2016 Today I...

Was Home Invaded today, by a Spaced Out Woman saying was wanting to buy one of my window installed Air Conditioners

She just let herself in (the Door was not properly locked and My Dog was at the Beach at the time) and when I heard a noise, I got off the lounge and was confronted by her in my Hallway.

I asked - WHO THE F ARE YOU - Very Loud - Then she said about the buying of the A/Cs and then asked if I was a Squatter LOL

I was so angry, that I think I would have scared a Man.

Long Story Short I walked towards her, with my hands towards her, like both in a STOP way and kept walking at her, until she got to the door. I warned her on the way I will bring up my GSD (that was at the Beach) and she said to me I was a Crazy Woman. I think anyone that enters anothers home is more Crazy!

I opened the door and pushed her out - not sure if she fell down those stairs - and slammed the door yelling I am ringing the cops.

This was at 6.15pm - Daylight! She was Drugged Out and I am not sure if she had any back up, awaiting - but I think, well I hope - They don't come back! God help her and them if they do and Joy is here ...................

Joy came home 5 mins later .............

holy shit! scary stuff. the nerve of some people. disgusting.

i hope you are ok.

I am still shaking - It was an experience that I would not anyone to go through -

:( I cannot believe the BALLS I had to get her outta of my place, like I did ........

Must be the Witchy Poo in me :)

Even though now, I am still shaking like I don't really know happened .......... I am so Stressed and feeling so vunerable. Like, my dog went for a beach awesomeness experience, and that I will never deny her ..... but at the same time - be by my side Bitch, as that is your Job :(
As time goes on - I am even more scared :(

i thought you handled it very well. that was a brave thing you did. you stood your ground and did not back down.

My intuition came in .......... I actually don't know why. I must be smarted than I am told. I warded off a threat :)

No I did not back down, I suppose that is what is about the reaction of the situation - and when I pushed her out of the door and slammed it shut I could then breathe - and it is amazing what you do when presented with a situation ......

Man I was so freaked out. I so was worried, as those steps are really steep - but then again- I didn't really care, cause she was not invited to visit. I did check to see if there was a carcass at the bottom of the stairs (missing) a few hours later ....

then later, I rang Crimestoppers to report .......

I agree with reepbot. You handled it very well and you were brave @hooleydooley. I am so sorry to hear that you had this experience. Luckily you were able to get her out of your house. And at least with you being at home she wasn't able to take any of your stuff.

That Air Conditioner story is such BS. She was trying her luck to steal a few things for some $$$.

Maybe it's best (and might make you feel better) if you remember to lock your doors from now on. Unfortunately this is the kind of world we live in nowadays. We can't keep our doors unlocked. :(

Is your dog with you tonight? She will be on guard so you don't have to be scared. I doubt anything will happen though hools. :):)

Yeah She is with me now - Her Dad is the easy going one, that helped put me in th situation :(

Her Dad was the one that didn't think the locks needed locking - He was devestated to hear what happened - oh well - get it together man - it happened and thats why we got the DOG :(

At least I am all OK - Just a scary experience, which shows that you should only look and care after yourself xxxxx #15yearsdoesnotmeananything

I could have killed that biach - they are really steep stairs - OMG ....... the brain strain after the fact - thank goodness I dint see a body .......

Thank Goodness I rang crimestoppers to report it.

If I do disappear, please send on info .......... Love sent xxxx

Yeah, for once I will give WB a golden star for judging me as a witchy poo, as a true poo that I am ....... LOL - Hope he will back off now and let me be ;) Not that this situation happened to make this so. I am still very fragile :(

Maybe he might share some insight to the better way to the way I have dealt, with my RL situation :) - It all could have been a whole lot worse, but it wasn't, and I came out on the positive side xxx

I'll humbly ignore your perpetual raking of coals bit.

Growing up, my family was robbed once and two failed attempts by the the same junkie when I caught him in the act when I was alone. I heard a bunch of breaking glass and kept thinking it was my uncoordinated father until about the 4th shatter. I think that and the family holiday house getting robbed a lot desensitised me to it. The reality of city living is getting robbed is common and locking doors and windows is necessary.

On the personal safety front, I was once in my forest cleaning fallen trees and illegal hunters started shooting in my direction and I chased and confronted 2 people holding shotguns and with a pack of dogs. I also have to be careful for people planting illegal drug crops on my land which happens occasionally.

Your situation is a bit like a time when a guy trying to steal my wallet from my car said he mistook my sedan for his 4WD. He was even with his young kid. That situation taught me to lock your car even if you are going only 3m away from it. People try crazy things. I do lock my car at service stations.

The big upside for you is you found out the cheapest possible way and can take cynical precautions now.

Wow scary stuff @hooleydooley - I guess the main thing is that you are ok, but there are few things worse than not feeling safe in your own home. Just do what you can to stay safe in case she/someone else comes back. I tend to get lax about security myself, I guess in a way it's good to have those reminders as sadly these things can happen way too easily - I think you handled it really well. Adrenaline is pretty cool hey, we never know what we are capable of until we are put in certain situations. Stay safe!

@hooleydooley, scary, and glad you are ok. Something similar happened to me when I was working in the outback, though the intruder was male and drugged to the eyeballs. Its amazing how strong and confrontational you can become when faced with potential danger. I kicked his sorry arse out the door, just as the police came running up the driveway ( i shared with 2 policemen). It is frightening though coming into YOUR home. I use to keep a wooden rolling pin by the bed after that. Now I have Rosie :)

Gosh, another scary situation. I sometimes think, What would I do if I had an intruder with a gun pointing at me or a weapon of some sort. and I was in immediate danger, and somehow I had a gun, Would I fire it? Possibly, no I think I would. Would you?

Hmmm. I think I fall into the category of someone who could do it without compunction, but is least likely to be in the situation for that to arise. I don't have the overprotective feeling to save my non-existent family, I probably wouldn't shoot over material things so it would have to be immediate personal danger and firearms aren't my first instinct. I think I would end up being shot in a struggle to disarm....and yeah I would be the hostage being told by other hostages to shut the hell up :p

I wouldn't. mainly because i don't know anything about firearms and I would just be making a terrible situation even worse with my incompetence.

Feeling a bit better tonight, although I am checking doors and windows like a compulsive scaredy cat.

Oh and when the man left for work this morning, he didn't lock the door, again! So angry - I found this out a 9am, when the Cops turned up to interview me about the situation. I was asleep, in the loud airconditioned bedroom.

They were banging on the main door and they even opened it (like that biach did) but Joy heard them, went into a very loud protect mode and then I awoke. Nothing like 2 cops being confonted by a GSD lol - I told her that they were OK and they were good guys, and I had her leashed and she sat at my side the whole time, as we chatted about the event. Seriously, I think that dog knows human speak!

If they catch up with her, it is just a tresspass. She actually went into my place of work, after the incident and was yelling at my Boss about the Crazy Woman that Squats in 'that place'! Freaky times! My boss even felt threatened by her and did not even know of what had happened to me earlier.

Lucky me and the Boss Man get on well, and he knows me!

Had another inspection for Sale today, and the process of this makes me very uneasy. Have already had my BBQ stolen just before Christmas :( I do ask for the details of all who come though.

Was so hoping the biach came into work tonight - didn't. but there is always tomorrow night and having a cops mobile # makes it all feel a bit easier :)

Thanks for all your kind words xxx

I once found a man in a tux in my loo/laundry, when I went to the loo in the middle of the night - half naked too.
And there he was.
I did a WTF , get the hell out - he mumbled something about getting out of a storm - but to get in that way you would have to climb a 6ft brick fence.
He ran.

What is your house history, she sounds like she has an attachment to the place.

So - today is Chinese New Year's Eve, and celebrations carry on for 12-15 days

Enjoy a feast after cleaning your house, sweep away crap, then dress up in new clothes tomorrow, and give kids money in red packets.
Put your hand in a lion if he dances by, good luck.
8 is a very lucky number and it is Red Monkey year.

Oh and Bollywood dancing is fantastic I learnt a whole routine friday night for free - get into your cities free summer stuff, so much going on.
