Day 34

Footage from the Sunday eviction show. Times are not given.

Ben and George are having breakfast by the pool, and George explains that Ava’s singing last night was really hot. Ben calls it “talented man syndrome” – as soon as some one can hold a tune or play a guitar, “that’s hot”.

Josh tells Michael he would like it if Ray was evicted so he could use the treadmill in the gym area, because he doesn’t want to be around Ray when he does weights. Michael says the way Ray always drops the weights is loud and abrasive, and George kind of does it as well. Conversation then moves on to how George is boring and won’t have an opinion about anything.

Angie jumps up from the pool to ‘scare’ Josh. He says “you’ve got a boogie”. She clears her nose.

The housemates are having a trivia night hosted by Michael. They each have a blackboard which shows their score. At the end of the game the housemate with the lowest score must be the servant of the HM with the highest score. George does terribly, with only 5 points remaining towards the end. Stacey says “show’s you don’t have to be smart to be a millionaire!”.

At the end George takes a guess and gets it wrong, ending up with zero points. Zoe is the winner with 70 points. George smashes his blackboard with his knee. Zoe begins her prize by asking George to put on some lipstick.

All HMs are then called to the diary room, and told that BB kindly lent them some chalkboards, and that one was recklessly destroyed. BB does not enjoy seeing his property destroyed for no reason. For the next 24 hours the gym and swimming pool are out of bounds. If you act like children, you will be treated like children. Stacey exclaims “what about Ray’s guns!?”

Day 33

Footage from the Sunday eviction show. No times are given.

Some time in the morning – Ava and Estelle are toasting their coffees together while dangling their feet in the pool. From the kitchen George jokes the two girls are about to kiss. Bradley adds that they are the “new age lesbian” couple. Estelle tells Ava that they were the topic of conversation “last night” (Estelle and Angie were in the chat room together). Ava says “I love us” and they hug. Back in the kitchen Layla describes it as “that awkward moment when a hug lasts too long”.

Housemates are doing dips and Stacey comments that it’s easy for Ava because she has a small body. Ava is adamant that “it’s not easy” in a very forceful manner, and Stacey is taken back by the response. She later tells Ben “now listen you little tofu lover…”

Ray tells BB in the diary room that Estelle is a chameleon and Ava should be careful about that. Especially if Estelle is evicted, the other housemates might not be so welcoming of Ava after that.

Angie is convinced she’s going to be evicted and tells Layla some parting words: don’t let people push you around because you’re full of opinions and they’re going to be best friends on the outside and will hang out”. George is eavesdropping.

Michael and Josh are feeding each other gravy from a wooden spoon, much to the surprise of Ben.

While lounging, Ray says a good strategy to kiss girls is “rock paper scissors”. George comments that when he was in Melbourne he found it hard to pick up – only twice in a week. Stacey adds sarcastically “oh it’s such a hard life being ridiculously good looking and a millionaire isn’t it”. George’s perfect week was five pickups in a week. Ray’s strategy is to go into a nightclub and find the hottest girl and crack a joke then work his way down to the next level of pretty girl “or I’ll pick up at McDonalds”.

Angie is stressing about being evicted and Michael jokes “I can’t wait till Angie is evicted”. She gets quite frustrated and comes to the diary room. She gets teary and says she doesn’t want to leave yet. It’s been the experience of a lifetime and she’s not ready to give it up yet.

Ben asks Ava to sing for the housemates, which she does while everyone else clicks along.

Angie is sitting alone outside crying.

Double eviction date for your calendar

Not on a Sunday

… well we don’t know for sure but it’s a very likely double (or multiple) eviction date.

Eviction show tickets for the next few weeks have been made available online and reveal there will be no eviction show on Sunday 30th September. Channel Nine don’t want Big Brother getting in the way of their precious NRL Grand Final telecast.

Instead, a special eviction show has been scheduled for Tuesday 2nd October (Day 51).

We’re not exactly sure how it will work given this is the day after nominations, but it’s the right timing during the season for multiple evictions.

Big Brother producers have remained very formulaic this year: they threw in an intruder at the 20-30 day mark (just like the past six seasons!) so a double eviction can be safely predicted around Day 50.

Interestingly, whenever a second round of intruders have entered, it has been around the 50-60 day mark. Time will tell!

Day 32

10.02am – Michael and Zoe are in the Captains Quarters where he explains there are now two groups in the house:

Zoe
Michael
Stacey
Ben
Josh
Bradley
Layla and Angie sort of

And then there’s

Estelle
Ray
George

He adds regardless of how they feel, that’s a group but Estelle is starting to alienate herself. In the bedroom some of the housemates are laughing that Estelle made her side of the bed but not Angie’s (they share a bed). Ben asks which Barbie that is… “that’s Selfish Barbie”. Angie says that’s Pyscho Crazy Barbie. Bradley realises that Estelle is being referred to as Barbie because she has so many different personalities. Ben elaborates that there’s:

Gangster Barbie
Horse Riding Barbie
Mysterious Barbie – she’s the one where you don’t know what she’s going to say.

“Mysterious Barbie, would you like a tea?”
“No, I only eat tofu tea today, MEOW!”

Bradley adds that even so that’s the same person underneath those Barbie clothes. Angie says she’s going to make her side of the bed very pretty and leave Estelle’s as crap. Meanwhile Estelle and Ava are having a dance in the kitchen, to the confusion of George.

Michael is telling Zoe that George is boring. She agrees. “He’s a very interesting character, but he’s that basic bloke who doesn’t have much to say and when he does he sort of laughs it off as if having an opinion is a little bit… whoosy”.

12.13pm – Ava and Estelle are still inseparable, and everyone is still talking about Estelle. Josh says in the kitchen that she’s finding it hard to relate to people because no one knows which Estelle they will get – hip hop Estelle, basketball jersey Estelle, hippy Estelle or what? Zoe mentions the feeling in the house to try and separate Ava and Estelle – Zoe doesn’t think it’s a good idea because Estelle finally has some one. Josh believes it’s good for Estelle but probably detrimental for Ava.

12.51pm – The housemates have passed this week’s task (results weren’t shown). The housemates are now working out budget and Estelle talks a lot until Ben tells her “one at a time”. She then slinks away but initiates a discussion with Ben in the living room later on. She tells him she feels compressed in the house and starts getting teary. Ava, who is next to her, comforts Estelle, then keeps hugging her. She feels that every time she says something some one latches on to it and uses it to criticise her.

Ben says he does agree that Estelle may be more isolate in the house, but he also reminds Estelle not to take it to far and mentions that “everyone would like a go with Ava… she’s not the novelty toy, everyone’s keen, but at the moment there’s a lot of conversations in the house that no one is able to get to know Ava”. Estelle says she heard a conversation where Ben called her Ava’s guard dog. Ben denies this and says he referred to the two of them as the Bobsie twins. They hug and say “we are!”.

Ben reiterates the housemates are feeling as if Estelle is keeping Ava from the rest of the housemates. Estelle gets very upset and says she was just trying to be welcoming to Ava. The conversation goes round in circles and and ends with Estelle feeling that everything is a personal attack on her.

5.41pm – There’s a problem with the weekly shopping – everyone forgot to put any tofu on the list and new housemate Ava is a vegetarian. Angie suggest to Ava she speaks to Big Brother, apparently the other housemates assumed there was still 10kg of tofu in the pantry but that wasn’t the case. Angie gets very frustrated because Estelle started talking over the top of her, and they throw a few comments back and forth about it.

BB has allowed them to swap luxury items for some tofu. It’s revealed that some Tim Tams will be taken and Layla is not happy. She runs to the kitchen with Stacey to sneak some before they’re taken. They’re both not happy because the house is basically on staples again. Layla really, really doesn’t want to give up the Tim Tams. Stacey says “why can’t she eat like a normal person?”

8.45pm – The luxury items are being delivered to the diary room.

Tinned spaghetti
Tinned tuna
Sultana Bran
Hazelnut chocolate
Two packets of Tim Tams

is what Big Brother asks for. Zoe is not happy, Michael asks if there are any “eggceptions” (while holding an egg).

From a distance Layla screams “whyyyy?” upon learning the Tim Tams have to go. Ava is feeling really guilty about it and Josh reminds her that they’re luxury items and people can live without Tim Tams. They hug.

The new chat room is open for two housemates. Ben suggests Angie and Estelle go in to work out their differences and chat about what’s going on. Over some cakes and coffees Angie asks what’s going on with Estelle keeping Ava from the other housemates. She says she doesn’t like what’s going on. The line has crossed past having a giggle and being rude. There should be no division in the house – for example how Ben has been talking about two groups.

Meanwhile in the kitchen Michael predicts that the chat room pair are talking about banal subjects to get around the point that Angie hates Estelle.

Estelle is talking in circles (sorry – can’t even understand what she’s saying for the recap!). BB tells them they have one minute left and Angie concludes asking Estelle to not go on a rampage but bear in mind what people are thinking. Estelle replies:

“People think I don’t notice, I’m just above it, I’m not arrogant but I’m just above it”.

Trolls bullied Ryan on Facebook

"Is this when they educated you?"

‘Friends’ of evictee Ryan Buckingham’s Facebook page have been bombarding his photo galleries with insults including comments calling a him “a retard” and “poof”.

The insults have been posted over the past few years and appear to be from established friends before he achieved Big Brother fame.

In one post, Ryan misunderstands that comments on a photo of a fake pet pig are directed towards him. In another, he incorrectly corrects a user’s grammar, further fuelling the troll insults.

Just today newspapers reported Ryan was awarded a Bachelor of Commerce with article tag-lines “he’s no dumbo”. However the insults on his Facebook page frequently take stabs at his lack of studying.

Here’s some excerpts:

George Pardalis: “May I state the IQ of pigs a quite high certainly superior to Ryans

Chris Kingsford: “This kid is a full blown retard”

Ta-tah Estelle

She was a skater girl, we said seeya later girl

Estelle pink top

Estelle pink topRebel rap girl Estelle will be skating her way out of the Big Brother house this Sunday – according to the latest odds from Centrebet, she’s a sure thing to be evicted.

In what is fast becoming the most predictable Big Brother season eviction-wise, universally panned Estelle is faring at 1.22 to be evicted at the time of posting this article.

To put this into perspective the next likely to be evicted, Angie, is far away at 4.80. The centre of teenage girls’ hearts and voting power is Ray at 7.00.

For the past few weeks Estelle has been listed as the least likely to win the season, coming perpetually last in all winner odds. At the other end of the scale, Michael is still in the lead to be crowned winner of Big Brother 2012.

Stacey however has been quietly climbing up the ranks and is now equal third with George. Josh is coming second. Despite Ray being quite safe from eviction this week he is now least likely to win the season – even intruder Ava has better chance. Here are the full odds at the time of writing:

  • Michael 3.75
  • Josh 5.50
  • Stacey 6.00
  • George 6.00
  • Layla 10.00
  • Zoe 12.00
  • Bradley 12.00
  • Angie 14.00
  • Benjamin 14.00
  • Ava 14.00
  • Ray 15.00
  • Estelle 34.00
