Jade 2013 Appreciation thread

Ed and Jade have moved on - In the lunch debate (re-noms) the other day he said - he was now very close to Jade things have changed,- Jade said -we are practically a couple. Tim queried prior to that and Ed said - Australia knows.
Unfortunately, Australia does not know - we get no updates on their friendship so we have to guess where it is at.

This is true, and people keep commenting on how it was, rather than how it is, and refuse to see any different.
I'll admit that my views on Ed have been coloured by how he was at the beginning, and seeing how it had impacted on people's opinions of Jade.
I also don't like how he tells her to confront people, but at least that's shown people that she doesn't just do what he says, she handles things in her own way. Although I've seen people not even acknowledging that, so it's kind of like damned if you do, damned if you don't at this point.
 
Ed has literally no one but Jade right now. When his friends were still there, Jade said she hardly ever talks to him. Hopefully he's not using her and they did find some connection (romantic, friendship, whatever). I personally still don't see it. They never laugh together, have interesting conversations, share stories or anything really. They bring out eachother's boring sides from what I've seen. So I can't help but think Ed is close with Jade simply cos he has no one else.

I can be confrontational if I want to be especially if I believe in something and feel it needs to be voiced. Unfortunately growing up it wasn't easy and never ever saying a word or sticking up for myself as an adult I have found that part of me and can't help myself now. I'm still overly sensitive which sucks lol. Maybe these boards will do us some good after all.
[MENTION=35037]Drade 2013[/MENTION], I still think jade is a lovely person but I feel like she has changed slightly with Ed and feel like she is trying to be this person who agrees with him when he does not care for jade in the same way. That's why I said she was acting a fool. But that's how I view it and I am not sure how else that can be said, but if it sounds harsh just let me know and I'll be more considerate of how it will make yu guys feel. . Anyways it's all part of forum life to banter I suppose so gotta take the good and the bad

They don't show us any of their convo's that is my point. When they had the dinner and they talked of sterotypes you got a view from Ed things that Jade had talked about.

Yeah I thought as much as well when during the Tim-Ed fight, Ed voiced things are different now, they were closer than they once were. We don't get to see Ed and Jade speak to each other as such, 1 on 1. There's always been someone there with them and when they're left alone in that round seat they always cuddle in, the focus is always on someone else. I think we have next to no insight into the connection they share and I agree that we are left to fill in the blanks. Some people fill it through negative assumptions, some through good but in the end no one can be right. Right?

Completely agree. & What a good point, [MENTION=32689]hawke[/MENTION]. You totally nailed it. Ed himself has said to the whole group that their relationship dynamic has changed since a few weeks ago and that 'Australia knows' - clearly we don't know, but he has acknowledged that it has changed.
 
The problem is the producers WANT the editorial line that Ed's a cad and is not into her and Jade's stupid. That's their line and they can't go back on it now.

Ultimately, they want Tim, Drew and Tahan to be the final three so the scenario works for both the story arc and the end-goal. If Ed broke down and begged her to move in with him they wouldn't air it.

Very true :pp We only get to see the bits BB chooses to show, so none of us really know the dynamics between these two. If live streaming was still the way we could view BB, then at least we could make accurate informed opinions, as it is, whether you like or dislike Ed & Jades relationship, we aren't privvy to how it really is, so can only make assumptions. some are very negative some are more positive. BB only feeds us what they want us to see.

Yes I was talking about you. I find it remarkable that my tongue in cheek comment about you potentially making a fool of yourself has caused you to take offence when you potentially told Jade's father that she IS making a fool of herself with Ed. There are a lot of double standards on this forum.

This is not aimed at you but the vitriol that has been levelled at Jade on these forums beggars belief. It is hard to imagine how a family member must feel when reading these hateful comments. I seriously believe that some people need to reassess their lives to see why they have so much hatred for other people that they don't really know. Unfortunately a pack mentality seems only to be making it worse. The whole point of my comment is that seeing as this poster may indeed be Jade's father or a family member (I have read a lot of his posts), it should serve to remind everybody when posting that Jade is a real person with real family members who all have feelings just like posters and their family members do.

Agreed. It's propaganda basically. Keep repeating a lie until it's true. The whole viewing and digital/social audience has bought it.

Case in point: Ed says he admires her because she can speaks 2 languages. That's all that went to air. Not the bit about her childhood struggle, how she was humble and didn't expect everything on a platter due to the way she looks. None of that went to air. That's not the line they're spinning.

O the power of the media.

Julia Gillard case in point. Brilliant PM but the media sold she failed. She passed over 500 pieces of good legislation in a hung parliament. Best negotiator ever.

I always seem to agree with you on Jade but couldn't disagree with you more on JG. :-) The media is mightly powerful and the bias I see on BB I also see on the nightly news in terms of how something is reported or whether or not it is reported. Re legislation, it is quality not quantity and there is a lot of red and green tape strangling Australia now.

So you know for a fact that was jades father? We are discussing the hm's are we not on these boards? When I commented, was I to be aware that it was her father? Btw it is still not confirmed and I don't believe it was. Double standards to what exactly? Have I attacked you in some way? Have I pulled you up on talking about other Hm's like ed, drew, tahan etc? Have I actually mentioned about another forum member talking about a hm and to go so far and cause a rumour mill about it? You have. So there are no double standards here. You have created a perception that a user may be jades dad and stated that I was rude. That is how I take it.

That part not aimed at me, I think you need to stop assuming people hate these hm's when it could just be a person discussing a hm. But it's fina and dandy for you to accept that your own fan base can say things about other hm's but it's not ok for others to do the same because its negative to jade? They are all real people and all have family. Not just jade. But unfortunately people will discuss these hm's and it isn't always going to be positive things. So the point I'm making is that double standards should be looked from every angle and not just one from jades point of view.

Not trying to start a fight here, but yes I did take offence, because I was singled out when I know for a fact that I try my best to try and keep my opinions as clean as possible. I may sometimes sway from that path and find myself commenting fresh from a live feed or episode I just watched, but I do try and reflect on it and re assess my thoughts. The comment I made was in no way meant to be malicious. I stand by that.

I miss a lot of you guys here and I enjoyed many of your posts not just in here but outside of this thread. Some of you have lovely posts and I think you can change a persons opinion when you enlighten them with a different point of view. I know many times I thought one thing, but someone like Insomniac has changed my mind because of her point of view in things.


Anyways, I'll leave this convo here. This is a thread about jade and to get back on track, I really enjoyed when the girls came together and high fives one another. I know it was to laugh at Tim, but I'm not talking about what they high fives each other. I just liked that the girls did seem to have each others back, it's good to see that when it seems like there is a divide.

The double standards I was referring to was that you were taking offence to me calling you out on a comment that Jade and her family would most likely find offensive. In other words, if you dish it out then you should be able to take it. I never actually named you, I was just mentioning a negative post that Jade's father potentially was reading and responding to yesterday. Your comment wasn't particularly harsh, I have seen far, far worse but I was making a point that people need to remember that housemates' families may be reading these comments.

As for my other comment, there is a difference between discussing a housemate and constantly spewing hateful vitriol about them.

I think you are comparing two very different situations. These hm's are placing themselves in a house to be discussed and that's what we are doing joining a forum to discuss. I don't see how you can even say there is double standards there, it's like me pulling up every single person and making it personal if they commented about a hm. It can easily said about you and the like.

All in all, this isn't about dishing it out and not being able to take it. It's simply the fact that by saying that it means no discussion should be made about any hm's,. I don't want to have to feel if I make a comment that I am going to be called up on it and feel awkward for stating an opinion. You may not have mentioned my name but you are giving reason for others to figure it out and also say things about forum Users tongue in cheek style and to me that is taking it making it personal.

You've expressed your feelings, and I've expressed mine. I will make a better effort to not spew hate if that's what you think, but just remember that the live feeds are entertaining at times and not to be taken personally. I am not going to go in the midset with I could be talking to a family member but rather enjoy myself and debate and talk about everything and anything that may come up.
 
I think The HM's families would know it would be a bad idea to check out a BB discussion forum. When I criticize a HM their family reading it doesn't even cross my mind. Everyone knows when you go on big brother you will be brutally critiqued. ALso, Jade's father barely speaks a word of English. Highly doubt he would sign up.
