Last movie you saw

Whoever didnt like Cloverfield doesnt have an open mind...I can guarentee that there will be a 2nd one to tie up loose ends, The characters asked questions in the film so that we would have questions after the film, J.J Abrams does this on purpose, he does it with Lost as well

P.S...Anyone that has seen Cloverfield that loves Lost too? Did you notice that the second last recorded footage was May 23rd at 6:42? And the last footage seen was on April (the 4th month) 17 at 6:18, and 6+1+8 = 15 and 1+7+6+1+8 = 23...just thought I'd point that out :D

SPOILER TAGS PEOPLE!!!

While you haven't given away too much information there, this is a basic movie thread where people are mainly sharing whether it's good or not. There are some of us out here that don't want to know much at all about the movie till we see it.

First up... The Kite Runner
What can I say? I LOVED this film thorugh and through. It is certainly not for everyone, but I'm tempted to say very much that this will most probably be my number one movie for the 2007/2008 season, despite loving so many other films form the last year with much adoration. What sets it apart from other films for me? The fact that it gave me a new understanding of things I couldn't really comprehend before. It is such a BEAUTIFUL, funny, but also frightening film at times; and I came out bawling, as did many others all around me - I think I cried something like 5 times throughout the whole film, it's just... well, I can't put my finger on it.

I've just finished reading the novel rabymon and cannot wait to see the movie. I'm glad you enjoyed it and now i look forward to seeing it even more.

Finally saw I am Legend.
So, it's a big budget American version of "28 Days Later".
Inexplicably, my wife wanted to see it... she being the Romantic Comedy fan that she is.
She, and the other ladies that came along found the first half of the film "boring".

A single guy with no-one to talk to bothered them, though personally I found that the best part of the movie. They required more words.
I could of course make a very sexist remark about this.

A single guy with no-one to talk to?

Just like Tom Hanks in "Castaway" but with a better body and no Vince Martin coffee pouring cameo.

You inspired me to get 'The Descent'. I'm up to the bit where the first scary bit is (think, drinking stagnant water), but I'm too scared to go on, I'm frigging terrified. I wiki'd it so I know the plot, but I'm still to scared to continue . Is it REALLY scary?

I just love caving movies. My favourite film as a child was "Journey to the Centre of the Earth", and I sometimes go black water rafting / caving.

But I also like the creatures in the film. You don't see them until they get deeper into the cave, apart from the little critter you see in the background at one point near the start.

That was a book, right? (Journey to the Centre of the Earth) I must say, if it is the same one, I don't know if I would WANT to see the movie, as I have such vivid images that I have in my mind of their journey, and wouldn't want to be dissapointed.

Oh, and you didn't answer my question about the rest of 'The Descent' being scary .

Have you seen the creatures yet, where you're up to?

The creatures are pretty scary. It's kind of like an X Files episode. Reminds me of the man-worm that was a mutation caused by nuclear contamination in the Ukraine. Remember when the manworm went down the pipe from the portaloo?

ROFL :D

OMG I so remember that it was totally burned into my memory , didn't want to get into a lift, or go on a toilet for yonkers! I'm up to the bit where Sarah sees the creature, then he runs away. I stopped it there, cause I was reading about it on Wikipedia, and it seemed like it was going to get much nastier :(. Oh and the broken leg? Eeeeeeeeeeeeeew and ouuuuuuuuuuuuuuch!

I might start a thread : what is the saddest tear jerker movie you ever saw? And please don't say ET!

The best movies are the ones you cry in as everyone knows. LOTR excepted. Peter Jackson doesn't do pathos very well, I don't think.

The Kite Runner! Seriously devastating in so many ways as far as I'm concerned.

Does "Notes on a scandal" qualify as sad?

There was also an old one I think with Michael Douglas about a man
who in one day loses his mind and you see as his character just
disentegrates on screen emotionally and all.

Dragon Wars.
A Korean movie with dragons. What else could you ask for?
The actors are bad, the script dumb, the plot meaningless.

But the Asian dragons are pretty damn cool.
Dragons vs Apache helicopters in the middle of a city is well worth the cheesiness surrounding it.

she's the man.. absolutely love it..

i will be watching juno on wednesday
and sweeney todd on thursday (however i dont want to.. but its my friends bday)

I love Scary Movie 2 and 4.

Think two's the best though - love Hanson :) "Are you scared child?" Let me sing to ya "
