclaimer: The video and twitter account are part of a marketing campaign for NAB Bank – but we thought the dolphin helicopter was pretty cool, so we’re giving them a plug. We’ve been told the $20k offer is the real deal.

The verdict is in: BB Confidential sucks

Universally panned by TV critics and fans

Big Brother 2012 eye

Big Brother Confidential, the “not uncut” extra show in this year’s BB lineup relaunched in a 8pm timeslot last night.

And today it’s already being slammed as a boring and cheap extension of the daily show.

Jenna Clarke at the Sydney Morning Herald dedicated a whole article to shaming the show, titled Big Brother manages to get worse. Of particular note was BB Confidential’s awful graphics:

“If the cutting-room floor of BB was in an abattoir, Confidential would be offal.

“What the 30 minutes of Big Brother Confidential lacks in nudity and night-time romps it makes up for with special effects produced on a Commodore 64.”

The complaints were mirrored at rival News Limited’s Herald Sun paper, where Siobhan Duck wrote:

“It also seems to have metamorphosised into a clip show with silly voice-overs (care-of Mike Goldman) and bad special effects.”

“I am not sure what was worse: the gratuitous nudey show that Ten churned out or this poor-man’s BB meets Funniest Home Videos. I think I’ll stick to the daily show”

Big Brother Confidential was broadcast last week at a mature 10.10pm Wednesday timeslot, allowing producers to show MA15+ content including nudity and adult themes. Despite this freedom, footage was kept very “family friendly”.

For unknown reasons Channel Nine then moved the show to 8pm Thursday, meaning that footage must now be PG.

We asked the twittersphere what they thought of Confidential. Join the conversation by following @behindbb on twitter and join us in our unofficial forums.

BB’s second house

UPDATE: It's not at Dreamworld

In an update to our previous story about Big Brother’s plans to fake a second house, we can confirm that the production team have been filming at a second location some 30 minutes away from Dreamworld.

Over the past few weeks the house has been kitted out to appear like a standard Big Brother house and fake housemates have been filmed in situ. The fake house isn’t recorded 24/7 and the fake housemates don’t live there.

The footage will be played to the real housemates – most probably this Sunday – as well as recordings of the audience from last Sunday’s eviction waving fake signs and cheering for fake housemates.

Our sources tell us the rationale is to to increase competition and make the housemates try harder to win the weekly tasks. At only three weeks in to the series and most housemates still denying they’re part of a competition, we wonder what effect it really will have.

What do you think about all this fake house business? Head to our forums to discuss with other fans!
