Last movie you saw

I can't wait to see Sweeney Todd, very excited about that one :D

This is NOT one to take your daughter to molloch! ;) And you're gonna have to look around a bit, because it's on a limited theatrical release here... even more than it was in the States. But at last, only two more sleeps until you can Attend the Tale of Sweeney Todd. Cannot wait to see it again!! :D:D

limited release? thats freaking shithouse... probably wont come my way, cos newcastle people apparently dont watch that.... aaaagggghhhhhhhhhh

Dragon Wars.
A Korean movie with dragons. What else could you ask for?
The actors are bad, the script dumb, the plot meaningless.

But the Asian dragons are pretty damn cool.
Dragons vs Apache helicopters in the middle of a city is well worth the cheesiness surrounding it.

That sounds COOL..............

What did you think of Reign Of Fire?

I never saw Reign of Fire. I'll have to give it a look.
Haven't seen DragonHeart either.
Terribly behind in my dragon movies.

What I did see and was blown away at the time was Dragonslayer.
It was made pre-CGI, but the dragon in it was so brilliantly done. Very smooth moving puppetry, I think, but at the time it completely stumped me how they did it.

Dragon Wars sort of has more of a connection with Godzilla movies.

LOL rabymon, don't worry i had no intention of taking her to see this one.

My boss at the drive in has said he may run it as the second act of the double feature but he won't be showing it as a new release. When i asked him why he said that not too many people want to see a horror musical. I replied, "I do". And he said, "yes but you're weird"

Hehehehe

Million Dollar Baby last weekend on TV, plus saw Castaway again on DVD

Love these 2 movies, Will watch them evey year I think
Totally different to the norm Hollywood endings

Wilsooooooon :D

That was really sad when he lost Wilson, I almost cried :(

lol The music makes me laugh in that vid, and with only seeing just this snipit without the rest of the beginning... Too funny :p But sad when you watch the whole thing :(

Wednesday night went to see Juno... Absolutely LOVED it.. Was a quirky movie but could happily sit through it again..

Sort of reminded me of Napolean Dynamite the way in which it was filmed..not similar in any other way though...lol
Anyone else think that? Are they directed by the same person? Perhaps I will google to find out..

Sweeney Tood The Demon Barber of Fleet Street...
How could you not want to see this :)

Anything with Johnny Depp (the man that in my perfect world would be my lover/husband etc) will get me to the cinema faster than you can say...21 Jump Street.

Particularly loved him in 'The Man Who Cried'

Johnny Depp in a word........phwoooaaaaarrrrrr

Damn writers strike though, he just won Golden Globe for Sweeney Todd and I never got to see him get it... Hope the strike ends before the Oscars and he manages to beat out favourite Daniel Day Lewis for that one.. Depp = drool worthy tv viewing.

Well, saw two
Sweeny Todd
In spite of a very professional movie with Johnny Depp's superb performance and excellent singing (ditto for the star of the future, Ed Sanders), and creditable, fun performances by Sacha Baron Cohen and Helena Bonham Carter, I found myself yawning at about the ninety minute mark. Yes, I was shocked to find myself doing it. But once I started, I wasn't able to stop. Was it that I could predict the entire plot (but it is hardly reasonable to judge a musical by its plot, and romance, melodrama, and slasher genres are supposed to have predictable plots, like fairy tales. I'd feel ripped off if they didn't.) Or maybe it was the tunes, that all sounded similar, and all sounded like recitative.
No matter how, and much as I regret it, this movie bored me.

Thankfully Juno
is wonderful from start to finish. Quirky script, great animation, original songs, excellent actors, including older actors, lively and unpredictable. Seeing the seasons of suburban British Columbia makes me want to move there, it is so lovely. Love Ellen Page, Jason Bateman, Allison Janney, JK Simmons, Olivia Thirlby and little Sierra Pitkin especially. Which is not to deny Micheal Cera or Jennifer Garner their due. They were great. Love it, the whole thing.

A Knight's Tale & The Patriot

Instead of watching them on channel 10 tonight with their tacky
tribute to Heath I popped the DVDs on.

I must be getting old and reactionary because The Patriot really
made me want to hate the British..

They fought dirty and without honor to quote Worf...

Burning down a building with people inside it. How can you even
think of that as the act of an honourable soldier?

I've added the British to my list of "things to erase from history if I had
a time machine"

That whole tribute turned my stomach as well. It comes up as 'A tribute to Heath Ledger', but was just all of his movies, one by one, for hours yesterday. They do it for ratings, but so bloody tacky.
