The Tallulah Thread Part 2

Lady at work - her son just had twin boys - names are: Yunus and Ikyas. Wot the... apparently biblical names. Ive never heard of em!!

Pretty sure Iain is just the Scottish spelling, it's said the same way as Ian.

Yunus and Ikyas remind me of anus and ikky. :o:o:o

Yeah, it always seemed weird with Ian Ziering that they pronounced it like "iron".

I went to school with a boy called James. No biggie.

But his older brother was Storm (born 1960), and older sister was Autumn (born 1958). I guess the parents were over it by 1966 when James was born....

I also knew a woman briefly in the mid-80s who called her two daughters Rock and Stone .. and another in the mid 90s who named her daughter Breed.

I cry for those girls....

Breed?? that is terrible. so is rock and stone.

I knew a storm at school. its okay but bordering on stupid.

Autumn however is a lovely name LOL but then pair it up with all the "summers" out there (plus probably a few Winters floating around) and it gets a little silly.

LOL..For the information of all concerned - Wynter is not my real name.

...apparently my name is 'babeyouareanidiot' according to my sweet darling wife... I love her... even after being together for 35 years... I call her 'yesbabeifyousayso'... as I said... I love her... cheers.

That would be embarassing, wouldn't it, naming your kid after a biblical figure and finding out you spelled it wrong and no-one knew who you were talking about. If you were into scientists it would be like calling your kids Einstein and Curry. (Curie)

I used to work in childcare and have heard some awful names. Shivah (pronounced shiver) Apparently native american indian.

I reckon there will be a lot of legally changed names in future years, If I was named a lot of these names I dont think I would ever get used to it. as it was mum gave two of us two names and called us by the second, my bother was cleverer than me , he had it changed as early as he could , I wasnt as smart, so every legal thing I get called by my first name. got to the stage I even answer to it comming out of annescitic(sp) . she had her reason Dad named us the first names and they didnt stay married.
