The Fitbit Cult

Maybe your fitbit is faulty? Or you move around a lot in your sleep?

Yeah I think it must be. I am a terrible sleeper so I can believe it some nights but I'm not sure. I borrowed my mum's once and it said I slept 7hours.

I definitely do move around in mu sleep though.

Silly fitbit. I move around a lot in my sleep too. Like my body is possessed by the devil.

I've long suspect my Fitbit is full of lies with my sleep, I shall take this as proof, especially since I actually felt I slept alright last night.

Yes I suspected that as well ....... can you get a replacement or test it out on someone else? Or I wonder what would happen if your wore one on each wrist?

Maybe cancel that thought .........

I tired it just once with someone else's and recorded a great sleep, but it's not conclusive enough. I have considered wearing one on each wrist even two on one, just need to find one that someone will part with for a week. If it wasn't totally ridiculous I'd buy a new one to experiment, the flex is reasonably priced right now I think.

My name is Trala. My weight is an all time high of 82.6kg. My BMI is 26. This means I am overweight. My best weight for me is 78kg. I need to lose 4.6kg. With a plan I see this as doable. Today I throw out what is left of the Buttercake!!!!

Exercise Plan

Daily
30 min walk
20 min cycling
10 min sit-ups/arm weights

Mon Wed Fri
30 min yoga

Diet plan

3
meals a day, focusing on portion size
Carrot sticks, celery sticks, cottage cheese as snacks
Hot cocoa and 4 pieces chocolate for dessert
No eating after 7pm

I am going to log my end of day progress and struggles and success, if anyone would like to join me, I would love to work towards our goals together. My Fitbit is charged and I am ready to SLAY!

:)

What is your height?

I'd love to know HOW I take 20 steps whilst sleeping (and no - I don't sleep walk ... and no I didn't get up to go to the loo in the middle of the night)

I also know I HAVE to get more sleep - I'm averaging about 6 hours a night which is not enough.

I just have the basic fitbit - almost wish I got the one that would map my walk because then I might want to beat it but I couldn't justify the extra $$ in case the novelty wore off!

Jessy, have you tried the sleep-cycle app? I have stopped using it now, but it used to show some accurate looking charts of my sleep cycle. And occasionally I would take a sleeping pill and it would show 6 - 7 hours of quite different looking sleep. 'Deep' sleep but you could see it was 'chemical' sleep because in contrast to my normal sleep I apparently didn't move (hardly) at all... Available in iOS and android. I used iOS. And it claims to wake you from your lightest sleep phase, and it probably does, but I really just used it to track what my sleep looked like, not as an alarm.

I would say you bumped your wrist around in the bed.

I am a great sleeper so there is no need for me to track sleep. I would average 9 hours a night over a week. I think the secret to my good sleep is routine. If I deviate from my routine, out for dinner, late shift etc I will get 5 hours.

I have the basic too. I lost it for a few months, then it turned up in a pair of shorts after having a swim in my washing machine... Again.

Thanks for the soup recipes :)[DOUBLEPOST=1466390871][/DOUBLEPOST]

If you are Rainman!

ha! this reminds me of my brotherinlaw commenting about a coworker who would sit at her desk eating and waving her hand around in the air ... she was getting her steps up by cheating the fitbit. what a doofus - who did she think she was fooling in the end?
