Are we seriously getting no live updates at all this year?

Then how do we fight back against Nine?
Maybe not voting, I don't know if it is enough though
Here...
New people to email (leave Alex alone now)
[email protected] - Publicity coordinator
[email protected] - Head of Digital
[email protected] - Nine's social media manager
[email protected] - Nine's director of programming
I honestly believe Alex is somewhat hand tied about the digital stuff.
But at the same time I think he could be more vocal to Channel Nine than he has been. Or he's just checked out of Big Brother altogether... just focusing on maintaining ratings so that once it's over he can GTFO.
Channel Nine is clearly paranoid in the extreme about the digital world and their digital strategy is appallingly bad.
(My day job is managing online marketing and I can give you a long list of everything Nine has done wrong. Their social media management is especially flawed).
Alex is also being given direction from Nine on how the show should look and feel. The difficult part is determining how much of it is Nine or Alex calling the shots.
This latest incident with Jason's brother on Facebook is especially chilling. There's now theories that Channel Nine have paid out Jason's family to appear on ACA to tell their side of the story. It's ratings hunger at its most vile.

So is it budget or ratings that weighs on this decision?
I can't see the live feed videos doing anything BUT increasing ratings.
If it is Nine's decision then Alex could scream black and blue, they very well may have put their foot down.

I should add:
Jump In is a monumental disaster from a user perspective and it has all the hallmarks of a room full of fat old white men with no clue trying to patch something together to appear modern. It is truly a website straight out of 2008 (when Web 2.0 was the fad) with no actual content drivers.

what happened on facebook to do with jasons brother?
He made several comments that his family did not disown Jason, it just took some time to adjust after he told them he was gay and that they are all really proud of him. The Facebook page deleted all his posts and producers must have told him to get off Facebook as you can't find him anymore when searching for the name 'Jonathan Roses'.

If this is so, I will actually never give Channel Nine any more ratings. Maybe a little extreme but seriously? Their attempts at making ratings/stories is disgusting.
What got me the most about the whole Jason story, is they really zoomed in on the non-waterproof mascara, and titled their article about the event "Jason's heartfelt and open 'headline' is a mascara-running tear-jerker"... It's like they want to push the 'gay' stereotype to be shunned by family members because he's gay and flamboyant and he's had such a hard life, and oh look, he's wearing mascara... So 'gay'. Then deleting family members comments?
I'm in a ranty mood. The next time they say #hangry. I'm going to maim a bitch.
Haha! They should have employed you!I should add:

I just want to add to all the people that have said they won't be adding to the ratings, unless you have a ratings box in your house provided by OZtam what you watch does not matter at all.
I think the only way "we" as in the loyal fans can send any sort of message to Nine is to not vote at all. Sure there will be the usual idiot teenage girls who are still voting, but if everyone here on this forum promises that they will not vote AT ALL this year, we might just put a dent (big or small) into the revenue and we all know that Channel Nine are money hungry. If they see that less people are voting they might take a look at what they are be doing wrong and correct it.

I think it will be more effective to make noise. Or as @Tim out it - smear shit on the walls.I just want to add to all the people that have said they won't be adding to the ratings, unless you have a ratings box in your house provided by OZtam what you watch does not matter at all.

Emails, social media -- try to get the MS Media to pick up on it.
I wonder if we could get a change.org petition happening? haha

Why not both?I think it will be more effective to make noise. Or as @Tim out it - smear shit on the walls.

Yeah for sure!Why not both?
I just don't know if there is a big enough 'voting' audience here. As you said, probably the highest spenders and the Tweens where mummy and daddy pay the bills.
Why not both?
Yes why not do both. I won't vote that is sure.
When I spend money I want to get something for it, C9 is not on my list of charities.
Did you happen to post what he said anywhere? And did you get that forwarded email? I just saw it late last night, sorry!I honestly believe Alex is somewhat hand tied about the digital stuff.

without any live aspect to it now, its just become a garden variety reality show - edited to the max for what the producers deem suitable to their version of their storyline they want to depict...
Its no different to The Bachelor, The Block, etc etc put an apron on them give them a bowl of food & they could rip out a Masterchef episode for a night...
Exactly. Pretty sad when I start to think Geordie/Jersey Shore is more real than BB lol

My username is now obsolete but I can't be bothered changing it as I won't be contributing this season. Logged on just to say this years housemates are terrible, and it's been super boring so far. The nepotism of the casting/producers is clearly off the charts. It's not about normal people interacting under duress anymore, it's about fame whores and wannabes doing what they can to become five minute famous.
Without live updates to spice it up it's like watching paint dry. The ratings are going to nosedive.
