OK, paradoxical night for the To Tang / Tai Trang alliance.
Tai makes his big (lack of a ) move and Jason gets screwed over and loses both his closest ally and his idol.
But now, Tai is in a terrible position. He has an idol and an advantage, sure. But both Dan Foley and Stephen Fishbach went home the night they used an advantage. Also, the Second Chance advantage, which filmed right after this one, was altered, which I doubt they would have done if this one plays out successfully. Tai has a target, has lost at least 2 jury votes, which doesn't matter because no one would take him to the end, anyway. And he is now aligned with the two people seemingly best able to challenge him in the challenges he is good at, where he could typically beat Scot and usually beat Jason on the type of endurance tasks they have at the end.
Jason, though, is looking great. He went from leader of an alliance to the game's biggest goat. He has no idol, no allies, is hated by everyone - why wouldn't you drag him to the end? If you sit beside Aubry, Sydney or Tai, you lose. Why would Beauty want to take them? Joe is probably the only person who can't beat Jason, in their minds. But actually, he has Nick and Scot's vote already, so who knows.
I'm really enjoying Aubry, but don't see her making it to the end. Although, the way they have toned down the explosive aspect of the challenges, possible because of Beast Mode beast moding his way out of the game, means she has a legit chance of an immunity run once Tai and Sydney go.
This season is great fun to watch - I'm certainly enjoying it more than Cambodia.
