I think they must have at least 2 weeks + to have everything done as the time frames do seem very odd - A slab does not take one week - even if it was quickset concrete - it's still a thick slab of concrete.

I with they would be more upfront about the actual times. That goes for many shows.

I would expect the majority of the general public have 'zero design concepts' - Aussies certainly are not known for being especially tasteful or elegant or artistic as a community.
For example Japanese or French are famous for being stylish and elegant as a community.
How many people do you know with stylish homes? I think I have met less than a handful in my life, and those generally had professional help. Most just have bland and practical homes - and a whole lot have hideous, cluttered, fussy, overstuffed messes.
Or the opposite barren lino palaces, with concrete yards.
Look at how ugly too many buildings are outside? You don't think that carries on inside?
The winners - explain they have a few days off between renos, to recover no doubt.
It looks to me like the tassie couple................she moved in for this competition, and if they hadn't made the cut, she would have moved out.
I really feel like these 2 met at the divorce proceedings of the exes, and decided this would be a great revenge.
They keep saying if the house doesn't work out she will move out, what???
Why wouldn't you just sell, and try to get a bigger place?

Didn't Grant say that he loved that house and fought really hard to keep it (I'm assuming he fought to keep it in the divorce/break up).

Oh, I'm not judging them - perfectly fine by me to enter RTV with whatever motives you want.
RTV is out to exploit people in the end - so any contestants that can exploit the format, fine and dandy by me, it's a tiny thing compared with the millions of bucks they make out of these shows.
But, I just like considering what does motivate people within these shows.

Perhaps he did fight really hard to keep it, and Brooke fought really hard to move in and have a man with assets look after her and her spawn and provide a roof over their head.
This is why I love reality TV. I am probably very wrong and they're probably a lovely couple, but I don' care 'bout thangs like that! It's TV and they're being portrayed horribly. Besides, who doesn't love being judgemental when it comes to people they don't know (especially when you're sitting on the couch in your underwear eating icecream haha)

My ex is in Tassie.
He repartnered for a bit, with a Tasmanian who made his life a misery, and during our relationship another cow tried to break us up.
I found the some of the natives in Tassie very predatory, towards him and me.
And whilst I lived there, a woman I was friendly with found out her whole social group had been wife/hubbie swapping for years behind her back.
I have fond and strange memories of my time there.

I agree - always feel we seem to jump quite quickly to the second half of the week. Also think in cases like this it would be better just to say they're getting extra time due to the extension. I think if they did we wouldn't doubt it so much.
Doesn't matter so much about outlining time between renos - I certainly never assumed they roled from one to another without a break anyway. Each 7 day reno takes 8 days to film, then it's another day for judging and the reveal (possibly separate days even), then another day at home base. So that's 10 days per 7 day reno without extra time - I think they deserve 4 days off before the next one. If they're not allowed to return home though do they at least get to return to their family - three months away from 7 kids is a big ask.
House reveal tonight! I wonder who will be in the tent??

Can't wait to see Brooke and Grant score all the teams super low, the other teams reactions are going to be so funny.... didn't they realised that it is a competition and it's not meant to be fair.
Yup! They're going to nit pick like crazy. The "top" score will be a 6 I reckon

No surprise they scored tactically - even the high score of 7 for supposedly perfect rooms they didn't point out a fault with was harsh, but the 5's were especially harsh. If you're scoring tactically you keep them above a 6 unless they really are below par.
Carole and Russell really hit the mark this week - apart from maybe dropping the mirror above the fireplace and the wardrobes not being to my taste in the bedroom I couldn't fault them. Actually agreed with Brooke about Candy and Ryan's meat safe - it's horrid! They did well this week though but I thought their kitchen would have been criticised more for not really hitting the rustic theme - they accessorised it well and that benchtop was clearly a great choice but the actual kitchen didn't fit IMO.
Maddie and Lloyd suffered most from the split zone - understand why they split the teams between the old and new part of the house but would have made much more sense for the dining room to be considered one zone with the kitchen. Wasn't a fan of their bedroom to be fair, but I'm not a 5 year old girl. Had to laugh at the judges comment about her replacing the mural with pics of Brad Pitt in ten years time - a 15 year old girl with pics of a 60 year old isn't creepy at all!
Story of two halves for Adam and Lisa - bedroom was a bit of a disaster but I think they've done the best laundry so far. Their tactic of "it we hate it Brooke will love it" paid off, and I think had that been judged as a room in it's own right it would probably be top scorer.
Bomber and Mel - not a fan of their bedroom at all, while that vanity unit everyone praised seemed far too big for a bathroom that small IMO, and thought the showpiece item of the bath was rather hidden away. I know space was limited but didn't think that bathroom was anything special at all - though as I've said all week the plans drawn out by the show don't really always make the best use of space.
Anyway - maybe it's because we've had no Brooke for a week but Bomber is really getting on my nerves now. Really liking Mel though - she's come across really well in the last couple of weeks. Would like to see something pay off for Adam and Lisa too, though I don't think Adam and Lisa or Brooke and Grant will be getting their gardens done!

My thoughts exactly. Overall the house was absolutely gorgeous!! Much nicer than the previous renos. I hope they remain at the bottom and get eliminated. Even when they were walking through the house for the first time Grant was complimenting everything and Brooke was like nope, nope don't like it, nope. I really felt for Adam and Lisa this week. Lisa is growing on me.. I think they've definitely got more in them!
I thought there was a lack of sofa space for nine people, something the judges didn't seem to notice.
Candy & Ryan should have chosen country style cabinet doors in their kitchen but they just went with plain modern ones.
And I couldn't understand why Candy said something about the stove having sentimental value for Brooke.... and then Brooke actually said the same thing? WTF? It's a STOVE!
Overall I hated the house, I couldn't live there, but then thankfully it wasn't done for me.
