Jade 2013 Appreciation thread

Her weakness is ed and since she isn't smart enough to see he is bad for her, I'm more than happy to help in evicting him :)

Wish bb would get off her back and show us more of this. It's like they are trying to get ppl to hate her.
Love the first para,100% agree with the second.

Yeah but I think emotional stability matters to her more cause her ex hurt her so much, Drew and Tim seem a bit more unpredictable to her in terms of their personalities, and she's said that what she likes about Ed is that he's the kind of guy who's ready to settle down and wants to start a family. She said Ed is completely different from the guys she's dated, who were more like Drew and Tim so I think she's expecting him to be more straightforward and committed.

Interesting - has Ed ever given any indication he's even remotely interested in settling down? To be honest, given Jade's set of criteria of what she's looking for I would have thought Drew was a better fit. I just don't get her thinking at all.

This makes complete sense. Perhaps her expectation that Ed would be more committed and straightforward because he's different is a bit simplistic, causing her all kinds of problems.

Yeah, seems to me she's equating boring with stability & the desire to settle down.

I feel so sorry for Jade, because I did what she did with a boy, and now looking back I cringe. I put myself done, embarrassed myself so much, just like Jade. Thinking about it still makes me cringe. Nobody could show me what they saw.

Just curious - how old were you at the time?

You know what is interesting, just read an interview that Caleb gave in a magazine saying he was surprised that Tim made a move on Jade because Tim gave the impression to him that he has a GIRLFRIEND on the outside!I guess Tim's strategy was to highlight Jade and Ed so he comes out of it looking like a underdog seeking unrequited love!!Why didn't Big Brother show that scene when Tim told Caleb about his girlfriend...is it selective editing in Tims favour??

BREAKING NEWS!Does anyone know Tim has a GIRLFRIEND on the outside??

Well yes he has!It was the time when he was asking Ben what his goals or what he wants to achieve in the near future.Ben replied he would love to take his mum to Graceland to see Elvis memorial, whereas Ed replies that the thing he wants the most is to have children.I think that would require him to settle down.Besides in Drews videolog he did say he "isn't in a hurry to get married unless something drastic happens".

Didn't see this posted yet in here from Ed's brother: "This whole Jade thing has gone to a new level! She is OBSESSED...! Poor thing, I think she is delusional. According to Ed and the evicted HMs I have spoken to, Ed has told Jade numerous times that nothing will happened between them. It seems she wasn't listening. I really do wish I could chat to Ed for 5 minutes, he needs to be aware of her honest feelings because currently he's fueling the fire! My mum and sister practically scream at the T.V about Ed's 'relationship'. I'm pretty sure mums not a huge fan of the idea. We all think Jade is lovely. She's absolutely gorgeous and a sweet girl at heart but she obviously has a few insecurities (I'm not sure why) and has adopted a need for a companion to fill the void. That companion is of course Ed and no matter what he tells her, in her eyes they are 'together'. Maybe she thinks she can change his mind! I'm almost certain I won't have a sister-in-law anytime soon... you never know though!"

It seems he's finally clued in to stop talking smack about Jade after taking heat from her fans.

The key words in Eds brother post is that he needs to be aware of her honest feelings as he is currently fueling the fire.Sleeping in Jades bed last two nights is an example of this.

For sure. I think he's saying what many of us have been for awhile although I don't think he's coming from a pure place with this new realisation... more that he's doing damage control after him and his sister trashed Jade and copped flack for it.

I found it more interesting that his mother's not a fan of the relationship (whatever it is). It makes me wonder what kind of girl she thinks is suitable for her son if she doesn't support him dating a gorgeous, sweet, hard working girl who obviously cares about him.

What were they saying about Jade? If a girl kept chasing my brother, I wouldn't like her much either. However, Ed keeps the physical stuff going with Jade, so of course she's going to develop feelings for him. He's an idiot if he thinks she won't. She's a NICE girl with real feelings and emotions - thus... it's inevitable. Only a robotic girl would be able to do what he's asking for.

Wish she'd just smarten up on this and let him go. Also, she needs to start wearing shorts that cover her arse adequately. Can see up her butt practically in those tiny black briefs or what ever they are.

I have to strongly disagree with the bolded. We're in the 21st Century, the age of 'Friends With Benefits' where women can supposedly have indiscriminate sex without developing any silly notions of romantic feelings for a guy.

And I think this is the deal Ed believes he is signing up for with jade but does not what jade's selectively hearing for reasons only known to herself. Every time Ed acquiesces to her sexual overtures, she interprets that as a small ray of hope to establishing a serious relationship with him.

Who's at fault then? I reckon jade has to wear most of the blame, but that's just my opinion. Ed doesn't realise that jade is still living in a 1950s mindset and I don't think it's fair to put that on him.

If we were in 1950s then I would whole heartedly agree that Ed is a deadset prick for leading her on for his own carnal pleasure. But we're not so jade is the one who has to smarten up or she's in for a lot of pain in the upcoming years.

You're right, she does need to smarten up, but she won't, so she will learn the hard way and hopefully she will watch herself on bb after this and learn something. But if she wants to keep doing this to herself, then there's not much anyone can do for now.

Jade does seem to have the 1950's mindset. Having an Italian background and conversing with this side of her life, perhaps she has adapted their passionate ways. Whatever the reason if she wants that, well it isn't impossible, she just needs to find someone with that mindset too.

Out of all the girls I do like her personality the most, it doesn't change that she is a lovely person, her only fault to me is ed and yes it is cringeworthy. However for me compared to everyone else I still like her. Tahan is the other girl I like, I adore her as well, except she can be a little to full on. But being in the environment they are in I'm sure the hm's feelings and reactions are heightened.

Why should Jade take most of the blame in this Ed fiasco? Why is it always the female that cops the flack? She is still young and naive in terms of relationship understanding. The ONUS is on ED as he is 27yrs old, supposedly more worldly and 'wiser' than her,so he deserves more blame as he keeps fueling the flame.I don't know what sort of moral compass this modern world has if it's OK to continue to play with a female emotion even if he is the only one in this relationship that thinks that they're just friends with benefit. If that's the case maybe the modern world should time travel to the 1950s where at least certain moral values exist.

I love Jade, but she is going full on crazy with Ed. It's not that she wants him .... or that she wishes she could have him ... it's things like "I don't want to hear him say he doesn't want me again ... it's annoying." And "Why can't we be a couple? What's wrong with that?" And "I feel like we're dating." Crying when he kisses Jasmine. Saying there should be a girl code just because SHE likes him even though he doesn't want her. And crazy things like that. When she mentions she KNOWS he doesn't want her ... and just finds it annoying when he says it and completely misses the meaning of what he's saying. The meaning is just not getting into her head at all.

It genuinely seems crazy. Seriously. She's even overheard him saying he would like Heidi's personality and Tahan's face and she still is after him. She mentions he never comes to her and she always has to go to him and she can't get the hint. She talks about him ALL THE TIME and cried about him in the diary room. He put her up for eviction and she's still after him!

If a guy was doing the same thing it would be just as creepy.

I love everything about Jade except for how she is with men.

He is worldly enough to know that she is infatuated with him(bracelet incident)however it suits his gameplan and stroked his ego to continue this fiasco even if she gets hurt. She doesn't have the benefit of consulting with family and friends.Everyone in there has an agenda.

Is this why the sisters haven't said anything, or are they as naive as she is. It is weeks now, months actually, when a friend would have said 'He is just really not that into you... seriously. Think about this..." and go through and point out the signs. Cause there have been signs.

Mikkayla I can understand. She is a little more machiavellian and Tim-like, so she would be happy to see such a big contender self destruct.

Drew wont tell her, because his ego was bruised a little, and also it would have been hard to broach it, after the marriage and his schoolboy crush. When Tim and Drew went into the PS, he still seemed a bit mocking and bitter -\they can't even talk to each other...' He knew what was going on, an unreturned infatuation, but he was jealous. Also, he hates Ed and is a bit disgusted = at the very least, disappointed - that Jade would choose someone like Ed over him. I think he thought less of her - ' Oh, that's all you want?' Now, he is happy to let it damage Ed's game.

Tim egged her on by proxy from the start.

Tahan isn't her friend, but would probably have done a good job, as she would probably have done a good job with Tully the other night if Drew hadn't come out, and just as she did re racism and Mikkayla the other night.
