Anyway back to documentaries, I have America Revealed ready for watching when I have time, did anyone catch this series when it was on telly?

No. Just because she's a woman doesn't mean she's not an idiot. What century does she think this is? She needs to go and do some social research. That graphic is just ridiculous.

Just because the photographer has taken the photograph, doesn't mean that she agrees that a woman's skirt length warrants any kind of sexual assumption. She might have wanted to start a debate so that those within our society who do make these assumptions will become more educated, and more realistic, on the matter. She's not an idiot at all, in my opinion, and I thank you for putting it on this forum, Mud; it seems to me to be a justifiable social statement.

The photo was done in high school by someone called Rosea Posey, there are a million and one Year 12 art projects attempting to go against "the norm" yawn.

Re the docos Eliza, the Venice one sound interesting - but I fell asleep, it's been on.
The Indian one....hmm, topical, could be VERY interesting.
I think all those involved in the hideous attack on the young lady victim who died, are part of this mass relocation that is happening.
The young lady's family moved so that she could study medicine and the family would have a better future.
she was the only one who succeeded.
The vile attackers - same thing relocated, and all were dismal failures, unemployed, or the best they could do was drive an illegal bus.

How could you possibly know that's what she's doing? There is nothing at all to say that she thinks it's stupid or that she's trying to make any point whatsoever. It's a high school kid. She quite possibly has no idea what she means.

I wouldn't be so quick to judge a piece of social commentary on the age of the author, even if she has made a spelling mistake. As in most good art, making an obvious statement is not the intention. Rather, it should provoke thought and comment. If you think it's banal, wynter, that's fine; but please don't belittle what seems to be a legitimate attempt to be constructively provocative.

I didn't know the age of the author when I made my first comment, I haven't changed my opinion now that I know, therefore the age of the author has no relevance to my opinion and I have never mentioned any spelling mistake. Please don't try to make me out to be some kind of ageist villain when I am not. I formed my opinion on what it was, not on who created it. Good art is subjective. You might think this is good art and that it is constructively provocative. I don't think it is either. As is my right. Just that act of producing something and calling it art doesn't make it good. It may have been provocative 4 or 5 decades ago. Now it is inane, outdated and boring. I have a right to my opinion and that is it. That is why people produce art, so people will make up their own minds, not to be told how we should judge it.

Mud, you have never been shy to start a new thread, why don't you start an art one.

If I put sticky note messages all along my cats body and took a photo I could call that art but it would in fact just be a funny photo of a cat with sticky notes.
