Last movie you saw

they still seem to stay relevant, U2.

Mind you, they do an awful lot of touring. I think the REM guys got a bit lazy about the touring thing.
Funny thing about that is that the Vertigo tour was the first one here for 9 years. Their shows are so big they linger in the memory long after they leave.

They need to bring back the Sunday movie on free to air TV. They used to paly some quite good flicks in the last couple of years. Like the LOTR trilogy, for example.

A few Fridays ago they played "King Kong", on 7 I think. That's not much good. Most folks are out on Friday night.
I have an admission to make - I've only now purchased the LOTR trilogy on DVD. Extended edition, of course. The whole lot cost 23 quid from Amazon UK. I was reluctant to get it, but reading a book about Peter Jackson spurred me to explore the megabox.

I love that movie... Jane Russell rules. She shits all over Marilyn in that.

 You don't mean that literally do you CLE?!! :p

I prefer Some Like It Hot, with Tony Curtis and Jack Lemmon in drag. Very funny movie. I love Marilyn. She was a smart, talented, gorgeous woman.

Of course not literally. Just watching that I liked Jane Russell more then I liked Marilyn Monroe and I'm a fan of Marilyn's but just in that film I liked Jane better..

Plus notice both of them are fuller figured women....... Curves... i love curves. No stick insects there.

How To Marry A Millionaire is also good

I know. I was joking. I just got this awful image in my head!

I was a bit obsessed with Marilyn when I was teenager. Me and my friend were really into vintage clothing as well and we used to sit there drooling over the costumes in those movies. So beautiful. And yeah, her curves were so feminine. Marilyn was a size 16 at one stage and she was just gorgeous.

Which really pisses me off that today size 16 is frowned upon. Often the excuse used is that the sizes in those days were different to today but that just doesn't sound right.

Ah. If I had time machine I'd visit Jane and Marilyn and see what they were really like... :)

My best friend in early high school was a big Marilyn fan, we used to go to Lumiere cinema in Perth for old movie marathons and I'll never forget one awesome night when we saw 'Some like it Hot', 'Bus Stop' and 'Philadelphia Story' (Cary Grant... mmmmm) :).

Some Like it Hot is my fav Marilyn movie too (not hurt by the fact that I LOVE Tony Curtis films) and my favourite line was when the two guys were watching Marilyn walking away from behind, and describing her 'wiggle' as "like jello on springs" lol. I high compliment in those days, but today saying that about a woman would be taken as an insult I think.

Tony Curtis was also in the Time Tunnel and wasn't he Vic Fontaine in DS9?
I'm not sure, CLE. I just had a look and neither is listed for him...

Apparently the character in DS9 was played by James Darren, whoever he is.

Edit: And the same guy was in Time Tunnel lol,

Yeah, I remember "Time Tunnel", one of my fave 70s sci fi shows.

I'd like to see re-runs, though it'd be more of a hoot these days then anything else.

:D

I love that moment too Ravenau. I wish I could walk like that! That movie was full of great one-liners.

Nice photos of Tony. He had lovely eyes.

Yes that is right I knew it was one of them. James Darren was in Time Tunnel and GB you can get the show on DVD and it would be a laugh to see something that old today on TV......

I did like the set design and all though ........

There was a long running rumour of a big budget hollywood type movie about Time Tunnel in 2004 but it never happened.

Time Tunnel, Land of the Giants, and Lost in Space.

(Should go on a DVD splurge to JB HiFi).

And for the superhero type suff, re-runs of "The Six Million Dollar Man" and "Wonder Woman" lol
