Duchess Kate is pregnant with first child

Buckingham Palace/Clarence House announced Monday that the duchess and Prince William are expecting an heir to the throne.

The recurrent headline had become increasingly persistent in recent months, with the slightest lump in dress fabric or change in hairstyle generating a frenzied round of pregnancy rumors.

This will be the first grandchild for both the royal and Middleton families.

The duchess was admitted Monday to King Edward VII Hospital in Central London with hyperemesis gravidarum (or severe morning sickness), according to a release from the palace. As the pregnancy is in its "very early stages," Kate will stay in hospital for several days, the palace said.

Woo hoo! Very excited but surprised that they announced it when they are less than 12 weeks. Does a duchess have to pee on her own stick? ;)

Got to laugh at the haters (mostly in the US) who complain about who cares, they dont do anything etc. bit rich coming from those who idolize the likes of the Kardashians. Didn't see them serving in the military or charity work without seeking out the paparazzi all the time.
Now for baby names :)

I saw this snippet on baby names:

Urhines Kendall Icy Eight Special K. Yes, that's right: a baby named after the illicit drug ketamine. Oh, and that's pronounced "Your Highness," by the way.

Sometimes having the weight of a conservative institution restricting the naming of a child is a blessing!

I reckon Kate is having a laugh, digging through all the old closets at Buck House - that looks like an old princess Anne number to me.

There is no other way to account for that cute sexy woman, who makes my head spin in those glorious McQueens doing THAT.

Look at her, in her hot/cute booties and lovely pink coat............or maybe she's sometimes just too busy making babies to give a crap........... sometimes just grabs whatever.

Told ya, her brain was fried from hot Princely sex, and preggers hormones - ugly green dress explained:):):)

And - how exciting could be twins
◆ The royal kicker: The serious morning sickness that is afflicting Kate, which is called hyperemesis gravidarum, is a condition more common with women expecting twins! Because the pregnancy is in the early stages, it’s too early to tell for sure.

Twins would make the line of succession * interesting* . It'd be down to whichever baby came out first within minutes.

And since she's in hospital, they pretty much had no choice but to release the news. The tabloids would have gone rabid otherwise

i am a little saddened by the news

she is in hospital because of fairly severe illness. in this day and age she wont die, but many many people who have the illness choose to terminate there pregnancy as its so severe & its suggested that Charlotte Bronte did die from it before IV drips were available.

It also means the child can be slightly premature and underweight.

the clinker is that women who experience this are encouraged not to have further children.

I can imagine with the royal family involved she will have a lot less say over her own reproductive health.

however the sad part is just that she feels so ill, and I hope shes not ill for too long and having the heir to the throne gives her all the medical treatment money can buy. From people I know who have had the illness its like having gastro constantly for the whole time and not even vomiting gives any type of relief.

She is lucky that she doesnt have a job, if you had to still work up until a few weeks before birth and you had this illness you wouldnt be able to keep a job or it would be extra difficult.'

Im hoping its twins yippeee. I hope they name it something nice. not Frances wtf why is that in the betting odds. it would awesome to name it spencer whether its a boy or a girl.

I also think they should use Diana but as a middle name.

because she was so sick, couldnt keep anything down, my daughter found out she was having twins at just 6 weeks.and Kate supposed to be about the same , showed up very clear.

I thought she had severe morning sickness? (I'm away from home so may have missed that it is something worse)

I had severe morning sickness, it's like having really bad gastro or rota-virus, you can't keep anything down it's awful but it is not really that big of a deal these days. I had a few days in hospital on a drip and was good to go. My baby was not premmie or underweight.

ADIT: Just read that she has/might have? Hyperemesis.

Hope she has triplets, and just covers that pompous family in babies, babies, babies. It would be hilarious fun.
They should be cute parents whatever.
