2Day FM duo impersonates the Queen

IT is the story the world's media is working around the clock to crack but yesterday a unlikely Sydney radio duo bagged the best international scoop so far in the unfolding soap opera that is the Kate Middleton pregnancy.
Little-known 2Day FM announcers Mel Greig and Michael Christian - who helm the Summer 30 show on weeknights - managed to convince staff at the King Edward VII hospital that they were both the Queen of England and Prince Charles and found themselves connected through to Middleton's private nurse last night.

Pretending to be enquiring after the Duchess's health as she battles chronic morning sickness, the duo got a run-down on Middleton's vitals including some encouraging news that she hasn't experienced any recent "retching".
"She's sleeping at the moment and she has had an uneventful night, she's been given some fluids, she's stable at the moment,'' the kindly nurse informed the supposed Queen and Prince, adding; "I would suggest that any time after 9-o-clock will be suitable to visit. We'll be getting her freshened up."
The nurse then revealed the Duchess's husband Prince William, who was photographed earlier leaving the hospital after a lengthy visit, had wrapped up his visit.
"Will went home at about 9 o clock last night.
"She's quite stable. She hasn't had any retching with me and she's been sleeping on and off.''
 
Yes, and haven't most of us been guilty of hospital fraud at some time - I mean when someone collapses and we know they don't have family around, and you call and say your a rellie.

Poor nurse, but she was a bit silly- yet who knows what stress she was under in the circumstances
 
Oh dear, just heard some of that prank - it is funny, it's gone bonkers everywhere- pretty damn sure those DJs NEVER expected to be taken seriously they sound so fake and ridiculous, so a bit less sympathy for - whatever she was answering phones.

Doubt that was a nurse???Or somebody was very tired and on autopilot, she just registers its a relative and off she goes.

Yes, same dress on display. It also has a 15' train. I had never actually seen the detail of the front of it before, I've only seen pics of it and it always has the huge bridal bouquet in front of it. I think what you're seeing is part of the bouquet. She also appears to be wearing a smaller petticoat than the one on the display model.
 
HM's dress falls much more gracefully than on the dummy. And who knew the consort was so cute in his youth?

Aww, look at their smiley eyes:)

And yellow flowers = joy

Queen's dress is rather yuck in colour, circusy,Margie's is much better.
