In The News

I'm not religious but not for one minute do I think he represents those who are, he represents his own sick beliefs.

Yes, you're right, of course. But he represents his own obsessions, chauvinism and prejudices with such unthinking venom that he'd give any ideology a bad name. (To loosely quote that great philosopher, Jon Bon Jovi.)

Looks like a born again - and they generally have fucked up so badly somewhere they grasp at being saved.

But surely the Liberal party is the anti-Christ?
Confused bugger

What is wrong with you?

Nothing Too Serious @ this stage, thanks for asking Eliza.

My avatar's thyroid function is more or less stable for now cheers to a tiny pill I will it to take every day, but its blood pressure is a tad on the high side and its resting pulse rate is a tad on the low side compared to "the norm" but whose to say that both aren't totally normal for its particular genetic origins, eh ? Also, as we know from the "saga of the sorry bottom" told/experienced the other year, mucking around my avatar's kidney function to modulate blood pressure didn't turn out so well, so the argument can be made that, by no longer seeking/receiving medicaton/treatment for that sort of thing, the health of my avatar is less than optimal and very likely its lifespan is being reduced.

Oh well, that's opportunity cost for ya; ya can't have everything, eh ? My life, my choice, "reap what I sow" and all that.

Maybe my avatar will last as long as that of the soul whose name I've not been using in this forum, or maybe it won't ... and maybe it will be taken out by more or less the very same ailment !

That said, the last medical examination / blood tests et al (carried out around a month ago) showed that it's not in a diabetes risk zone ATM, which is somewhat surprising considering all the things, including poor dietry and exercise habits and all sorts of empiricisms I've inflicted upon it over the years.

Anyhoo, nuff about me (though how the forum is itching to make it so :D). How are you going ? What is wrong with you ? Anything all that serious ?

... he represents his own sick beliefs.

oh goody, it's "expose the real hypocrite" and "pinned between the twin horns of a dilemma" (hi wynter) (etc) time again ! :D

Let's start with you providing what and/or who is/provides your measure/benchmark of what is and is not "sick", eh Eliza ?

As you sit and blush, I wonder which of the standard logical fallacies you will first consider appealing to first this time around before reluctantly admitting to yourself that you've been caught out yet again and that probably the least humiliating response is either to not respond at all or resort once more to your oft used in the past "I don't know, I'm just a girl, I don't understand what you're saying" routine. :D

Anyhoo, I'll make it easy for you. By "sick" / "sick beliefs" you basically mean "somebody who doesn't agree with me or people I generally agree with", yes ?

In short, your morality and measure is subjectively decided upon rather than of objective origins ?

How convenient for you that "sick" can be whatever you deem it to be, hmmm ?

... and how fortunate for me that in this country (especially now that it looks like the totalitarian minded left-ardians are going to be booted out of government for potentially decades) your chosen measure (that is somewhat typical of those who embrace subjectivity over objectivity) can't be used to deny me freedom.

... or can it ?

So, my real question is this. Is it in your nature to try (to deny me freedom) ?

Why do you finish a sentence with a yes? I gather the entire sentence is just written to produce an effect rather than to summon an answer.

lulz @ your demonstration of denial. Cheers for being entertaining. :)

... and for other kinds of examples of denial and/or entertainment, do enjoy:

Hmmm, I reckon I'm gunna have to get me a banjo between now and then ... be quicker for me to get a reasonable sound out of one of those than a fiddle, though I want to get me one of those too.

Here's another way the western world is being softened up ready for the "no one can buy or sell lest they have the mark" and all that.

From: http://au.ign.com/articles/2013/05/22/xbox-one-what-we-do-and-dont-know

Does it require an internet connection?

YES. Xbox One will need to connect to the internet every 24 hours in order to let you play games on your primary console. On any other console, it will need to connect to the Internet every hour. Some games and services will require a persistent connection. If you are somewhere without any Internet connection at all, such as a military base, you will NOT be able to use Xbox One. Watching TV or Blu-Ray discs is exempt from this restriction.

Xbox One will need to connect to the Internet to authenticate you and check which games you own as well as connect to the Cloud. Games are tied to your Xbox Live account, so without connecting to the Internet the Xbox One won't be able to verify that you own them. A side-note: as a result, you can play all your games from any Xbox One console.

More than a bit cheeky to sell a device that will cease to be anything other than an expensive media disk player within 24hrs of it being disconnected from the internut.

Certainly not something I'm inclined to either buy or recommend.

How long before Microsoft and google get together to work out a blanket licensing fee permanently linked to individuals from birth to death rather than devices and software I wonder ? ;) :)

A town in Spain is mailing dog poo pest the poo they don't pick up, tee hee.

And another trick - they have a remote control fake poo, when a person fails to pick up the shit, the dog poo chases them.

I chuckled slightly at that one when I read abou tit on google news the other day.

Seeing it here has reminded me of this, which I saw yesterday, while shopping with lscp, that k-mart was selling for only $15.

I soooooo wanted to get one and leave it parked under the lounge suite and have it run out at (derspatz determined) suitable moments when "entertaining" guests but lscp over-rooled me coz she was worried my jolly japery might literally give heart attacks to her folks. :D

Hey, at least it wouldn't smell of dog poop ... though no telling what sort of other smells it might invoke. :D

Former Liberal Finance Minister Nick Minchin, and former (Labor) Keating Minister Gary Johns.

Wow !

BTW, which way will you be voting in the election day referendum re: recognising (and therefore) giving more power to local government and undermining state government and basically helping turning Oz into Soviet States ?

As a local government employee I feel that I am obliged to either abstain/donkey vote or vote NO on the question for I feel it to be both immoral and unethical for a public servant to vote for personal benefit/gain over what is actually best for a country.

Yet more queue jumping country shopping economic opportunists are lured to their deaths thanks to KRudd, Fabian Socialist Julia Gillard and the Greenazis (I reckon Gillard doesn't really care who die in the attempt just as long as she can get as many enemies of freedom and Christianity upon the Oz mainland as possible for as long as she can), and what do we find Gillard doing ?

Knitting.

See: http://www.michaelsmithnews.com/201...e-dead-as-a-result-and-she-proudly-sits-.html

There is no policy, no deterrent, no action and no care. 70 more dead as a result. And she proudly sits and knits.

And a huge LEAK

This is a bit of a worry.

It's not a new thing and it's probably been going on for years but it's now in the open that things like this are happening. Where is the expectation of privacy? And I don't think that it's just the USA. I think many countries in the West are doing this all in the name of "protection" and while they do this people's liberties are whittled away.

See this is why I'm not a fan of "clouds"

See all this kind of stuff makes me very suspicious about things like Microsoft Skydrive and "clouds" which a lot of software companies now offer. Sure stick your music and pictures in the "cloud" but who can then access them when you're not using it?

Sure an over simplification but I wouldn't put it past agencies to be snooping in people's clouds..

Oh the humanity ... all those copies of vid clips showing cats playing piano and kids blowing out birthday candles !

Oh the poor, poor, weird, tin hat wearing man.

He keeps throwing out the line, but no one is biting.

For the love of God will someone just give him something?! This is starting to become awkward. I mean I would.. but I simply can not tolerate interacting with someone who refers to themselves as a third person, has trouble constructing a basic sentence and uses words like "qool" and "internut".

Blue Tie Day / Clean Up Oz Day

"I invite you to imagine it. A prime minister – a man in a blue tie – who goes on holidays to be replaced by a man in a blue tie." -Fabian Socialist misandrist sexist Julia Gillard

... and here and here you can find a bunch of blue tie wearing men:

... oh dear, how many are actually laborites ... and one is her darling timmy ! lol.

[adit] and for those who don't do link clicky ...

bt1.jpgbt2.jpgbt3.jpgbt4.jpgbt5.jpgbt6.jpgbt7.jpgbt8.jpg

Also see:

http://blogs.news.com.au/heraldsun/...heraldsun/comments/september_14_blue_tie_day/

Everyone is laughing:

Reader Carlo:

Garrett just interviewed on ABC News 24. Wearing a BLUE TIE!

Reader min:

Latika Bourke on ABC wearing a blue tie whilst making her political comments. What can one say when the lefties are taking the mickey out of her.

Kevin Rudd calls her out. He knows Julia Gillard’s “blue ties” speech was as much about stopping him as stopping Tony Abbott:

KEVIN Rudd has denied his decision to wear a blue tie on the campaign trail in Sydney was a declaration of war on Julia Gillard, but a matter of fashion sense… Mr Rudd said he relied on his wife Therese and daughter Jessica to choose his ties and “this was the one packed for this particular occasion”.

... and in other news:

http://blogs.news.com.au/heraldsun/.../labor_shocked_that_schools_are_for_teaching/

Labor is shocked - shocked - that it suddenly can’t use school children as political props, and use school buildings for political fundraisers:

JULIA Gillard was locked out of a televised show she was to appear on with British comedian Ben Elton in a Perth school last night after West Australian Premier Colin Barnett ordered the Education Department to cancel it…

The Labor Party is considering legal action against the West Australia government.

The incident came on the same day School Education Minister Peter Garrett received similar treatment in Queensland, where he was to spruik Gonski reforms before the state banned him.

Much to Garrett’s surprise, the government prevented him from visiting local schools - telling him it was fed up with their “schoolchildren being used as props” in a political campaign.

I suspect Labor has become too accustomed to using public schools for propagandising:

The Prime Minister’s office has accused the West Australian Government of ”outrageous political censorship” after a Labor fundraiser featuring British comedian Ben Elton had to be relocated with only a day to spare.

No, it’s not political censorship. Labor is quite entitled to preach politics. But public schools were built for the education of children at public expense, and not to be Labor pulpits for a tin-rattle.

and

Gillard dreams of burning journalists

Ms Gillard also had a crack at the media when asked what she would like to borrow from her favourite television program, Game of Thrones, a blood-thirsty fantasy about a race to be supreme ruler.

“I wouldn’t mind having a few dragons,” she said.

”There’d be better questions from journalists at press conferences if the alternative was being burnt to death. I think that would work well.”

ButOfCourse we shouldn't be worried about a marxist fabian socialists who wants to burn people, no doubt while uttering the line "it pleases me" in Dothraki, no ?
