Last movie you saw

I got given tickets to see "Never back down" but passed on that as it looked rather ordinary and a "teen flick" Anyone seen it. Reminded me of fight club, but more "fight club lite" would that be fair to say?

It was really good, but exactly like fight club, less like gory type things and the plot was a bit better, however, the idea was not an original.

Funny, Margaret Pomeranz gave this quite a good review, but David Stratton wasn't so keen.

Today I watched '1408'

Hmmm.....

Why take a really good story and fcuck up the ending? Also it was missing a few of my fav things from the story.

All in all the 'feel' of it was good though, but nowhere near as spooky as the story.

Oh, I feel so left out nowadays regarding movies. Haven't been in soooo long, but never fear; I will be going to see 'The Painted Veil' soon enough! But just wait until June/July, I'll be back in fine form.

Just saw "Pan's Labyrinth" which is a Spanish film I had heard good things about and have been meaning to see for a while, just got around to it tonight. It was utterly amazing, it's totally one of my favourite movies now. I was a bit surprised at how violent/disturbing some scenes were, I was presuming it would be a kid-friendly fantasy film so needless to say I was left speechless in some parts. It wasn't until afterwards that I looked at the DVD cover and saw it was MA15+ for its graphic violence. :o

This movie is PERFECT in every way. I love it to death, and those that refuse to watch it because of subtitles (my housemates for example) are not only ignorant, but are missing out on a pure gem of artistic beauty. As for the soundtrack - amazing to listen to before you go to bed. Had a whole house using it at one point as our bedtime ritual.

I'm deeply ashamed to admit that the last movie I saw was St. Trinians.
If you love poorly acted, badly written, wafer-thin plotlined films with an all-star British B/C list cast, this trash-tastic film is for you!:D

Nah, just go there to see the 20 somethings dressed as cheeky schoolgirls :)

I stil want to see this. I have all the origina movies. sadly they are probably miles better I imagine.

Every review I've come across for it pretty much begs the reader/viewer to skip this and go see the original. I enjoyed it though.

Another movie I've only just gotten around to seeing is Razzle Dazzle. Absolutely loved it, even if it was quite predictable.

Agreed! For ages I had been talking to my boyfriend about how I wanted to see it, I explained the premise to him and he was like "That sounds interesting!" but once I mentioned it was a foreign film he was like "**** that, we're renting 'Freddy Got Fingered' again." Who knew reading was such a chore for so many people? But yeah I was pleasantly surprised when he came over with it yesterday, it's now right up there on my "best movies I have EVER seen" list. Gorgeous cinematrography, score, make-up/costumes, story... like you said, it was perfect.

Untraceable. It was pretty good, and decently suspenseful.

Before that I saw Forgetting Sarah Marshall, which I absolutely loved. :X

"Pan's Labyrinth" is a wonderful, deep (and sometimes grim) movie, and I'd recommend it to anyone. The part with the weird creature with eyeballs in its palms kind of freaked me out.

The director, Guillermo Del Toro, has been confirmed as director of "The Hobbit" so he'll have to go live in NZ for a year next year when that movie starts shooting.

It was kind of unusual, heh, hearing a fawn speak in Spanish. Don't worry, there's subtitles.

I just saw a funny little film called "Return to Oz", it's a 'sequel' to The Wizard of Oz that was made like 40 or 50 years later. It's very different though. No more singing and dancing along a yellow brick road, just a Witch who likes to steal the heads of women and girls and a giant rock guy who's turned most in oz into stone.

And these freaky things called Wheelers.

Did I mention that the movie starts with Dorothy's aunty and uncle dumping her in a psychiatric facility to get shocks to the head.

I think you'll find he's moving to NZ for closer to 4 years as the Hobbit will be released around 2010 and the sequel in 2011. ;)

Yeah you're right, my mistake, it was 4 years.

And he's asked Ian M to come back as Gandalf and of course he said yes.

Peter Jackson will be executive producer and I guess he will do the screen adaptation with his wife Fran Walsh. Sunny Wellington will be the hq. I wonder who will play Bilbo?

:)

Forgetting Sarah Marshall. Love love LOVED it. Next on the list is Made Of Honor, What Happens In Vegas and 21.

I saw "Shoot Em' Up" with Clive Owen. The action scenes are so ridiculous they're hilarious. It was very entertaining though.
