Last movie you saw

I'm hearing mixed reviews about "I am Legend" - a lot of people didn't like the ending it seems, cos it was kind of rushed.

It was,a nd the worst thing is, they could have made it closer to the book, and SO MUCH BETTER. Several moments in the movie still made me cry like a baby though.

Well they changed the ending, and this ending imo would have been loads better.
But it's Hollywood:rolleyes:

It's still a good movie, and one you think about for a while afterward but it's just that it could have been so much better.

It's like "The Descent" - really enjoyed that movie and although a bit confused/let down by the ending I still rate the movie highly.

Darn, I always drop my best (or only good) one liners when I wasn't even trying.

:)

"The Descent" is quite decent, not to be confused with another film of the same name from 07. The one I'm talking about is at least 2 years old and features a group of girls who go caving somewhere in the backwoods of Kentucky or some such place. And there's cave dwelling creatures.

And I finally got to see this but have mixed feelings.

I also got the awful horror movie Mansquito. Both from
Amazon but I like bad horror movies.

ok , after seeing cloverfield today ...

this link IS a very good representation of the monster from it..

specially the first few drawings....

SPOILER
http://www.filmschoolrejects.com/news/cloverfield-update-fans-draw-the-cloverfield-monster.php

obviously done by people who had seen it...

and a very good film by the way , very well done , felt like you were part of the action..

like blair witch project it uses hand held cameras so it looks like someone shot it on video camera, so if you cant handle bumpy camera movements, give it a miss...

movie startsoff slow with loads of relationship drama , and just when you start to notice nothing has happenned yet..... it does....

and then it REALLY does.....

and the relationship drama gives the main characters their "mission" if you like...
the effects are great for a small budget (30 mill) mmovie.

and it employs much of the alien type of tension by failing to give you a GOOD look at the bad guy till late in the film...

good stuff...

I was really surprised to see The Descent made into a movie. I picked up the book on a $5 table outside a newsagent.

The movie is sort of based on the opening premise of the book which goes far far deeper into the culture of the underground dwellers.

But didn't the ending disappoint you?

The Science of Sleep....very entertaining in an off-beat kind of way

I saw Cloverfield today as well. I loved the 'slow' beginning, it managed to say so much about the characters and make us care about them, rather than just have them as ciphers to be knocked off by the monster. But it was funny at the end hearing the response of other audience members ("Is that it??") Oh well.

The way in which (trying not to be spoiler-y) events would just kind of erupt without warning was awesome.

there are some great "beasties" of the deep .... the cloverfield monster is not one of them ;)

All I have to say is that I loved Cloverfield, was very frightening and real... especially when the sound system is turned right UP... I mean to the point where it shook the cinema sometimes - now that is scary!

I've noticed some people from other boards have complained that the characters weren't likable, so you didn't really care for them as they got picked off. I say who really gives a shit. These are supposed to be randoms that we're following around, not lovable huggables like the Brady Bunch. We're just getting in on the action from their particular view point, not invested into their story. We don't care, we're not supposed to, but to only think of our own sorry selves if we're ever put into the same situation.

Does it live up to all the hype being an OMIgodZ, iTz was the most MinDBLowinGEst mOvie ever!!!!!!... not particularly, but it does what it does very well, and I am more than satisfied.

That is all.
