The Tallulah Thread Part 2

As someone with an unusual name it is a PITA when you're a kid! I always felt left out when other kids had 'named' things as there was never a hope in hell that they would have mine! My Husband was in a similar position, though his name is a bit more popular in his own country than here.

LOL YOUr husbands name was one we were considering if we had a boy. :)

Here you go

Shikuzukumimika! lmfao

I had a fairly common name. Back when I was at school I was often in a class with at least one other Rebecca if not two. My main gripe is when I get called Rachael. I'm not frikkin Rachael. My year 10 maths teacher spent the entire year calling me Rachael and in the end I just answered to it. Rebecca isn't that common anymore but it was when I was at school.
I had a fairly easy to spell, known last name then when i got married it became tricky and I constantly have to spell it.

I went with a traditional name for my daughter. She's had one other Emma in a class with her but more likely people named their kids Emily.

there was a Jenny-Ann the other day.

jenny is already a shortening i guess thats okay but whats up with the Ann tacked on the end??

she was only introducing herself as Jenny so sounds like the ann part is just official.

I knew a Emma-Kate. I felt stupid saying her name LOL

i think its really important to have a name that other people can say. there is a girl at work i cant quite pronounce her name its all funny, and i avoid having to talk to her because i know i just cant say her name!!

i have another funny thing but its not a bad name, but how common it is. there is an Mia, whos brother married an Mia, but then the first Mia married her husband who also has a sister Mia. so now Mia has two sister's in law named Mia hahahah.

A first day of school pic in the paper - Nissiah.

NFI re: pronunciation but I reckon it'd rhyme with Messiah, which just makes me lol.

I just read an article about the above, RD also has an 18 year old son called Indio  people who take lots of drugs should have baby naming rights removed from them.:D

am writing a monolouge about dodgy baby names, I just need a couple more.

I remember in the old thread, we were discussing names with as many silent letters as we could, can any one remember what it was?

I found this goffy......

Many readers will be unfamiliar with the British name “Cholmondeley,” pronounced, inexplicably, Chum-ley. (This 12-letter name has five silent letters, two of them vowels.)

I have loads of Irish cousins and their names include:

Aoife
Gráinne
Deirdre
Siobhán
Fionnoula
Orlagh
Eoin
Emmett
Fearghal
Tadhg

and the list goes on my mum has 7 brothers and sisters so there are many more Irish names.

I know how to pronounce all of them except Grainne.

I'm guessing Granya? or Grenya?
