Housemate Hunt 2014

Should also note that the mum and daughter today were quite fascinating to watch ... The mum was outspoken has three girls and two jobs and wants a break I think she wanted to be a housemate more than the daughter tbh

I wonder if producers were vaguely aware of you since you at least made it that far last year, I guess that they see a lot of people nationwide.

Well back in 2012 when I first attended the Gold Coast auditions for my first time ever.. The producers + staff already, well and truly knew who I was..
Because after being told that I didn't make it onto round 2.. my casting producer pulled me aside, double checked that I was Robbie and then handed me a printed piece of paper and she told me to remember that "big brother is.. always watching" and then sent me on my way.
The paper she gave me.. was a letter from "big brother" that said that big brother is always watching and keeps a keen eye on his fans..
and then it showed my then 2012 profile from the behind big brother forums.
The letter went onto say that the behind big brother site should continue to do as it always has and that big brother really appreciated us as fans of the show.
Since then.. a lot of people think that, the association to this site could be a reason to be held back..
Also since then.. I changed my profile a bit, to reveal less obvious info about myself and took a better look into my privacy settings :p

I'm Robbie's friend that he's been talking about! We met at the 2012 auditions and have been friends ever since! Anyway yes I couldn't audition in Brisbane due to work commitments but flew down to Sydney to try my luck.
This is my fourth series that I have tried for and each year it gets harder and harder. Yesterday I rocked up really early (7am) to my surprise not a lot of people were there. Which was weird because compared to last year and the year before we got there at 6am and it was packed .. People lining up all night. This years numbers has been really low. It took all up an hour were as previous years it would take at least 4 hours. Well, I'm glad I made the trip to Sydney even though I didn't get in. I got to meet Tim Jade and Tully. On Saturday morning I asked Jade for advice, she said be loud and get noticed. I did that yesterday and didn't make it past round one. They chose a loud mouthed lesbian, a quiet older guy, some old dude with a beard and a girl who was really annoying.
I decided to try my luck again today, they remembered me from yesterday and wrote both numbers on my form... Tim Jade and Tully were nowhere to be seen though :( anyway again I walked straight in sat down waited for twenty minutes and they called my name. I just noticed the vibe and energy of contestants have not been as strong as previous years. Oh I did see a few people that were fast tracked go straight to round 2. Same old games as yesterday. I felt more relaxed and myself today. Interestingly they chose 4 of us for round 2... Getting to round 2 has been an achievement for me.. Anyway we waited for around half an hour and chatted, then we walked into a room of producers and they asked us if we know each other before today - there was this mother/daughter pair I met in round 1. The mother was loud and outspoken where as the daughter was really quiet and seemed ticked off that the mother was getting all the attention. I wouldn't be surprised if those two actually get into the house. It was a no for me after round 2. :/ But a great experience.
I think they know what they want already ... Obviously they want couples and people over 30..
Still won't stop me from trying again!

Hey Cliff, that was an interesting read! Thanks so much for sharing that! :) I was just wondering if you could do me a quick favour? Could you go into a bit more detail in regards to the people who made it through to Round 2 and Round 3 on both days that you attended? Like tell me more about the loud mouthed lesbian, the older guy with the beard, the older quite guy. Thanks mate!

Wow, that's insane! I can definitely understand the desire to keep your profile private then, how bizarre for them to single you out like that though. I'm not sure I really see the big deal with a member of this site being a HM, but I guess they have their reasons. I think it would be incredibly easy for a member of production to link my profile here to me, but I guess it doesn't really bother me too much if they do.

Kind of weirder still then that you made it to round 3 then, considering that. Either they really don't keep tabs on people from year to year or they realised its not such a big deal, but definitely a fair warning to heed.
 
maybe the 'upwards' is referring to the age of HMs, they will be over 30. even 2 houses, older ones inside and younger ones outside (outwards)?

No problem! Well on Saturday there was 5 I think they chose to go to round 2... A loud mouth lesbian girl. She was there really early was quite nice enough, there was an older guy with a beard, he's been trying since 2012 as well and they picked him for round 2, don't remember too much about those two tbh. There was an older quiet geeky guy who didn't say much, he had never been in love and has never lived in a house with so many people, he seemed shy and very quiet... Sadly that day I didn't make it to round 2
Today they chose 4... The mother who was outspoken, opinionated going yet chatty and friendly and the daughter, more quiet reserved and laid back, there was another girl they picked interestingly enough she was quite tall and attractive.
In round two there was about 10 of us. But the only two that got chosen for round three was the mum/daughter. Everyone else got sent home. They kept asking about if we knew each other and how friendly we would get etc...

Ok thanks heaps for that Cliff :) I appreciate it. Just 1 quick question, did the Mother and Daughter pair audition individually or as a duo? Because I thought friends and family couldn't audition together?

So what kinds of things did you have to do/talk about in round 2?
I wonder why they are so interested in people knowing others? Perhaps it's a clue to the theme this year.

They were both In my group so obviously they auditioned together, a lot have been this year, obviously bb has changed the rules

It was a group discussion with about 4 of the producers. Basically shot us questions like do you believe in same sex marriage, what do you think about PM, one thing about you II[DOUBLEPOST=1397394673][/DOUBLEPOST]Stuff

The lesbian is in that photo... She's in the white shirt and black jumper, she'd make a great hm... The chick in the onesie I can't remember if she did or not make it through,
