šŸ‡ŗšŸ‡ø BBUS 26 - starts 17 July

BB USA
Biggest let down of the season so far has been the fact that powers aren’t required to be kept secret. Unless she’s completely backed in to a corner there’s no way in hell MJ will use Americas Veto.

Also as HG’s were required to keep their votes secret means they have the Deepfake HoH power narrowed down to Quinn or Leah which again means it’s unlikely to be used unless absolutely necessary.

My initial excitement about Leah has dissipated and with her being a pretty minor character I can’t see it being advantageous for Quinn to using his power to pin things on her.

I've never found Big Brother remotely entertaining when they have one person who'll just argue with anyone and everyone for no reason other than their own insecurities. Housemates like that make the show unwatchable rather than entertaining.
I think your take is only applicable if you see Matt as a victim. The hero’s edit he was given is exactly why the show benefits from increased transparency rather than cutting away from anything that could potentially be controversial.

Wow as ridiculous as Angela’s behaviour was in tonight’s episode I am thoroughly entertained and looking forward to her downfall. I must say for someone who’s crossed the line a few times this season I respect the fact that she’s willing to reflect and offer an apology.

Done a little bit of a 180 here… Angela should be a case study on how it’s not necessarily the content of/intent behind what you’re saying but why it’s important to consider how what you’re saying ā€˜could’ be perceived. What Angela said about ā€œthat crewā€ in tonight’s episode was tactless and T’Kor was merely asking her to consider how it could have been perceived.

Just like last week, her attacks on Matt were purely game and calling him ā€œcrazy eyesā€ was merely pointing out his tendency to make weird faces when shocked/being intense but were perceived as being potentially racist/bullying.

I’m still finding her story arch entertaining and I’m able to understand her intent but hope she can look back at her time in the house and see where she went wrong and how she can move forward in a better way.

Something about this season… in terms of what’s acceptable in the modern era it’s definitely walking a fine line but I’d say it’s the most ā€œold schoolā€ season we’ve had in a very long time.

I’m turning off Angela more as the season progresses but respect her as a villain. Keeping her this week was to an extent a vote for more chaos and unpredictability. I do think the HG’s possibly see her as someone they can ā€œuseā€ moving forward but I also think like the fans they respect that she’s playing with her gut instinct. It’s ā€œkeep your friends close and your enemies even closerā€ style move.

As for allegations of bullying, I think she’s 100% walking a very fine line BUT I’m of the belief that ā€œbullyingā€ especially in the context of BB is much more involved than what Angela has been doing.

As far as I’ve seen there hasn’t been a power imbalance and while Angela might have overblown Matt’s threat or mocked Lisa but neither were on an island. Rallying votes is a huge part of the game. She might lack tact but at this point her apologies do seem like they’ve been more than simply a sorry not sorry. IDK hopefully that made sense.

Interesting that this season I’m really starting to see that the real villain has been the fans/BB influencers. Trying to provide my opinion last night on Twitter was pretty challenging. So many people were completely missing the point about perception.

It’s definitely taken me a very long time to fully understand just how much perception can matter and no matter the situation you can’t lose by taking a moment to reflect on how one can improve. I used to spend so much time being frustrated over why I was always the bad guy no matter and why I was so misunderstood. I mean I still do but I’ve also learned that being able to express my intent while also asking how I can improve/express myself better is much more productive.

Great post Kingston.

I've given up on the show this year, partly because of Angela and partly because of the Olympics. Worth noting though one thing those who may be considered to have a problematic pattern of behaviour are known for is being very good at apparently sincere apologies. And then inevitably repeating their behaviour.

I'd like to think the AI Twist is on the viewers and Angela is actually a 20-something douchebag male or bitchy female who when acting in that manner would usually get the hatred of the BB fanbase. Wrap it up in a 50-something female package and the reception seems to be quite different.

Just shows though how the social experiment aspect of the show is still alive and well and despite it's competitive format, or perhaps because of it, it's probably been more evident in BBUSA in recent years than any other version.

Personally I’m loving this season. Angela is a vile woman but I am not gonna even pretend that I’m not enjoying watching her. It’s good TV in my opinion. As for bullying, in my opinion she is on her own. No one is on her side and she’s just being a really nasty person. I was on both Matt and Lisa’s sides on their respective blow ups with Angela, but I don’t think it’s as bad as what’s happened in the past.

I see it as Angela is a crazy, toxic loner in the house and no one even remotely takes her seriously and she’s the one causing drama. This is GIVING old school BB. Angela is such a typical early boot type of character from older BBUK and BBAU. The narrative in the episodes feels so character and dynamics focused if more than ever. This is the first season I’ve watched since BB16 where it’s really feeling like BB to me again. I like the cast. A lot.

Chelsie played a very safe and boring HoH, she’s not going to be in any danger for a decent while now, but a passive player like her made for a pretty lame week 2 after a great week 1. I personally wanted Lisa to go, as I felt she offered the least of the three nominees.

IDK to me Angela is entertaining and I can’t wait for her next blow up and I can see such a sharp downward fall from her. She is probably one of the worst players of all time. But she’s going to leave her mark, and if she survives till jury phase this season could very well likely be remembered as the season with Angela.

After getting back into BBUS since 22 this is the first time I’m satisfied with the drama. 22 & 23 were IMO not very entertaining. Both had potential but it just didn’t pan out the better way for either. At least 23 has the historic Cook out alliance. And 24 I skipped at the time due to the unlikeable cast and treatment of Taylor, but I just watched it in full leading up to 26, and whilst I don’t love the cast the gameplay was fluid and the endgame was intensely interesting. 25 had a solid cast but not equitable comps which ruined what it could have been (also zombie week…).

But this season seems to have a great cast and a lot of fluidity in the gameplay. It will have to continue to play out for me to actually see if I’m enjoying it. It took me about till week 6 last year to get a decent feel of the season and cast. So let’s see! But I’m optimistic as I’m enjoying what’s been shown to me so far.

I am not thrilled about Cedric winning the HoH comp, I just feel like he’ll do the same thing as Chelsie did last week

and what a surprise, Cedric nominated Angela, Kenny and Tucker. The same people as Chelsie last week…. I hope someone else outside of that circle of people wins HoH. Give me another messy Angela week!

Just took an edible after watching the canal pride parade in Amsterdam. Time to relax and watch some live feeds!

So might be tempted back this week as:
Anerica's Veto has been used. Sadly Angela was saved first so won't be eligible.

Wow easily the best 3 weeks of BB we’ve had in years… Also IMO best twist we’ve had since Americas Player in terms of actually changing things up and keeping both the HG’s and the viewers on their toes.

Tucker is easily my favourite, not just because he’s insanely hot but because he’s a man of chaos. Any other season volunteering to be a pawn would be a weak move but he seems to have figured out that there’s a decent amount of power in winning either the Veto or the AI Arena. Also clocking Quinn as easily one of the most insulted players šŸ‘ŒšŸ». Also saving Angela vs himself… Not only is she an easy target/shield, she’s easily manipulated, and completely unpredictable.

I completely agree with everything. We had a great week 1, a decent week 2 and a really intriguing week 3. This season is feeling so much more like old school BB than it has in years.

Now that I’ve caught up on BB24, I can say with confidence that I’ve been really impressed with BBUS post All Stars 2. Specifically the casting. And I agree America’s veto is a great twist, viewer participation is always great to keep everyone on edge. Ugh this is great.

Tucker is deliciously sexy. And so entertaining. He’s chaotic, he’s funny and he’s willing to blow shit up. Most people just come in and try to be the next Dan or Derrick. It’s refreshing to see a player just try and have fun with it. And I also like that he’s using the AI arena comp to his benefit. Although from the live feed updates I’ve read, the edit was really kind to him this episode. Apparently he was told by Cedric they don’t have the votes to in-act the Quinn move, and Tucker said he was still going through with the plan anyway. But I’d have to look into it more.

I really like that the comps have been pretty equitable so far, and all 6 HoH and veto winners have been a different person which is absolutely insane for not only modern BB, but BB in general. The first 3 HoH winners and first 3 veto winners have not been all different players since BB3! That’s a 22 year streak broken!

And personally, I’m thrilled Angela has another week. I want to see more pathetic drama from her.
