Last movie you saw

I didn't like Vicky Cristina Barcelona much. I felt the narration, while needed, was over the top and just annoying in parts. I don't know, it just felt slightly pretentious to me. I'm not really a Woody fan anyway. Penelope Cruz was really great though, I hope she's nominated for an Oscar for her performance.
Yes you are exactly right it was unneeded!
I always thought it was an odd title, but it works I guess.

It's so good. The last 10 minutes is basically the best thing to ever be put on film, apart from Brad Pitt's hammy acting. Brilliant twist, mostly brilliant acting, brilliant direction. I'd give it 5 stars, Margaret.

The whole movie is good though, but the end is just so good I literally opened my mouth wide lol!

Grand Torino - Excellent

Curious Case of Ben Button - long, boring and pointless. Really the story is pointless and dumb. Such a disappointment. It's so badly written.

Slumdog Millionaire - Excellent, go see this movie!

Ghost Town - It was nice and funny, but it was fairly even. Not a rush out and see but if you want a steady funny movie it's nice.

Reign Of Fire

Surprisingly I liked this. I had seen it before but didn't pay full attention to it. But this time around watched it and I quite liked it. I mean dragons who doesn't like dragaons? especially fire breathing dragons?

Loved the flight scenes of the beasties and some of the sky high shannigans. Overall I had a good time here.

6/10

Role Models

This was hilarious! From seeing the trailer it was definitely different to what I was expecting.. Paul Rudd is great and Sean William Scott well he was just Stiffler again but the kids especially the black kid! haha

I saw The Wrestler on Saturday. It was a bit predictable, but OK. Likeable characters, a bit of humor, a lot of pathos, a bad 80's 'hair band' soundtrack, always a good thing. :D I found it very depressing though. Just the things people demand in the name of entertainment, and the futility of it all. It's also very gruesome. Avoid it if you can't handle blood and gore (like me :o).

Want to see. The preview looked brilliant.

I'm agonising over seeing this one. I still haven't quite gotten over the ordeal that was The Fountain, but I think The Wrestler will be more in the style of Requiem for a Dream, which amazed me.

I can handle gore, but I don't like breaking bones.

How does barbed wire, thumb tacks and staple guns strike you then? I had to shut my eyes for fair part of this movie. :o

I haven't seen Requiem For A Dream (read the book though), but this one is in that kind of bleak, 'gritty realism' style. One reviewer compared it to Rocky, but I don't see it, apart from the subject matter. I think my son was expecting that kind of cliched, comeback movie and in some ways it was, but it was a lot more understated and realistic.

Saw RockNRolla last night.

It was decent, entertaining, but not great or anything. Still not on the same level of Lock Stock or Snatch. More on a level with Layer Cake.. which yes i know Guy Richie didn't direct. However the end with the promise of a sequel, which may or may not be made due to the films success, I did think, yes I want to see the sequel. Which is a good sign.
