Day 2

The house action actually picks up early on Day 1.

8:38am: Most housemates are up and sitting on the couch in the living room. In fact, everyone has been woken up and Big Brother instructs them to turn their attention to the plasma screen. Terri appears and says that she wasn’t surprised she was evicted. She says she is extremely disappointed for her short stay and would’ve liked to have at least seen inside the house. She says that Saxon has a tough guy image, she says that Rory didn’t give her a go simply because of her age and that’s sad, but she accepts Ben’s reason that Terri ‘reminded him of his mum.”

She moves onto say again that Nobbi was too touchy feely. She says that she has the power to banish one housemate to the garden and sleep in the combi van for the remainder of her stay. She banishes Nobbi. Nobbi says “You bitch” He goes on to say she is a bitter old woman. Nobbi says to everyone he isn’t trying to be a sleeze. Travis doesn’t think that Nobbi is ‘in your face’.

Big Brother tells Nobbi that he has to collect his belongings and leave the house. David comes into the bedroom with him to help him out. He tells him the best thing he can do is to try to take it on the chin. Nobbi explains that he goes loopy when he’s by himself. Ben makes a good point saying he’ll never be nominated if he has to keep to himself. Big Brother tells Nobbi to hurry up.

Nobbi finally reaches the combi van. Bianca and Rima say that it’s such a bad punishment, but again it’s better than being completely evicted. Bianca says they’ll be outside all the time.

11:05am: Rebecca and Rima are talking about perhaps going outside in the sun. They are in the bedroom. Rebecca asks if it’s ok to call Rima cute and Rima says that it’s quite annoying and asks her to stop.

Rebecca says she has a boyfriend, and then Travis says he does as well. It’s a joke, but the others question him about it. He says he definitely isn’t gay and is straight – a guy asked him out once and he had to reply “I’m not your type.” Nobbi says that Travis is unique and that’s a good thing. Brigitte says that she would think Travis is actually more gay than some of her gay friends.

Dixie is waiting to go into the diary room – she says it’s surreal waiting to go into it. Outside, Rory and Nobbi are talking and Nobbi think that Rory will hook up with Renee in the house. He’s not so sure. Once Dixie is in the diary room, she says she is really missing her mum. She cries a little bit, saying she is trying to be strong. Renee calls Rima ‘little one’ then immediately takes it back. Renee asks if she is missing her family. She says yes she is, but at the same time they can watch her whenever they want. Travis joins in and says that her family thought it was great going in, simply so they could hit the mute button when they wanted to. Meanwhile Dixie cuts the chat short saying she’ll come back and have the conversation another time. “It’s too early to be crying and missing your mum isn’t it?”

Out at the swing, Rima says she is scared of heights and her shadow. Rima is concerned about her dog in the outside world. Nobbi requests to speak to Big Brother and a phone is given to him. He must call Big Brother from the van; he has to stay in the van until further notice. Nobbi is happier with this sentence. Nobbi says that hes going to lose his mind by himself, so he would really like to be let back into the main house. He then realises he’s locked himself inside the van.

Unknown time: Housemates are inside cleaning the dishes while Nobbi gets set for his first night in the combi van. Housemates in the bedroom are talking about how they have wto wear their microphones to sleep. Saxon and David talk about where everyone is sleeping in the bed; Saxon is happy because he has lots of leg room with Rima opposite him.

Rebecca and Dixie are saying they are looking forward to sleeping. Dixie says she misses her mum lots. Rebecca says she really does as well. Dixie explains that she talks to her mum 3 or 4 times a day usually.

Nobbi says goodnight to everyone outside. He retreats to the combi van. Inside, David and Saxon say that Nobbi is the life of the party. Nobbi is trying to figure out the best way to sleep saying it’s very uncomfortable. Travis walks around the bed in his Daffy Duck pajamas and Saxon and Rory share a little laugh.

Out on the couch Rima says she is starting to get a bit pissed off a bit. Dixie and Rima agree that this place will bring out the aggression in all of them. Dixie says it’ll be very interesting. Meanwhile Nobbi continues to try and get comfortable.

Day 2
8:24am:Big Brother wakes the housemates and tells them that breakfast is served. It comes out on the conveyor belt. They say that a couple should go and eat with Nobbi. Saxon goes and wakes him up and lets him know that pancakes are available. Once up, Nobbi says he hates mornings.

David has come to the diary room. He says he feels weird that he’s the only person over 30. He is disappointed that Terri left so soon, but understands that twists must occur. Rory asks Travis about his sexuality because he has red glasses in the shape of love hearts. Travis says that he thinks he is quite similar to Rory! Rory says he thinks he is the complete opposite.

On the couch, Dixie is talking to Rima. Dixie says he likes builders. Rima says that she and a friend used to go to worksites to check the guys out. Dixie says she likes electricians.

5:53pm: Rory says that he thinks that Rebecca, Brigitte and Bianca are good looking. He says he also likes Dixie’s breasts. Brigitte is called to the diary room. Nobbi honks his horn asking to speak to Big Brother. Brigitte says that she is sorry to Big Brother because she had her microphone in her mouth. Big Brother tells her to clean the windows. Big Brother speak to Nobbi next. He says that he can’t trust Travis at all, and he also thinks that Dave is playing a nice guy act. He also says he had a really really bad nights sleep.

Dixie talks to Rebecca and says that she is a bit insecure about herself. Rebecca says she doesn’t get looked at in the face ever and that’s really upsetting for her.

Dinner is served. Each housemate is given a number and Nobbi gets number one, which is a seafood platter. Problem is he hates seafood! Meal number two is spaghetti and Bianca gets it. Travis gets a hamburger and chips with coke, but Ben gets a stack of Cheese slices. Brigitte gets sardines on toast!

Meal number eight is eye fillet steak and David gets it. Dixie gets meal nine which is a tin of tuna. Meal 10 is a plate of boiled greens and Rory gets that. He says that they could’ve at least packed the plate. Alice gets the chicken parma!

Saxon, David and Nobbi eat outside. In the bathroom, Dixie confronts Rory about his earlier comment about her breasts. Rory says that he simply isn’t attracted to larger woman.

Ben is in the bedroom complaining about the food, while Alice says that her parma was great. Travis is stoked that he got the burger. Bianca, Dixie and Rima discuss Brigitte. Dixie doesn’t think that she means to come across the way that she does. Bianca agrees. Meanwhile, Brigitte is shown outside running in circles again and again and then trying to walk in a straight line.

4:13am: Terri re-enters the diary room. She is allowed to remove her blindfold. Big Brother welcomes her to the inside of the house. She says she is feeling pretty dejected over being evicted. Big Brother tells her that he is not a fan of predictable endings and therefore he has a plan for an experienced mind. He says that on Sunday night Big Brother will make her an offer she shouldn’t refuse. He asks her to return to lockdown until Sunday night. She accepts.

Day 1

10:39pm: Big Brother tells housemates that there is no other house and that the person they choose to evict will indeed leave never to return. Rory says that everyone should just try to relax a bit and talk amongst themselves for a little while.

Rory later talks to Rebecca and Travis – he says he think that’s he’ll either vote for Rima or Terri. Rory says that he can’t see it working properly with the small Rima with tasks and challenges. Rebecca says that she likes his way of thinking it out.

Meanwhile David checks out the taped up house, talking to another female housemate about whether it’s the gate to Friday night live or actually the house proper.

Over at the pool Ben says that if they vote in front of each other no one will be disrespectful during the process. The girls in the actual pool are talking about breast implants. Brigitte says that she regrets getting hers.

Rory is still thinking about evicting Terri. Travis and Dixie talk about the eviction and Dixie says she is going to vote for the person that will annoy here the most. A few housemates check out the Combi van. Back at the pool, Travis tells Dixie that he is glad that there isn’t a bully in the house. He says he was bullied at a previous workplace. Saxon and David are wondering what the house looks like, they both hope that they make it inside.

Rima shows one of the female housemates how to do a bit of a belly dance. Most of the other housemates watch on and laugh. Commercial break.

2:16am: Dixie and Rima talk about evicting Brigitte. Dixie says shes too much of a bimbo for her to spend 3 months with her.

Housemates take turns telling each other why they should stay. Saxon says he has a unique point of view on things, Bianca is not a typical 18 year old and isn’t like people think she is and she wants to show this to Australia, Nobbi says he’s a lot of fun and energy, Brigitte says she’s always happy and she wants to show that she’s not a bimbo and nice and she’ll cook everyone food! Travis is up next, saying that he wants to win and he has a point to proof and stereotypes to challenge, Rory says he will bring a lot of controversy and joy and stupidity to the place. Renee, the tomboy, says she doesn’t know. She says she came in on a dare and she’s simply winging it. She says no one wants to leave, and she hopes it isn’t her, Rima says she wants to stay because everyone thinks the most interesting thing about her is her height, which isn’t the case and she has much more too offer. Ben thinks he can bring a bit of intelligence to the house, saying he’s a law student (then realizing it sounded terrible) before saying he lives at home and doesn’t want to go back there just yet. David says he is older and wiser than most and he can bring some fun, yet also be serious, and then says he’ll clean toilets and make the bed for the first two weeks.

Later, Nobbi says to Saxon and Ben that he’ll probably vote for the oldest, Ben says that he sees right through David and thus he’ll be voting for him.

Big Brother announces that the sun will rise in 15 minutes and they must make their decisions then. Commercial break.

5:57am: Big Brother gathers the housemates in front of the cloud room in the backyard. Big Brother tells them that the sun has risen, and therefore it’s time to vote to evict. The order in which to vote, is up to the housemates. They decide to go left to right on the plank they are sitting on. Rebecca is up first, she votes for Ben because he didn’t have as much communication as the rest of the group. David chooses to evict Ben because he didn’t communicate enough throughout the night. Terri chooses Nobbi because he was too touchy feely with her. Bianca evicts Nobbi for the same reason as Terri. Rima chooses Brigitte because she doesn’t connect with her at all and nothing in common. Brigitte is close to tears. Travis evicts Rory because he thinks they will be safe. Renee does the dog act of evicting someone they think is safe and picks David. Alice is up next and chooses Ben for his personality. Brigitte chooses Rima for the same reasons as Rima said for . Ben has three votes, Nobbi has two. Commercial break.

6:11am: Up next is Nobbi who votes for Terri and says that he discussed it with others earlier. Ben votes Terri as well because she reminds him of his mum. Saxon votes for Terri because they have nothing in common. Rory votes for Terri. Terri is really quite upset but hold her heads up high. Dixie votes for Brigitte, meaning that Terri is the person to be evicted from the house on the first morning.

Big Brother reveals that the first evictee is Terri. She says she didn’t even get in the bloody house. Rory says he feels bad but it had to happen. Terri says that she didn’t want Ben to go so she’s half pleased he is staying, even though Ben voted for her. Big Brother tells her to go via the door on the stage. She leaves the compound. Commercial break.

6:46am: Brigitte is talking to Nobbi and Bianca and is a bit peeved that she was nominated for being a bit ditzy. Bianca says that when she first saw her she thought “oh no!” but changed her opinion after listening to her for a bit. Brigitte says she was the same when her hair used to be Brown as well! Saxon says that it would be a terrible way to go to Rima. Rima says that she would be devastated, but you can’t take it personally.

Big Brother interrupts and congratulates them on surviving the snap eviction, and tells them they are free to enter the house. A roller door goes up and in they go. Diary room isn’t open yet, but Breakfast is served on the dining room. A few check out the bed and can’t believe it! Brigitte is jumping on the bed. Nobbi heads to the bathroom, Rima says the bedroom is hot. The boys decide that it’s time for breakfast. Seems there might be a few people wanting to sleep on the edge of the bed. They soon realise that there isn’t much of a kitchen. They soon discover it’s the conveyor belt on the dining room table. Most are deciding to eat some food and tuck into some food. Commercial break.

7:26am: Ben, David and Saxon are washing up. Ben says he is sorry because he obviously didn’t get to meet everyone. He says he wasn’t expecting to receive Rebecca’s vote though. David says you can’t take it to heart.

Ben comes to the diary room. He says that he’s going well, actually knackered. He says that he got a bit complacent and took the game for granted and almost got evicted. He says he was a bit angry with the reasons given for his nominations but he’s now just angry with himself.

Saxon and Nobbi relax on some chairs in the sun. Nobbi reckons Alice and Rory will hookup for sure! Nobbi says he’s not attracted to any of them. Saxon says that he thinks Rebecca is sexy, and Brigitte isn’t that bad either. Meanwhile, in the bathroom, Rebecca and Brigitte are talking hair extensions.

Back to Ben, he says that he is wary of David and he thinks that he has a dark side. Outside the guys are wondering if David is in fact a nice guy or not. Nobbi thinks he is and they should give him the benefit of the doubt. In the diary room, Ben says that he can see the fake approaches working already, and he’s thankful for the eviction because it’s got him into gear and given him a wake up call. He goes outside and talks to Saxon and Nobbi. Nobbi says that Ben shouldn’t let anything to get to him. Ben says that David is just being nice to people face to face but then nominates him, so he’s going to be very wary of him.

The Launch

It’s a new year with new credits. The new hosts each come out onto the stage telling us that it’s a whole new game and things are going to be very different. In fact, the housemates will be asked to make an extremely tough decision later tonight. Kyle cuts to a clip package of some people that didn’t quite make the grade.

Neil Evans from Centrebet is even there to provide tips and odds throughout the night as well. Kyle then tells us that the housemates are in their own little cubicle out the back. We get to see them all for a couple of seconds each, Terri gets a cheer, Rima gets a lot of cheering and also Kyle decides he likes a blonde housemate. Enough of that, we’re off to the house with Jackie O. The combi van is there as expected, the pool has a hot and cold part, there’s some fake animals around, the washing up area is all outside and there is a door with clouds on it, that Jackie says is important but won’t be introduced until later in the series. And then there’s inside – but for the moment it’s off limits for us and also for the housemates. After the break, we meet our first housemate!

Back from the break, Jackie tells us that each housemate must leave behind a cherished item. They might get it back, they might not, it’s at Big Brother’s discretion. Anyway, first housemate is Terri and they throw to her clip package. She thinks it only takes one good parent to take care of children, not two pissweak ones! She comes out on stage and seems very nervous. She says she wanted to come on the show to show everyone that shes not really a cranky old woman and she’s actually a nice lady. Kyle notices the doll that Terri is carrying and that’s obviously her treasured item. She gets a last farewell from her grandson and then is whisked away towards the house.

Straight onto the second housemate – Saxon. He goes to the same spot every weekend to see if a UFO he once saw will every appear again. He’s obsessed with UFO’s it seems. He walks down amongst the crowd onto the stage. He has a gold necklace as his treasured item, so he gives it to the hosts, and he too is on his way.

We now go down to the house where Terri is the first to enter the house. She wanders around a bit, looking very confused and nervous. She admires the sunscreen under the sink. Kyle then tells us that an eviction is pending tonight! Commercial break!

We’re back and now it’s Travis’s turn to get into the house. Jackie is down there for a last minute interview, and he goes in after getting checked by security one last time. In he goes, and says hello to Terri. They exchange names. Terri is simply sitting on the sing. Saxon reckons they can have a bit of champagne. Terri says he has a lot of tattoos, a lot of gold, and he must have some cash! Soon after Terri is showing her muscles in her arm! Now we’re off for a tour of the house.

Diary room chair is whiteish with some purple and pink squares behind them. Couch is in the shape of a question mark, the dining roon table has a conveyor belt, there is a glass wall which is frosted but will tempt housemates in time, the bed is huge but only one big massive bed and they will have to sleep head to toe. In the bathroom each have a locker, but they all have a false back so BB can steal items if they want to.

Next housemate time, it’s Bianca! She has big breasts, lets be honest. She says everyone notices. She thinks it’ll be strange for other housemates to live with her. She comes out on stage! Kyle acts as if he can’t talk. Bianca says that her chest is a curse. She goes onto say that’s shes too honest for her own good, and when asked if she’ll be sun baking, she says she won’t because of creepy old men like Kyle. Her treasured item is her dogs collar, and she is sad to leave it behind!

Back to the house for a sec to see and Terri and Saxon are indeed talking about UFO’s. It’s time for Bianca to enter now – Terri thinks shes absolutely gorgeous. Saxon is loving it! Back with the hosts, they allude to the fact that housemates might well be locked outside overnight. Commercial break!

We’re back to the house and Terri and Saxon seem to be by themselves again – great editing there. They check out the combi van and Terri says she won’r be making out during this experience.

Next housemate is Nobbi. He came to Australia at age of 4. He likes playing Poker, he loves doing his daily boxing routine. He says he’s going to struggle because he can’t bring as much product for his face/hair that he would like too. Out he comes anyway. He has a towel with him, and says he sleeps with it. Nobbi thinks he won’t like many of the chicks, he thinks they will be all bitchy. He says he is shattered when told he must leave the towel behind. Off he goes to the house.

Back at the house, Bianca is saying something about her dad supporting her, when Nobbi walks in. After introductions he explains his real name, and says it’s best to call him Nobbi. Back at the stage, here comes the blonde Paris wannabe. She says that people think shes shallow, but she thinks she is really nice. She says there are some good men out there, but they are very hard to find. She doesn’t care if she doesn’t have makeup. It’s Brigitte. She’s very nervous when she comes out on stage. She says she wants some good friends and a great experience; she’s not looking for love. Her treasured item is a bracelet that her mother gave her. She hands them over and off to the house she goes. Commercial break!

Back from the break – Big Brother goes through the usual rules, however there is no rewards room. At the end, obviously Big Brother reveals the right to change the rules at any time. Kyle and Jackie tell us that there is a eviction tonight and they will have to stay outside overnight. Inside the house the blonde Barbie goes. She says she is very nervous, almost stressing. After introductions Brigitte says she needs a drink. Nobbi thinks that she was stressing in the booth next to her. Terri wonders if she has a shorter dress; audience laughs.

Next housemate is a doctor, Alice. She’s blonde and wearing a white dress down to the stage through the audience. She loves animals. She says she gets her arm into cow’s bottoms almost on a daily basis. Alice says she does hate spiders. Alice is single, and never says never to love. Her treasured item is a dead organism, and Kyle tells her to leave it behind and to wait out the back because she’ll be with the next housemate.

It’s Travis’s turn – Kyle says “Travis it’s time to come out of the closet.” Funny stuff. He has two ducks, a bird, a budgie and a horse called Thunder. Thunder is the best horse in the world. He reckons he has a great workout routine. His job is a marketing co-ordinator. Interesting. He says he gets called a woman all the time on the phone. He says he isn’t gay. He says everyone should be who they want to be. Onto stage he comes, and it looks like his treasured item is a book. Kyle doesn’t believe that’s his real voice. He says there is nothing wrong with it, and Travis loves it, so that’s all that matters. He says that nothing fazes him all that much. He says he is ready for a relationship, and age is no barrier! The book is actually the bible – he doesn’t like giving it up. He gives Jackie a hug and is on his way.

The hosts tell us that we’re at the halfway point of the show, so it’s off to the betting ring for an update. Terri is at long odds, Saxon is at longer, Bianca is at $12, Nobbi is at $16 while poor Brigitte is at $51. Alice is in front of Travis. Brigitte wonders if it’s real grass; Bianca explains that it’s Astroturf. Commercial break.

Back from the break with Jackie outside the house alongside Alice and Travis. Travis is apparently scared of the dark. Alice is pumped to go into the house. Onto security, and eventually into the house. Actually no, Travis hugs Jackie again. Cheers all around as introductions are made. Saxon watches on with a smirk. Travis asks Brigitte about her voice and whether she got a hard time on stage! Terri comes up to Travis and asks something about a butt.

Next housemate is Rory. He wants a wife and kids, and a mistress on the side. He wants to make his money early and then enjoy life going round the country pub by pub. Up onto the stage Rory comes. Jackie says that Rory once entered a manhunt in just a g-string. He has a small wooden cabinet as his treasured item.

Back at the house, Travis, Bianca & Brigitte are checking out the herb garden. Rory makes an entrance. Terri reckons he is tall. Rory reckons he’s going to forget everyone’s name; he says he’s terrible.

Housemate number 9, it’s a tomboy. She plays footy and greatly admires her mum. She says she is a laid back chick, but hates dishonest people. She talks really really fast. It’s Renee. She says she is very excited about going in. She says she loves her job (she works at an abattoir) and wouldn’t change anything. She says she doesn’t like the princess girls who take forever to get ready. She has bought along her blanket from home. She drops that off, and she’s off to the house to join the others. Commercial break.

Come back to a clip of Kyle in the house last year refusing to take off his house. Hosts through to Renee entering the house. She says she too won’t remember names. Introductions all round. Seems to be getting on with Rory already.

Back with Kyle, it’s time for something a little different. It’s Rima. She says she has a condition in regards to her height, but is a normal person. She has a husband Carl. They have small tables in their house. She says she is very honest, but luckily hasn’t got a black eye yet! She says she is just 1 metre tall. She isn’t scared of anything! She swears but it’s bleeped out. Kyle bends down beside her, then brings her husband out for the last goodbye. She says she might do some belly dancing inside the house. Kyle says that Rima will be the only married housemate in the house this year. Off she goes.

Straight down to the house. “This is Big Brother, Rory and Brigitte move away from the door and pull up your pants!” Rima enters and introductions all around. Terri loves her. Kyle says that the FNL crew are pumped for the show this week; they cut to the arena where Bree and Mike are. They explain that FNL will be better than ever this year, and Fitzy comes on being the idiot he is saying they better get ready. Mike explains that FNL is 4 nights away. Meanwhile, just before the break, Terri take Rima aside and says that she might not be able to reach the toilet seat. Rima says if she can’t she’ll just talk to BB!

Kyle tells us that the KFC sponsorship is back and you have the chance to win a cool $10,000. Onto housemate 11 now. He says he just scraped through school with a 96.1 TER. He makes himself out to be an outstanding student. He says that he hates slow walkers. He says he’s not doing too badly with the female kind. Ben comes down onto the stage. He says he has the ability to keep his shirt on, rather than take it off. He says he likes to take the piss out of people. He has a photo of his dog that recently passed away, but he puts that on the shelf with the rest of the mementos and off to the house he goes. Straight away he walks in and meets everyone.

Housemate number 12 is Dixie. She loves tomato sauce, but not tomatoes. She says that Aboriginal politics is very important to her. She says she sings the national anthem whenever it’s played. Onto the stage she ventures saying “Oh my gosh, there’s so many people.” She’s never had a boyfriend; maybe she’ll find love inside the house. Her possession is a beanie from her grandmother. She says she’s had it for years and loves it. She leaves it behind, and off to the house she trots. Jackie says that Renee knows Dixie.

Cut to the house where Dixie walks in. They obviously know each other and seem to not hate each other, so that’s a good start. She introduces herself to everyone else. She seems very nice actually this Dixie. Commercial break.

We’re back for the last two housemates. Number 13 is Rebecca, who is a personal trainer by the sounds of it. She says he doesn’t shower without thongs on, and she doesn’t dislike fat people. She works as a barmaid in bikinis and lingerie. She says she wants to move onto bigger and better things now. She is quite attractive. She says she’s a perfectionist. She has a monkey given to her by her sister. Into the house and off the stage for her.

Onto the last housemate, David, who was part of a cult. He says he could never go out and do whatever he wanted, he never kissed girls and never went to the movies. He says he escaped from that life but can now not contact his family who are still in the church cult. He says he was married, but divorced now. He believes in god still, and wants to be happy and not miserable. He comes out onto the stage through the crowd, getting some good cheers. He says leaving the cult was a huge decision for him, but he’s happy he made that choice. Jackie says that his family wouldn’t even know he’s on this show because they don’t watch TV. He has a Canberra Raiders jumper as his memento and exits stage left. He’ll go into the house in just a minute. Commercial break.

Jackie is back at the entrance to the house with David and Rebecca. David doesn’t care how long he is in there, he just wants the experience. They finally are allowed in. Nobbi and Renee are talking on the swing about boyfriends and girlfriends. Renee says she is just seeing someone who is stuffing up her head. Rebecca and David enter and the last introductions for a while. Travis makes a joke about giving Rebecca a hug or a shake of the hand. Over to the bookie who thinks Ben and Rima will be right in the mix as well as Fireman Dave.

Back to the house, Big Brother is about to spoil the party. “Housemates, welcome. It will not have escaped your attention that the house is out of bounds. Your first surprise for BB08 is a bad one. Every year housemates spend many days speculating about who will be first to go. This year, Big Brother has decided to resolve this issue a lot earlier. Housemates, you must decide to evict a housemate by sunrise tomorrow. One of you must go. You will decide amongst yourselves who to evict. Housemates, take this decision very seriously. This is not a twist, take it seriously. Housemates, this is the first of several snap evictions. Good luck, and good night.”

Back at the stage Kyle likes the twist. Jackie says that the process will all be out in the open so it’ll be exciting viewing.

In the house, Brigitte asks if anyone really doesn’t want to be there. Nobbi says that everyone will simply have to vote. Travis says the sooner you decide the quicker we get into the house. David says he wants something to eat before his experience is over!

Jackie tells us that next Sunday they’ll send the 3 most popular housemates. Live streaming will start after Tuesday’s daily show to preserve the eviction secret. Dreamworld says goodnight.

5 days to go!

Hey All,

So we’re just 5 lazy days away from the launch and things are starting to well and truly heat up around here. More and more forum members are joining up each day and more members are stopping by. For example, today up until 5.30pm, we’ve had 550 unique members (members, not guests) drop by and 9 new members sign up. 21 new threads today, and 571 posts in the past 17 hours. Is that enough useless facts for you? Hope so!

As always at this time of year, there is a LOT of info out there. It’s just a matter of trying to figure out whats true and whats just damn ridiculous. Lets hope that the Corey rumour falls into the ridiculous category.

The idea of letting the audience meet some of the housemates before the launch has been great I think. It looks likely that before Sunday we’ll meet 4 of them. However, I’m thinking that these 4 people will be called ‘Gatecrashers’ and won’t actually enter until the Sunday after in the special show. But, could be proven wrong…

I’m hoping 12-14 housemates enter on Sunday night. Thats a nice number. Having 18 in there at once the following week won’t be nice though. 18 is far too many. A few of the duller housemates won’t get any airtime at all, and with the absence of Uplate meaning that even less airtime, they’ll struggle to survive if nominated.

The move to Sunday night for Nominations (basically straight after evictions) will be very interesting to watch. Perhaps they should’ve gone back to what they did in BB1 and just show them in the daily show the following day (The UK still do this), but Network 10 love making programs out of anything, and the nomination show has been around for 7 years so perhaps it’s too much to ask to cut that.

We still don’t know if they’ll be any HD content; I’d suggest since we don’t know anything, there won’t be. Especially with the IPL Cricket being shown on HD for the next couple of months.

The big plus for me this year is the attempt again at a panel show. I REALLY hope it succeeds. It’s got intelligent people on board so it just might. As long as they don’t turn it into a panel Uncut show. Sure, show some mature conversations that can’t be shown during the regular 7:00pm slot, and the occassional nudity moment, but then lets just have some healthy debate around the table.

Moving on, this year at BBBA is looking great. The radio show will be returning May 3rd, so stay tuned for that. This year it’ll be a shorter and sharper show, but many of the best features will be kept (ie the debate, mailbag….now I think about it, the best bits are all my segments ) So please, even if you didn’t listen last year, give us a listen the first week and I’m sure you won’t be disappointed.

User blogs are also introduced for the first time, so you too can ramble on about anything you want. Members can rate other members and if they rate highly enough, you’ll feature prominently on the User Blog page; so please hop to it and start blogging!

And lastly, vibes and I are also working on a Recap Library we hope will go live bit by bit throughout the season.

The forums of course have had a slight redesign as well and are looking great. Where else can you can to hundreds of other obsessed fans of the show? Basically…nowhere!

I’ll be back in a couple of days to give you the rundown of the housemates we’ve met so far.

Until then,
Dave
