BBUS 26 - starts 17 July

Looks like we have a new logo. Going to echo something @Zcsund1234 mentioned last year… Loving that they’ve dropped the summer/pool/beach vibe in favour of something more traditional.

Loving it too! I always found it cringe how over the last decade the show has been advertised with the summery vibe attached to it. This feels way more traditional as you say. Feels more “Big Brother”.

I’m getting very keen for this season, I feel like the casting was done really spot on last year and the only thing I really want to see is competition equity.

Hopefully this is will be a fun ride.

The summer vibe never really made much sense especially when in modern seasons the house is in lockdown the majority of the week for comp setup/tear down.

That part always made little sense to me too. I feel like last year when I would watch feeds then backyard was closed almost half the time. For a show with a “summer” vibe, the most summery area of the house was probably the least shown.

Hopefully they continue with some original competitions like they did during Reindeer Games, instead of just putting a new coat of paint on the ones that have been done to death at this point.

That logo feels in keeping with the style of the titles they had last year so suspect we'll have something similar just with the new logo at the end.

I doubt we'll get it especially with rumours of the house moving but would like a new front of the house too.

Can live with 24 hours if it makes for a better premiere. Never understood why they used to send them in an entire week early, especially when the premiere often only covered Day 1.

I quite like the house design, even though the bedrooms are fucking ugly as hell. And I also do not mind the AI theme, since technology has always been a secondary theme of the show in the modern day it was inevitable that AI would soon be incorporated eventually. It is giving me BB20 vibes. Although, I strongly suspect they will use it to death.

They have also gone wayyyy overboard with the amount of sitting areas, and as said on reddit there seems to be far too many beds for 16 houseguests.

I don't think they'll make proper use of AI. From the press release:
  • But then…when the prompt was given to create the Have-Not Room, “BB AI” crashed and left only a wireframe skeleton bedroom.
That's nothing more than a cute story to sell the room design.. at the end of the day, the only AI they'll really make use of will be the one they've been using all the time: Allison Interference.

Nowadays a Big Brother house is usually just a Big Brother house - if it's AI themed it's very subtle other than what is assumed to be the "have not" room, which is probably nicer on the eye at least than two of the other bedrooms.

Have we seen the sideroom (by the bathroom) in the pics?

I don't think so but the room doesn't exist as a separate room anymore. They've turned it into a gym a couple of years ago and merged it with the bathroom. Both areas share the same design now and there is no door between these two parts anymore but there is now a door before the gym/bathroom, thus separating the whole area (and not just the side room) from the kitchen.

It's a very rough drawing but that's kinda like how it looks now:

But this year, they've added an additional seating area between the kitchen and living room (right when you enter the house):

Also: How can they say that AI is taking over but then not having the Chenbot doing the house tour?

Saying they’ve turned the room in question in to a gym is a bit misleading as from BB6 through BB11 it was the gym.
