Jade 2013 Appreciation thread

Neither...but I don't think the issue here (at least from my perspective) is Jade being criticised. The issue is more posters here getting mocked and criticised for liking Jade. That's where it suddenly doesn't become okay in my eyes, especially when one of the posters copping shit for defending Jade may or may not be her father.
Again I'm not referring to anything [MENTION=35834]Sweet_Geek[/MENTION] has posted - I didn't even know she had responded to the poster who may be Jade's father until today to be honest...and I'm sure knowing her there's no way she would have been attacking the poster in an intentionally nasty way. I was referring to a post I saw last week where the poster who may be Jade's father (I'm still not convinced) was essentially mocked for supporting her. Now to me it's not cool mocking posters for who they support regardless...it just makes it even worse when there's a chance it was her father.

I think she will be safe but you never know and I am always scared she wont be. Seeing so many great pictures of Jade around today, such a gorgeous girl. I really hope she make it to that final 3, she deserves it. She got this far without betraying, back stabbing or being nasty and lying. Good on her.
Catching up on live feed now, I got some new rescue kittens today so been super busy getting them onto the bottle and everything. <3 Trust me, you only need to see the picture to understand how I couldn't leave them lol SO ADORABLE!!!!

OMG, they are so beautiful. Good on you for saving them. I've had one of mine since she was 2 weeks old. I had to bottle feed her, make her go to the toilet, etc. She was so tiny & helpless. She is now a very happy, very spoilt, very much loved 3 year old.

Maybe not the man himself directly but someone related to Jade... the forum is a horrifying experience for anyone who knows the HMs personally. I don't think it is hard to hold out on name-calling and insults on other forum users given that regardless of the identity issue, the forum members should be wary of this possibility
I agree - even the off chance that user was Jade's dad breaks my heart.

But is it okay to make people feel guilty about it? It's a forum, any insult directed at you should kind of be taken with a grain of salt. Doubt anyone knew it was Jade's dad and wanted to insult him personally. There was no malice and people are making a mountain out of a molehill.
I'm sorry if it appeared that way, but I wasn't trying to "guilt" people, hence why this was a one sentence comment afterwards, but I genuinely had a heart sink moment. Dismount your high horse. I was just stating my feelings - is that not allowed? You seem to be very upset that I am "guilt"ing people for someone who says any insult should be taken with a grain of salt

Bottom line, I don't like seeing posters attack or mock other posters. The HMs are fair game for criticism. They've put themselves into a situation where they're open to it. But to mock someone and say they must have issues for supporting who they do just doesn't sit well with me...especially when there's the off chance it was said to a man defending his daughter.
I feel awful that blame was pointed at [MENTION=35834]Sweet_Geek[/MENTION] because I've read the post and like I expected she wasn't trying to attack him at all. However people are doing it, and in this instance the post I saw directed at him upset me even before I knew there was a chance it was her dad. Now I just feel sick.
I know I'm a sap and overly emotional usually but that just wasn't cool.

We all have said things about hm's, I'm sure you have too. Can you honestly say that you have been wary of that when you comment? I'm not trying to be rude, I promise! I'm simply stating that many posters just post, just that. There is no malice in that. I also don't think this should be the argument or reasoning for saying why discussions can't be made in certain ways, because really everyone has their own standards of what's okay and not okay to post. That's why I think comments should be about hm's and not to be made personally to forum users because everyone should have a right to post what they think.

Yes! I thought I was the only one who thought that. She's popped up in the background of a couple of videos but that's it.
Did I attribute it to a specific user? I can't even remember who it was who said it, I just remember it being uncomfortable reading it, and I am no way blaming then, it just has made me realise I need to make sure I don't insult forumers personally. Are you thinking I was referring to [MENTION=35834]Sweet_Geek[/MENTION] - I think we have established wholeheartedly that is the ONLY person we aren't talking about. You are on your high horse because I said "I agree - even the off chance that user was Jade's dad breaks my heart" and you went on a rant about me guilting people. For one comment. One comment that was based on my own feelings. Don't read so much into it. It's a Jade Appreciation Thread, its not like anyone who would make those comments would come here

I can't decide whether Jade is getting an invisible edit (though she can be seen or head in several videos) is necessarily a bad thing. In the past it has been seen as bad for a nominated HM to be invisible, but considering that the updates with Ed and Maddie invariably seem to involve discussing Tim in a negative way - it may be good.
There has been so much publicity in the media the last couple of days regarding the Tahan BF/voting and bias editing that this could have had an effect

So you agree. I was talking about bad language against users, bad language about housemates is offensive to some of us too but it should not cross into the personal sphere. With this kind of attitude the other poster returns the offensive remark at a later date and so on and so forth. I have been wary enough not to bluntly insult HMs (these type of things do not facilitate open-ended discussion IMO) but I posted some extremely fierce criticism too which some posters could not stand for and had to resort to personal attacks. That post was not meant to be personal (I dont even know what you said) but simply to serve caution upon insulting users (keeping in mind the new assumptions which have risen around here)

Two things come to my mind: one an invisible edit to get people to vote for the others for many reasons, but mainly because there might be a huge difference where jade is leading with an exceptional %. Two, bb wants people to forget about jade for whatever reason like getting people to vote for the others as it might be more shock to see an original go before an intruder. Who knows with bb.
Yeah, I hope you're right. Usually I associate invisible edits as a bad thing but it might not be in this case.

Yes I agree but not to worry over every little possibility, because family members are going to see it all as personal IMO. It won't matter if it is said in the lightest tone, it will all be offensive and really that won't be helped.

Look I don't take anything personally said by any of you except one person which I hope we have cleared the air now with, so I'm sure we are fine now. I think it only seemed that way because the comment came after our previous discussions. But I know you meant no harm and wasn't directed at me. All cool.
