Yeah, I think the Aussie media understands that their presenters are going to have lives that may include drinking. I think of someone like Lauren Phillips who is one of the two hosts for WB Kids and also is on Getaway (a travel show that Tim and Tahan did a segment for and Ed said he'd be interested in for those not in Aus). She's also a Myer ambassador and for a big charity that slips my mind right now and was even on Carols by Candlelight this year which is a pretty big deal. And yet her account is full of drunken pics and she's tagged in them a lot too yet she's still kicking ass in her career that was created only because she was dating Gary Ablett Jr so it's not like she has some amazing talent that people are giving her a pass for. (I promise I don't stalk her... I know her current boyfriend through work so I'm just well-versed on all things Loz haha.)
Unless Ed gets into repeated drunken brawls or starts blurting out racist or homophobic crap on SM, him being photographed out drinking with his mates or a bunch of different girls isn't going to have an ounce of effect on his career prospects at all. In fact, him always being with his footy buddies would probably help more than hinder as it shows that despite him no longer being in the AFL for quite some time, he still has great friendships and connections in the league. If he doesn't end up getting a gig even after taking classes to assist with it, it'll be because he's not right for it, nothing to do with him going out or who he follows on SM. And for what it's worth, I don't really dig the sweaty look on any guy and don't find Ed to be a hottie anyway although I do think he's good looking, but I definitely enjoy seeing the guy he shows on SM more than I ever did when he was in the house. It's much more real. He's definitely good for a laugh, if not for his hashtags and some of his clothing choices if nothing else.
