Jade 2013 Appreciation thread

You guys kill me with all of this Australian sports talk because I have no idea what it is! I just smile and nod....like Jade. ;)

I do know what the Australian Open is, though. Do you all think Jade mentioned attending just to cloud all of the Ed speculation?

I live in Australia and I've no idea about AFL/NRL too,so that's why I mentioned soccer.

The only time that there will be no Ed speculation is when there's no more Ed in Jade's lovelife.

aurora Did we make the finals?

OMG the Socceroos will be pitted against defending World Cup Champions Spain and 2010 runners-up the Netherlands in a horror draw Group B 2014.Doesn't look good for Australia unless a miracle happens next year.

. Jade is focused on family and real emotional connections while Ed is...not. This is exactly why Ed refused to commit to Jade, because he honestly could not promise to give this up. !

Excellent post Jane Doe.

I've just copied a small bit and highlighted something that I think is important. I remember a convo in the last few weeks in the house about seeing how things go on the outside, and Ed saying that he didn't want Jade to be disappointed in him. He does know who he is and he knew he was only showing one aspect of himself, and that aspect was showing only because he was without access to his usual environment (apart from Friday nights).

My gut feeling is (if they did part ways) is that it was Jade's decision, based on the lifestyle differences and seeing Ed in his environment and getting a more accurate picture of the whole Ed, and where he is at the moment.

While Jade did start to like Ed's instagrams on Friday and last night (as well as other HMs - which she was already doing) - Ed is still not acknowledging Jade. He did favourite a twitter from one of his regular supporters saying he must be proud of Jade for the starlight things and asking him to promote it to his twitter followers (he favourites all her tweets), but didn't didn't promote the cause. Two of his other regulars have also encouraged him to either retweet Jade's thing or support it to his followers - but he hasn't. To me this looks a bit like his nose is out of joint (maybe a bit upset).

And definitely agree with this last part of your post -

"I have no doubt that it's true but I don't think he's looking for it, wanting it, or even ready for it right now, even though I think he deliberately gave the impression that he was. Unfortunately, I think Jade fell in love with the guy Ed will probably be in 10 years, not the guy he is right now. It's not her fault that it's not who he is now!

We are a long suffering lot. I'm hoping to see a premiership in my lifetime, surely that's not too much to ask? ;)

Well you are getting closer to one. Actually being a Knights fan I felt your pain this year. Getting knocked out one game before the grand final was a terrible feeling.

Smurfette, you're more optimistic than me. I'd love to believe if anything went wrong between the two, she'd be the one to call it off. I just can't imagine she'd turn around that fast. I very much believe Jade is still in the hopeful place, it's still not so long since they've been out the house. I think meeting his mom absolutely strengthened what she felt. As much as I hate it, I think Ed is holding the reigns right now.

I guess we'll find out more when she is back in Melbourne. I guess we will all wait to see just where she stays. The Australian Open can't come fast enough. lol.
aurora, thanks for the welcome : )

I'm not discounting that Ed may still hold the reins (although Jade has now had the benefit of 7 odd weeks of outside knowledge and feedback from family and friends)- but I think the way she totally ignored him on social media until Friday when that poster had a go at her, may suggest that she was distancing herself. Also, the fact that she was sad, rather than devastated, leads me to think that she may have accepted something rather than being crushed. Ed's totally ignoring her on social media and resisting urges by supporters that he regularly interacts with and responds to also intrigues me, because if he was fine about wherever he and Jade are, then retweeting her charity thing would be normal behaviour for one friend to do for another.

Having said that - I not sure that Jade wouldn't come running if he wanted to carry it on.

Great news - nice to see she is interested in a sport. Now all we have to do is get her to follow Collingwood.

lol trying to get us league fans interested in AFL is not an easy feat ;)

I knew you would be a Knights fan! Hubby and I have a deal I support the Knights when it is on here which is very rare, as long as he follows Collingwood.

This is all good news, there is a chance to meet Jade again at the Oz open. Very remote chance but I might be going :)
Maybe Jade will meet a nice young strapping tennis player. Maybe from Spain hey claudiamrv19? ;) hahaha

You've got it backwards; we civilized people from Down South are fully aware that old rusted on bum sniffing northern Barbarians are a lost cause. It's no use trying to teach an old dog new tricks as they say.

What were're after in the thugby States are the hearts and minds of the new generation of children who haven't succumbed to the jealousy-fueled brainwashing of hating anything to do with Victoria, including our Great National Game of Australian Football.

It won't happen overnight but it will happen and footy. And by footy I mean Australian Footy not rugby. Why certain people refer to the rugbies as 'footy', when most thugby players can go an entire game without kicking the ball once is beyond me.

And that is the sad part. I don't see her running either. As much as I appreciated her saying they were just trying to get to know each other after the show, I knew if he said let's be official, she'd be all over it.

As for Ed,and this charity, all I can imagine is they talked about it privately. Surely, this was in the works while she was in Melbourne, so he knew about it. It seems quite strange to me, but I'm assuming they are making a real effort to keep what is happening, or not happening, between them off social networks, when they are not in the same space together.

I'll admit, I don't follow which one likes the other's photos but I can't imagine them being in a bad place and her following his brother. That just seems off. She hasn't followed Nick this whole time, so why do it when Ed is mad at her or she is mad at him? Personally, when I'm sad or mad at someone, following the person closest to them would not be my course of action. I guess my whole long post amounts to, who knows?

Haha - pretty much sums it up

Someone woke up on the wrong side of the bed this morning.

Lol you give yourself too much credit. You actually have to care about something one way or another to form hatred. I've never met anyone who gave two hoots about forming an opinion on all things Victorian either positive or negative. You personally seem to harbour an inferiority complex and a severe case of tall poppy syndrome though so maybe the feeling of indifference is not mutual ;)

Naming aside, how one could criticise league (union is shit) for its lack of kicking when that component of the game is replaced with such a gruelling physical contest that doesn't exist in AFL is beyond me.

You and your hubby seem like you have things sorted ;)
