I think it's a bit of both but I'd be curious to go back and look at what the general consensus was about BB at this time last season. The HMs definitely aren't doing it for me like they were in '13 and of course the lack of live feeds probably contribute to that a lot, but sometimes I wonder if comparisons to last year are based on an overall feel of the season and not at precise points. For example at 2 weeks in last season, were we all gungho and happy with the choice of HMs and production? If so then I'd say yeah they've lost the plot completely but it could be that after 90 days we were just deeply invested in these HMs and loved the season as a whole so that's now giving people like you and I a halo effect when we compare the two.Is it the time slot or is it that this season is, to me, who only saw last year, utterly horrible to watch? I haven't seen other years, but, this season just has seemed mean and no fun. (Though I read people did like the dance competition.)

Possibly. I know the have not was an issue, but I remember that there was more fun stuff and bonding the first two weeks and not too much mean stuff. The thing is that the twist of have note was interesting to watch, a little bit, and it caused drama of people sulking, but there was still the fun of Tahan sneaking out and getting in the hot tub and the thing if drew and jade were married was fun, not mean, too. I dunno, it was just sweeter.I think it's a bit of both but I'd be curious to go back and look at what the general consensus was about BB at this time last season. And even with Tully's histrionics, there was a lot less crying overall and more happy fun times.
The Block finishes in less than two weeks though.
Predictions?
So hard to tell. It's never been like this before. I'm hoping they move it back to 7:30 and it's not too little too late.
Three weeks with the auction episode scheduled for Oct 12th.
I think if they move it to the earlier time slot they'll improve, if no other reason than people wanting their reality fix. If they leave it where it is they may as well fire the last bullet now.
Things can change but... It should be noted the Monday Night Live and Eviction show times were seen as moving back by 2 hours over a period of two weeks (in 1 hour lots). The first one to allow for the reintroduction of Daylight Savings in NSW/Vic/ACT/Tas (sorry QLD'ers looks like you're in for delayed shows like SA/NSW/WA), which then suggests nothing other than the show is being scheduled 1 hour earlier from the week of October 13.

The New Dread Pirate Roberts.
So usually The Block final goes for 2+ hours right? What does that mean for BB on that night? And what day is The Block final?
It does seem that the HMs last were enjoying themselves quite a bit more although maybe this lot are and we're just not seeing it. Tim said last night that he was surprised at how crazy this year's crew was because it wasn't really coming through on tv for him as a viewer so I suspect if there's a lot of fun going on unless it fits the storyline of the night we're not going to see it. Last night they did this dance montage of a bunch of clips of HMs dancing and just goofing off and the majority of them we'd never seen before. That's the stuff that's missing this year, along with LFs of course!Possibly. @Inigo Montoya the auction's scheduled for Sat Oct 21st, airing on Sun Oct 22nd. And yeah it's usually at least a good two, 2.5 hours, if not a bit longer so I wouldn't be surprised if BB was shoveled to Go that night.

I've thought about that as well. So I went and had a look. This is the page of posts from around the 2 week mark
http://www.behindbigbrother.com/forums/board/australian-big-brother-talk.2/page-60
There's even a 2 week review thread here
http://www.behindbigbrother.com/forums/threads/bb10-review-week-2-good-bad.49092/
Seems there was consensus that the casting was good.
Wow, thanks for that! It seems that overall people were liking the casting as you said but the same complaints were there ie over editing, too many tasks, showmances, too much focus on one HM in a DS, shit DS' for the most part, not enough HM interaction... I also noticed some complaints about too much time spent in the DR which is interesting considering it's something we've barely had this season.I've thought about that as well. I found this quote funny from @Mercy in this thread considering the complaints the night Tim went into the house (also surprised at the lack of posts overall in the thread) http://www.behindbigbrother.com/forums/threads/day-12-friday-daily-show-30-mins.49096/page-7
"Please let this not degrade into show after show of highschool style "who's going to get it on with whom".
Caleb likes Lucy!
Ben likes Ed!
Ed likes Tahan!
Jade likes Ed!
Jade likes Matt!
Drew likes Jade!
It's perfectly fine to have a bit and preferable to the bullshit that we've seen in the daily show for the past two weeks, but we really don't want this to be the only type of storyline being edited into the show. It's equally tedious to the "Ben gets Tasks" show"
So is the only real difference this season the lack of LFs? The ratings are doing well considering the later time slot and people are still bitching about the same things as last season. I think I need to reconsider where I'm coming from now when I compare last season to this one because now I'm even more convinced it is the halo effect (at least in my case anyway). Thanks again!

Predictions?
If BB moves into The Block's time slot it's gonna be facing tougher competition than it does now, i.e. The X Factor. I don't see it picking up a huge increase in numbers, so might be better to stay on later in the night where they can at least boast about doing well in demos etc.
If the X Factor follows the same format as last year then they only have four weeks left so there'll just be one week where BB is up against them on Sunday and Monday night if it's moved to the 7:30 time slot. I guess it'll depend on what 7 decides to air after the X Factor finishes though. If BB moves into The Block's time slot it's gonna be facing tougher competition than it does now, i.e. The X Factor. No matter what the new timeslot, there will be increased competition coming up. BB has had it pretty easy so far. But lots of new Australian and US shows are starting in the next few weeks. US shows include The Blacklist, NCIS etc. Younger skewing Beauty and the Geek will be back on Seven and The Chaser's have a new show on ABC, Ten have Gold Coast Cops and Party Tricks to finish off the year as well.
I think BB will be at 7.30 otherwise there will be no slot to show any of Nine's US dramas like Gotham that they are making a big deal out of.

Huh? My sources say Oct 12; please may that be correct. I can't take much more of this distortion of my viewing schedule. Are your sources more...sourcey?
So what are we predicting for First Eviction Ratings? I would say 700-800k.
Not bad!
haha you're right! I'd said on the last page it was Oct 12th... I just messed up the date when answering Inigo.Huh? My sources say Oct 12; please may that be correct. I can't take much more of this distortion of my viewing schedule. Are your sources more...sourcey?

Oh, thank god, because even that seems a long way away. I was about to dash my brains out!
They aren't consolidated numbers. They are the adjusted numbers.Where are you getting those numbers from? Over at Media Spy they have last week's consolidated and say every show was down significantly:
Code:Day Original Actual Change Sun 645,000 602,000 -43,000 Mon 817,000 752,000 -65,000 Tue 696,000 646,000 -50,000 Wed 634,000 606,000 -28,000 Thu 748,000 693,000 -55,000
So at 9am-ish the following day the results come out. Then sometimes they need to be adjusted due to shows not running at the scheduled time. All these results are based on views up until 2am.
I'm guessing they get adjusted down because the show starts later than schedules and the Bb numbers are artificially inflated by Block viewers.
Consolidated are the results for the views over 7 days.
