Last movie you saw

Ooooooh I have only recently discovered this thread - trust me I would have replied to the Darcy one.. I loved Colin Firth in Bridget Jones' Diary too :)

I'm betting he doesn't look as good in speedos as the D'Arcy I'm referring to, lol

This is a couple of weeks late but we went and say 'Iron Man' a while ago. I really liked it, and I was totally shocked that 'Fanboy' Mr Raven loved it. Usually he hates movies of comics. I had to hear about how disapointed he was in Venom for months after Spiderman 3

This is not a movie but a TV series.. I recently rented the BBC series North and South (author Elizabeth Gaskell) out of curiosity and man was I pleasantly surprised... It's nearly 4 hours long but every minute of Richard Armitage is worth it. He is just yummilicious :D The new Mr Darcy for me.... :)

I caught the second and third episodes of this when it was on TV so I have to hunt it down to get the full story. It is typical BBC drama style but a very good and interesting story.

Did you watch the dvd extras with the alternate ending Jay? Alot of people are wondering why they didn't use this one and liked it alot better.

Oooooooooooooooooh you meant that D Arcy....:p LOL.... when you said swimming I was thinking of the wet shirt scene from Pride and Prejudice and assumed CF ... LOL.... naaaah I agree.. CF wouldn't look as good in speedos... wet shirts yes.. speedos no... LOL.... :D

oh yes absolutely... I love the BBC productions.. Bleakhouse and Our Mutual Friend are other series that are just as fantastically made as well ... And of course Pride and Prejudice which is one of my all time favourites...

Oh yeah, I like Dickens' work...but I've only read novels. Including Bleakhouse and of course Great Expectations, with Bleakhouse being my favourite I think. I find it more difficult to get into the screen adaptations unfortunately.

"I Am Legend" is sort of the American version of "28 Days Later", but with the nasty stuff softened for middle-of-the-road audiences.
I'm convinced that they used CGI-Zombie/Vampire/Rage baddies as a way to disconnect the viewers from the situation. Make it a bit cartoonish. Otherwise you'd have nasty blood and guts Zombie slaughter scenes that the Will Smith fans just wouldn't come and see. They want Action, not Gruesome.

Watched Dark City again last night - headtrip of a movie - definately worth seeing if you liked the matrix[original movie only] but can also handle thinking.

Eh i think you're trying to over think it a bit.

It was most likely a decision that once again film makers over estimate how real CG looks, and due to the alot of work you'd have to do with CG guys anyways its better to make it more consistent and make them look less human. The ones in the original look terrible for instance.

With a film like I am legend, so much of it is computer graphics to begin with when its outside of sets, its just is a hell of a lot easier & cheaper to stick CG elements into the fake world, then deal with adding actors on blue screens ect.

Nah their were no extras on the film I rented.

Isn't that rated MA? You shouldn't be watching that at your age.. could give you nightmares.

That's the thing though, it wasn't even scary. Saw is a lot worse.

Steam comes out of my ears whenever I think about that film ~L~

Jay, read the book. It's only short but it's fantastic and makes alot more sense!

Their's a book? Hmmm.. might have to find it.

The BBC ones are not bad though... The Americans kind of ruin it but BBC has always done an excellent job with adaptations...
