Thoughts on Intruders

Ello. Squishy here. About time I got on my damn podium and have a bitch.

This was the intruder show, eh? How much screen time did the intruders get? 5 minutes? maybe 6?

There were two other events circulating this. Hayley’s eviction and Aleshia’s birthday. Hayley knew that her eviction was coming soon after yanking Andrew’s doodle and saying I’ll go, you stay here, so naturally, Andrew being Blandrew, he accepted.

Something about a rumour where she had a sister’s wedding in Spain, but knowing Hayley… who knows what her domination over Andrew’s really wanting to go meant.

Now – BB evicting Hayley during Aleshia’s 21st was downright cruel. Most of the people would be floundering about Andrew and hugging him instead of wishing Aleshia a happy birthday. Being 21 only happens once, and it’s a really big event, you don’t want to see your new friends hugging someone else.
Not only that they decided to make this ‘Intruder special’ the “Hayley show” with at least 20-30 minutes about Hayley’s time in the house, then Gretel thankfully reminding us -not- that Hayley would be walking down the eviction plank properly, in a proper frock, and gaining adoration from the audience.

Like LOL. We don’t need to see any more of Hayley. She already stole the Intruder limelight.

You know when BB decided to put the intruders in? He dressed ’em up as ninjas delivering drinks to the HM’s. Then, two seconds until the show ended, BB revealed them. We didn’t see how they get to interact. No, we’d have to watch Uplate for that.

Yet another boycotting reason for BB to get viewers.

Pathetic. Come on BB, if it’s a damn intruder special, why the hell did you make it the Hayley show?

Day 32

9:36am: Daniella and Laura have woken up for their first morning in the Big Brother house. Thomas comes out and says Hi to Nick, and gives him a hug as part of the tasks requirements. Laura asks him if the tea bag is his, picking it up from the floor, and Nick approaches her and hugs her too. Once Laura has gone inside, Nick says to Thomas that he doesn’t think it’s a good idea to pick up on people’s habits this early. Inside, Andrew thinks it’s weird being in the house today, having lost Hayley the previous evening. He says he just needs to adjust, but he promises he’ll have a ball anyway. Travis says that they both deserve to be in the house. In the bedroom, Aleisha is again reciting her lines she must utter before going outside. Once in the kitchen she says she doesn’t want to do that anymore. Jamie and Daniella are on the couch relaxing. Sussanah walks past to go to the diary room, and Daniella asks if her boobs are fake. Sussanah says they are fake. Daniella says they look good! Outside Laura and Travis are talking about Tassie. Laura says she intends to have her family grow up in Tassie. Travis wonders if people shower down there. Laura laughs. Andrew comes to the diary room and says that last night he struggled to talk to anyone, and even today he isn’t in the right frame of mind to talk to people. He says it’s a weird feeling, as if the relationship has ended. He says he doesn’t know when he’ll see her again, but when he does everything will be find, but in the meantime it’s a strange feeling.

1:31pm: Laura comes outside and reveals her tan already. Sussanah can’t believe it, Zoran is checking her out as she walks over to talk to Sussanah. Big Brother gathers all housemates in the bedroom while they set up a task. Daniela reads out a message from Big Brother saying that they want the housemates to celebrate New Years Eve, and have to get to the “New Year deck” before Big Brother has finished counting down from 10. Fireworks sound and Big Brother begins counting down. Aleisha must still say her lines before leaving the room, then housemates gather confetti and run outside and just get to the deck. They then celebrate. Laura and Joel share a laugh while Travis begins cleaning up the confetti. Nick and Jamie both agree that this place is doing their heads in. Nick says he is about to lose it, saying that the family dinner better go nicely otherwise there could be some arguments. In the bedroom, Billy tells Emma that he had a good long talk to Jamie today about ‘nothing.’ Emma says she that because Jamie was adopted he always had to fight, fight for food and he’s been deprieved of a lot of things and because of this environment he has to share things again and has to compete again and thats why he is uncomfortable again. Emma says she doesn’t like it. Meanwhile Nick says he can’t ignore certain things about certain housemates and he can’t ignore it anymore. He again says he is ready to snap. He says he is appreciative of Andrew, Jamie, Thomas, Sussanah and Travis for the intelligent conversation.

7:21pm: Housemates are seating at the dining table for the weekly meeting. Emma reads out the first topic. “Food needs to be rationed.” Travis owns up and says this was his topic, and in particular Yougart is meant to be only 1 a day but some people seem to be having 3 or 4. Nick chimes in and says that what happened with the Pizza shapes the other night was disgusting, saying to wake up and find 2 or 3 people have eaten them all in inconsiderate. Emma reads the next one saying “Try to get along with everyone, not just the people that you generally hang out with.” A few people pass and have nothing to say on the issue, and Jamie says that people don’t have to chat and hang out with people they don’t necessarily like, but they should be civil to one another. The next one is “New housemates should understand the rules of the house before giving their opinions.” Laura says that everyone should feel comfortable to be approached about something. Nick says he thought he was clear with Laura this morning but both newbies look absolutely confused. He clarifies but Emma interrupts and says that they should tak about 1 on 1 issues by themselves, not with 14 people at a table. They move onto the last issue which is “People shouldn’t talk about others behind their backs.” Lots of people pass. Daniela says that people tend to bitch a lot should go outside their box and talk to others to try to get out of the bitching habit. After the meeting Nick hugs Rebecca as part of the task and Rebecca says that he didn’t look happy during the meeting. Jamie gets Emma alone and tries to tell her that when he stares he’s not staring as if he’s annoyed at Emma, but rather analysising etc. He apologies that she might feel uncomfortable. Aleisha pipes in and wonders if she is easy to read. Jamie laughs saying that she is easy to read. Jamie says that he would be dissapointed if he didn’t get to know everyone in the house, and perhaps he hasn’t got to know Emma as well, and says that he thinks they have more in common than you would think. Emma says she is willing to give it a crack. Jamie leaves the bathroom saying “Aleisha…i’m watching you.”

10:26pm: Joel’s task is to wash the feet of two different people a night. He has chosen new housemate Daniela, and says that she has much nicer feet than a lot of the guys, especially Zorans. Joel laughs, often wondering what he must look like washing peoples feet all the time. Daniela says she’ll repay the favour after the task. Joel dries her feet as well, saying that it’s the first one he’s dried too. Meanwhile in the chill out room, Billy says that he likes Laura, and Daniela is a nice girl but will voice her opinions pretty loudly. Andrew says that Laura was a sweety to him last night, and even again today. He says she is pretty full on with her greeny stuff though. In the bedroom, Emma and Aleisha are asking the new girls if they are attracted to anyone. Both girls say they aren’t. Daniela says that her boyfriend and herself have only been together for 6 months. Daniela says that Thomas is the usual guy she would go for, but he does nothing for her. Aleisha says that he is the most unattractive guy in the whole house. She says he loves his manners though. Thomas enters and Daniela asks if he’s ever had a gay encounter. He answers no after a bit of hesitation.

12:05am: Andrew is heading to bed and a few others are following. Rebecca says they need to shut the doors. Joel and Daniela are holding hands as they close the doors and joke it’s a bit like Sliding Doors.

BB leaping over the shark

It was only a few weeks ago that I was writing my first blog for BBBA. I was still excited, thinking that maybe this year would be a great year. I was buoyed by Rilly’s fist blog and decided that, rather than support Brekkie Boy’s negative outlook on the new season I’d trust in Rilly. Even going so far as to make that my new sig on the forums.

I remember talking to them both in the chat room about those blogs. Rilly insisted that it was going to be the best ever, and I wanted to believe him. I decided that Rilly was going to be right and that this was definitely going to be the one that rocked. Brekkie tried to convince me that it would be great in its first couple of weeks, but it would slide into it’s boring predictable self. I didn’t want to believe Brekkie. I thought, no this year he’s got to be wrong. Rilly is going to prevail. He will be right; this one will be the best ever.

And I have to admit that as the show started he seemed to be right. I was pleased to have my Trust in Rilly sig. I put my faith in him and I wasn’t going to be disappointed. Then the Haydrew show began to rear its ugly head, but that was saved by the Haydrew/Bodie conflict. The White Room was a disaster. BB could’ve used that situation so much better.

That seems to be the problem with BBAU’s production team. They have some fantastic ideas (most borrowed from overseas, but they do try to add their own twist), but they just don’t seem to be able to execute them fully. They panic, as they seemed to do with the White Room, and rather than leave them in their and begin some torturous routine to make them break, BB offered them $750 and one hapless near housemate took it. Then as we launched into another BB specialty (the special) we witnessed the White Room housemate chosen through the good old ball dropping into a cylinder system. There was no other way for the housemate to be decided? We couldn’t keep them in a week longer? The special had to be then and there. And it’s not like BB has used the room since. I thought that perhaps there was a use for the room and they needed to get the WR housemates out but no such wonder has yet occurred.

And then we come to yet another special and I fear that this is where BB jumped that proverbial shark and began to leap a dolphin and whale simultaneously. The oh so anticipated Golden Key contestants. SO far the only highlight to this debacle has been Rilly’s avatar which keeps on amusing me every time I look at it. The whole episode was a set up from start to finish. How can these four, out of the countless others we saw represent the Australian public? And to be chosen by searching through a container of lollies? My mind has been boggling so much it’s beginning to spin itself out of existence.
I often wonder whether Gretel sees the idiocy in the things that BB does and whether she has any say at all. I’ve often thought her to be an intelligent woman but feel that her voice just doesn’t get heard. She can’t seriously be happy with the wasted chances and opportunities that seem to slip through the production teams fingers.

And now we have a new set of intruder’s set to enter on Tuesday night. Puhleaze!! We have only had three evictees so far and they are going for another ratings grab by bringing in new people. Nick has only just begun to feel comfortable in the house and we still haven’t seen enough of Jamie, Rebecca, Joel etc thanks to the Haydrew show. We don’t know the housemates at all. My first blog asked BB to concentrate on the housemates, give us ones we loved to hate and plain and simply loved. I actually believe that BB has done that this year. This more than any other year has given us some truly interesting situations. We have seen arguments come on at the drop of a hat, conflict like never before and some really side splitting moments like Bodies ninja act. Yet BB is pushing the specials and seems to believe that just watching people interact is not enough. It is BB it is! The housemates provide us with the entertainment. We will watch them on the couches, bitching in the chill out room, cooking the dinner. The basic pared back BB is what we all seem to be longing for. The days of yore seem to be talked about more and more these days. The first BB where we watched them doing nothing and then the third series where we watched housemates enter alone and deal with the fallout from joining houses together.

It’s time for a change. Time for a complete overhaul of the production team. Time to say goodbye to Kris Noble and his entourage forever. I unfortunately have lost my faith in Rilly, as he seems to have done with himself. I have now jumped on the Brekkie Boy bandwagon as I had an inkling I should’ve done from the beginning. I wish I could say that I believe that the show will be able to redeem itself but I really don’t hold out much hope sadly.

Day 25

7:12am: Rebeccca and Jamie are lying in the bed in the backyard counting the sheep. Travis and Demet are also sleeping outside, and Jamie decides it’s time for everyone to get up, so he wakes up Travis, who goes and tells everyone in the bedroom. Zoran is struggling, as is Joel. The clock stops. Nick says he is getting to the stage where he would happily chuck in the $50,000 for some sleep. Suddenly all noises come on, and Zoran and Thomas race out to the backyard and press a button within 20 seconds. Thomas says “You suck Big Brother” and lies down outside the buzzer. Big Brother immediately tells the farmhard to feed the animals. Andrew and Nick go to do that. Andrew wonders if it’s the same cow. Rebecca says that she is having a few issues with Zoran. Jamie says that Nick is trying to asert his authority over him and he’s trying to put Jamie down. Jamie says he doesn’t appreciate it all. “He’s picked the wrong target with me.” Andrew is trying to collect the eggs, but is having a hard time because the chickens won’t move. He gives up on the last couple. Back inside, Joel has got a Yellow boxing outfit on. He says he feels better already now he’s in it. “See Big Brother, just when you think you have me, something else comes up.”

10:59am: Joel is asleep on the couch. Hayley quickly tells him. The clock stops. Emma tells Joel to come and help in the kitchen to keep him awake. He stares at Emma and makes her laugh. On the couch, Travis wonders how Nick is treating him. Jamie says he’s been very quiet towards him. Billy comes in and asks for some cheese or something, and Jamie says that he trusts Billy’s judgement so he goes away again. Jamie continues about Nick, saying that Nick was just saying insulting jokes to Jamie, even after he’s told him numerous times. Outside watching the sheep, Nick and Sussanah are counting sheep talking about the heat. Jamie says he has a temper, but it takes a hell of a lot to snap him. He says he is here for fun and not here for mindgames.

11:31am: Emma and Aleisha are almost snoozing on the bed in the backyard. A few sheep appear, Emma says “Yeh yeh” and Aleisha immediately wakes up and goes “What?!” Emma says that they saw 2.

12:41am: Joel and Billy are on the bed watching sheep. Big Brother calls Thomas to the diary room. Billy thinks the task is over, Joel is not convinced. They all head outside and Big Brother announces that the sheep counting task is now over. Thomas has an envelope. All housemates tell Big Brother that they counted 22 sheep. Thomas opens the letter, revealing that the correct number was 22! Big Brother asks them whether they would like a one hour ‘nana nap’ or a pot of freshly brewed coffee. They decide on the nana nap and all run inside very excited.

6:11pm: Everyone is sitting down eating dinner. Sussanah says that this is the best meal she has ever had. It’s time for their weekly meeting. Billy says that he’s noticed that it’s the same people offering to help with jobs that need to be done around the house. He says everyone needs to chip in and help. The camera pans to Sussanah a heap! Emma says they shouldn’t mention names, but says that everyone needs to help. Nick says that he has at times he struggles to fit into the group, but it’s turning around, so he appreciates it. Zoran says that he has sorted out his issues with Nick now, and he says that he really appreciates that they chatted. Thomas says that it’s easy for the loud ones like himself to talk over others. Jamie says that he’s probably looked like an ass as the chef because he hasn’t given people cheese etc because he has had plans with it for later in the week. Andrew agrees that they shouldn’t just be taking things. Thomas finally mentions that Emma gets up every single morning and makes the porridge, and lunches. He says thankyou, and Emma says she likes cooking.

7:05pm: Quite a few people out lounging by the pool. Inside Demete and Emma are in the kitchen. Demet says she can’t get over how dirty Zoran is. She says he reminds her of a typical guy who does nothing at home. Out by the pool, Aleisha says that Zoran burped in her direction, and it stank! Back in the kitchen, both girls talk about how Sussanah doesn’t lift a finger in the house. They laugh that back at the table she was nodding as if she was one of the ones that did do work. Emma starts rattling off names that think Sussanah does nothing, not realising that she has walked to the sink to wash a bottle?! She leaves saying “think i’ll relax now!”.

8:36pm: Jamie takes off his microphone for a practical joke, and walks out to the people at the pool but slips and falls into the pool as a practical joke. They all laugh when they realise he did it in purpose. Thomas helps him out, but then pushes him back in. Jamie says that it’s actually really warm in there. Andrew is trying to get Billy and Aleisha together and ‘live the dream.’ Later, Billy tries to get Aleisha to kiss him on the cheek, but she says ‘the tricks old. I know what you’re trying to do.’ Billy then kisses her! Aleisha is a bit stunned, and Rebecca says that she saw it, saying that Billy obviously needed to do it. Meanwhile Jamie is hoping that people aren’t pissed at him for falling in the pool. Jamie says that Thomas was ready to take his shirt off “surprise surprise!” Jamie says that his friends would watch that and say that that is actually Jamie, the real guy.

12:04am: It’s almost bedtime. They decide it’s time to get a few hours of sleep. An alarm sounds and Joel and Billy get up and hit the snooze button out in the yard.

Housemate roles and positioning

It is too early to say whether this series of Big Brother will be significantly different to years gone by. It certainly has features taken from other years:

– Mostly Anglo – Celtic housemates, though with more blondes than usual

– Friday Night Live still acts as a tribute to “It’s a Knockout”

– Many, many vacuous conversations about nothing

– Housemates being wary and “playing the game”

– The first week is the peacock week – as in “look at me, I’m beautiful” displays to HMs and voters.

– Some kind of “twist” involvement housemates’ lives before the show

– John Howard jumping and down, calling the show ridiculous.

Good New Stuff in 07

The White Room

This will toughen up the eventual winner, and ensure they don’t get swamped by the peacock weeks. It will also give the person a better chance of staying than the usual “intruders”, because they will be considered legends by both HMs and voters. It’s a great idea.

The Chill Out Room

Another excellent idea. This has already allowed Andrew and Hayley time to contribute to the “Love Triangle” plotline by having a conversation about it; it was where TJ showed her true colours to Thomas; it started to show the real Bodie (and his language!). It gives us a more intimate portrait of HMs in a small group setting.

The Green House

As a role modeling tool for people in the 15 – 29 year age group, this is an excellent idea. Hopefully when they build their own houses, they will insist on “things they saw in the Big Brother house”.

Early Housemate Roles and Positioning

One of the more interesting parts of the early days of BB is trying to pick how each HM will “position” themselves, so they can ensure their long term survival with other HMs and the voting public. Here are my observations, which will probably be proven completely wrong in time:

Hayley is not really able to settle into a role / pattern, considering she is the centrepiece of the first “twist”. ESS has spent a lot of money and effort in making her so. Watching for her interactions with Andrew and Billy has made sure she is observed in that plotline. However, it seems as though she is attempting to make herself liked by as many people as possible – Thomas is one example, TJ another.

Andrew could have been close to being the winner if he wasn’t a part of the initial “twist”. He seems to be largely friendly and laid back, with enough of an edge to make him appealing to an audience. He is a slow-burn character, like Ben in season 1 and Peter in season 2. Enough of a mate to men and a good friend to girls to make him a non-divisive character. However, if there is an Andrew/Hayley eviction choice, voters would probably choose Hayley, because she has more immediate appeal and there is the possibility she would fall for Billy’s charms once again.

Billy could have the stuff to go all the way as well – he seems to be easy-going, intelligent and tough. However, his fate is in the hands of others at this stage.

Thomas is another character who could have some long-term appeal. He would have a number of female fans, due to his looks and intelligence. Males wouldn’t mind his male bonding and the fact he is sporty. What is curious is why he is there at all. He appears to have many skills which would give him much wealth and success in the outside world, without BB. That means he doesn’t have an edge of desperation than many HMs have. This has led to the fact that he has been (mostly) successful in making friends in BB. However, TJ’s attempt to target him shows how unwilling he is to insult / argue with anyone. This may be perceived as a strength or weakness as the show goes on.

TJ is a crash through or crash type of character, who seems to have a steely purpose behind her life in BB. She uses a flirty tone to ingratiate herself with men – and its seems to work to an extent. As she indicated early on, she is not popular with women – probably because of her flirtiness. Her interaction with Thomas has been interesting, because it possibly reveals something about her long-term plan. She would know that she would never have a chance with a man like Thomas in the outside world – nor in BB. He’s a man successful in business and she’s a pub employee. That’s why her flirting / “heartache” is all for show. However, by targetting him and hoping he will crack, she is attempting to reduce him to being less of an opponent. It will be interesting to see her tactic against the female HMs.

Aleisha appears to be without a plan and without a mean bone in her body. That’s as good a tactic as any to ensure long-term survival. But not to win. She is, however, entertaining due to her energy and lack of scheming. This will be a little wearing as time goes on – but people will enjoy her as long as she remains fresh faced and happy.

Rebecca appears to have a mission, as a part of her life as a Mormon. As we all know, Mormons are required to do a certain amount of evangelising. Instead of just knocking on more unfriendly doors, Rebecca is taking her lifestyle and views to a wider audience. Perhaps, she hopes, she can show that Mormons are human, moral and not part of a weird cult. This makes her a definite outsider, and will continue to do so – to an extent. If, however, she makes Mormonism attractive / appear normal, then her mission will have been completed successfully.

Travis is a friendly ocker bloke, who appears to be just himself, having a good time – perhaps hoping that this experience may open some doors for him. It can’t be easy being a truck driver with a small family, considering the long periods of separation that occur. He will probably go far due to his friendliness and resemblance to Shane Warne. He may even win due to what is called the Reggie Principle. He may play some politics – but that will be somewhere down the track.

Bodie is a complex character – part bogan, part thinker. He is very grave and thoughtful in the diary room and at certain times with certain HMs. At other times, though, he is a house clown. That duality will suit him well with HMs. The clownishness will probably make him popular with audiences, especially when daily shows use his antics to lighten the tone. The thoughtfulness will also help, if only to surprise people that he can play both roles.

Susannah hasn’t done that much yet – she appears to have one ambition, to be a Chapel Street clothes horse, doing promotions for people. This makes her friendly to the boys, but not much else. She will probably disappear somewhere in the middle of series, after the early nutters/interesting/divisive characters leave, but before the HMs with dedicated fan bases go.

Joel is another who does the clown role, and can be entertaining in a cringe-inducing way. He will try to act like one of the “blokes”, but his background and political ambitions will probably act against him being embraces by HMs and the audience. He has not done enough yet to indicate how he will play the game – whether he takes his opportunities to make some political points will be interesting to see. His presence as a Young Liberal in the house puts John Howard’s comments in sharp relief.

Zoran is another bloke who is friendly, but has merged into the background. We won’t see his true personality for a little while yet. He will stay, because many female fans will like him and he doesn’t appear to be offending anyone.

Jamie will have the fan base of many BB devotees and BBBA forum members, because they finally have a role model. Some have drawn parallels to Tim from BB5, because he is an intelligent outsider. However, Jamie does not appear to have a political agenda and Tim eventually showed that he had much more personal magnetism than first appeared. He was also able to endear himself to other HMs over a time. Jamie has not been very visible in the first week – just like Tim – but has been observing people closely. This is probably a good idea, because the peacock weeks are all about outer beauty and power. Jamie could never compete with that.

Kate appears to regret going onto BB. This may be a tactic to milk sympathy or a genuine regret. She is a person who easily makes enemies – she doesn’t pride herself on diplomacy. She also appears to look down on others. This may be a self-esteem issue, as in – look down on others before they do the same to you. This will not serve her well with HMs or the public. She will probably be the first to go. This is a shame, because she is probably the only one (other than Travis and Aleisha) who has been their true selves in the first week. Kate also has a healthy, earthy sense of humour which would garner a number of friends in the real world.

Emma has realised early that one of her strengths is to make herself appear to be strong and decisive. This is why she has chosen to make an issue of Kate’s passing comment about energy drink hoarding. She can take the position of the wronged person and therefore her comments can be agreed with. By also commenting on “nerds” and other non-image centred people, she is making a decisive stand which may gain allies. Her idea to recruit Aleisha as an ally is smart – Aleisha has a friendliness and charm Emma could never possess. Any success Emma has over Kate, however, will be shortlived. Artificial, brittle characters like Emma rarely go to the end. She will probably go at the same time as Anna did in 06.

So, these coming months will probably act to prove me completely wrong. If they do or don’t, it will be another interesting year in the BB house.

Day 9

8:19am: Big Brother tells Emma that she must choose a housemate to go with her to feed the animals. Jamie sits up almost next to her, but she asks Thomas to come with her. They find that they have no eggs today. Inside, Jamie is exercising and Kate comes out to sit with him. Jamie tells her that he was fully awake when Emma was called for farmhand duties thinking that this was his chance to get to know her, but she chose Thomas. When the farmhands return they report that there are no eggs and no milk. Jamie says “oh bummer.” In the kitchen Emma and Thomas try to look for the bread and realise that all the food and drink has dissapeared, Big Brother taking whatever is left over each week so they start again.

Big Brother calls all housemates to the living room and Thomas comes out of the diary room and reads a letter. Big Brother tells them that their honeymoon is over, and with some housemates breaking rules, Big Brother has decided that housemates must earn their own way. Each day for doing their alloted chores, housemates will receive $3 each; for each rule breach $1 will be taken from this wage. Until further notice housemates will receive porridge for each and every meal. Thomas, having bought out the porridge from the diary room, starts getting cups and dishing out their first try of it. Bodie is dissapointed and suggests a strike. Others say Big Brother wouldn’t care.

1:52pm: Jamie sits on the couch watching the white room by himself, and looks upset. Emma sees this and tells Bodie and Aleisha. Bodie is saddened by the news, and wants to go and talk to him, but the girls stop him. Jamie starts hitting a pillow, obviously mad with himself. Back outside, Bodie says that they should try and include him more. Emma says that he needs to meet us halfway as well. Aleisha comes inside and they talk about the heat being a killer for Jamie, saying “yeh, I burn like that.”

Over in the white room, Harrison is crying. Demet says that they should perhaps all leave. They talk about it some more, saying that Cruz did the best thing. Harrison says that they should have left yesterday with him. Kara says that she feels that she could do this forever now. Harrison says that they have no chance of winning even if they do get into the house. Kara suggests talking to Big Brother and trying to work out something, and if there is no end in sight, then to all press the button together. They all say they are happy to all just go home. A little while later Big Brother starts talking to the wildcards. Big Brother tells them that something will change ‘very soon’, Kara says ok, but then says we agreed too soon, saying ‘we could’ve asked for hot chips’.

5:06pm: Rebecca and Kate are in the sauna. Kate says she isn’t comfortable in this house. Rebecca says the quirkyness of some housemates is annoying her. Kate is still peeved that she was given the job of janitor. Kate says that Thomas is part of their gang! Rebecca says the division in the house is becoming more and more apparent. Meanwhile, a few housemates are watching the White room on the feed, and say that they seem a lot happier than normal. Rebecca says that Bodie is irratating the crap of her, and Kate agrees.

8:32pm: Big Brother tells the housemates that are nominated are Kate, Bodie and Emma. Big Brother calls Emma to the diary room, and explains that as winner of FNL she can take someone off the block, and decide who to put up. She takes herself off, and puts Jamie up. Big Brother then tells the housemates that the new nominees will be announced ‘later’.

9:54pm: Aleisha is in the bedroom with Bodie. Bodie says that he hasn’t really missed home until right now. Aleisha says “It’s only because you think your unliked.” Aleisha says that she might still be up yet. Bodie says that Emma handled it very well. Bodie says he just got mad and couldn’t hide it. Emma says she thought she would be up. Bodie says that he doesn’t know about the hugs and kisses afterwards. Emma says that is as fake as anything. Outside, Kate and Hayley wonder who will be up with the ‘3 point twist’. Back in the bedroom, Emma says she can’t be bothered pretending to be nice to people. Bodie says he thought in the back of his mind that he would be right cause Emma had the 3 point twist, but says ‘we both got done.’

10:21pm: Still talking in the bedroom, Billy having joined in. Bodie says he doesn’t want to go. Bodie says that he is glad that he has ‘you 4’ and he says he’ll still have fun until the end. Aleisha again says that she could still be up. Bodie says she wouldn’t get one vote. Emma says that the majority of the people in the house are quite geeky, and she says she has nothing in common with anyone. On the couch, Kate is saying that she didn’t realise how boring and lonely the place would be. Emma tells Bodie that Sussanah is two faced, perhaps Rebecca also. They say for a mormen shes very strange. Bodie says that Rebecca is as bland as a couple of weet bixs. Emma also says that Jamie is a nerd and a weirdo.

Big Brother calls Bodie to the diary room. Big Brother tells Bodie that by telling someone they probably wouldn’t even receive a vote, he has effectively told that person he didn’t vote for them. Bodie looks confused. He says he didn’t deliberately do it. Big Brother tells him that until told otherwise he is a non housemate. Bodie laughs. Big Brother reveals to everyone in the living room that Bodie is a non housemate, and that they must not speak to him or include him in any conversation. Any housemate seen talking to Bodie will also face serious penalty. Bodie comes out from the diary room and can’t help but laugh, taking a seat by himself at the table. Rebecca says that this is worse for Bodie than being kicked out. Kate doesn’t agree. Housemates begin to think about bed. Rebecca says ‘the real game is only just beginning.’ Bodie wanders outside near the spa, looking as bored as anything. Kate says that Rebecca, Jamie and herself do not fit the typical BB mould.
