Last movie you saw

Dracula 1972
it's on now on Go!
Christopher Lee, Hammer Horror, and '70s hippies.

There's been some great latenight movies lately.

I saw 2012 and was really disappointed. That family should have died so many times. It was just way too unrealistic for something which I thought should have been based more on facts and stuff considering it's "going to happen."

It was pretty much just like The Day After Tomorrow with it's stupid tidal wave that moved backwards a few times and then moved slow enough to allow people to move out the way. Such garbage.

I thought it would be like that, glad I didn't c it.

Dead Set on DVD

I finally got to see this on DVD.. I was annoyed it was split up into 5 episodes.. it should have been edited as one big long movie for DVD I reckon.

Anyway it was really good! I'm not huge on zombie movies but this one was gruesome yet funny in parts and was a really original idea! I kind of wished it ended differently but I guess it couldn't really do that (you will know when you see it lol)

Land Of The Dead

That was on TV last night and it wasn't as bad as I thought. Quite a fun ride actually. Lots of zombies and gunfire, and interesting they were clever zombies.... They used tactics.... Although I did miss the very last few minutes so no idea what happened.

6/10

Yeah, watched the end of that after Dracula.
It's okay. Nothing surprising about the ending. Zombies attack. Lots of people eaten, but some saved by the hero in the big megatruck. The Zombies amble off into the night, "to find somewhere they can belong"... they get a happy ending too.
Dennis Hopper gets fried by a combo of the Lead Zombie, a zombified John Leguizamo and a petrol and fiery bbq gas bottle attack.

And the hero and his gal and burned faced friend drive off in the MegaTruck.

Oh ok.....

The truck was pretty damn cool.

Also watched "Reign Of Gargoyles" and that was craptastic.

Loving ABC2 on Saturday nights, caught Quadrophenia last week, Fahrenheit 451 and Slaughter-house 5 this week, amazing time in film history i love the way movies were made then.

Quadrophenia is one of my favourite movies :D I love that era.. the music, the fashion ahh!

I watched My Sisters Keeper. I read the book a few years ago & was pleasantly suprised at the transition to the screen. On the whole, all the cast did a fantastic job but Joan Cusack stood out the most to me. I went through a few tissues with this movie but needed a whole box when I read the book.

Ah some recent movies i've watched since i last posted.

Christmas Caro
l, It was good but not great. I thouht it was very well done, although there is something that's a little unconvincing about the turn around Scrooge goes through. I saw it in 3d and that totally didn't work in the dark scenes.

I think people didn't realise it wasn't a kids film. People still tend to mistake animation as a genre soley for kids. And for the language, it's actually meant to be a fairly faithful adaptation with a lot of the original dialogue from the book.

2012
I really dug this, it was exactly what i expected. A big improbably disaster movie, lots of excitement, awesome special effects and a decent and interesting enough story. I also liked the fact it was long and there for didn't short change you on the story.

On a brighter note the hubby and the 12 year old saw 2012 and they liked it. Stupid me didn't know what the story was about and when they told me I freaked, what sort of movie would that be to watch? Not my cup of tea as I would be one of those weirdos who do live in fear for the next 2 years, it's probably why 12yr old just came out and said "I can't get to sleep"lol

It doesn't push the whole 2012 thing as if it's going to happen. Which it is not at all.

2012 would be a far better movie if it had a downbeat ending.

I'd lvoe a disaster movie where the Earth isn't saved...

Or even an alien movie where the humans lose...

About 7 billion people did die.. pretty downbeat ending, just positive for the few that survived.

I look forward to the tv series if they make it! About what happens to the people after.

I think this was a film, done a bit more traditionally that if you don't know that it's meant to be an over the top, cliche big disaster movie you may be disapointed, it seems a lot of the complaints i've heard are for things that I wanted out of it.

Paranormal activities- Ghey

That movie was awesome! Really enjoyed it!

The International

Clive Owen, Niomi Watts action thriller type things, against big banks and weapons tradings and all sorts of intrigue. Was quite good!

Crank 2

Loved it! If you liked and got crank, you'll like it! It takes it even more over the top. The films crazy! Definitely not for anyone, but I found it awesome. Just so over the top, so crazy and all over the place and funny! Jason Stathom tracking down his heart which has been stolen, electocuting himself to keep his artificial hearts battery charged.. haha but it gets way more insane than that! The sort of film that could easily miss it's mark, but like the first one, totally succeeds at the insanity!

Quantum Solace, loved it...just one thing bugged me..

Near the end, the girl that was nearly raped...we never actually saw that she got out safely :/

very minor quibble, but yeah good movie...Loved Casino Royale as well

Didn't they show her running out of the room when Camille came in? Just like everyone else that seemed to disappear from the complex just assume she grabbed a car and fled.

How the Terminator movies should have ended

How to survive an alien attack. From various movies

The Imaginarium of Dr Parsomething - Heath Ledgars last movie. OMG It did my head in. I still don't understand it.

I quite enjoyed most of it, but I was hoping for Terry Gilliam genius on the level of Brazil, but unfortunately it wasn't. At the end I did lose any idea of what on earth just happened, it was fine then got all confusing and unclear and the twists were a bit hard to follow.
