Floods keep the Prime Minister’s agenda afloat

Floods keep the Prime Minister’s agenda afloat
by Rowan Dean, The Australian Financial Review 9/3/12

As floods again swamp NSW, Prime Minister Julia Gillard was welcomed by grateful members of relieved working families along the banks of the Murrumbidgee. Reminding those affected by the floods that the ravages of climate change are now being felt throughout the land on a daily basis, Gillard, accompanied by her popular partner Tim Mathieson, helped airlift food to a group of grateful kiddies frolicking on top of their house.

“We will fight climate change on the disappearing beaches and from every submerged rooftop, and I’ll raise the carbon price to $75 a tonne if I have to until these waters recede,” she promised, to loud applause. “Thanks to the superbly profitable and educational national broadband network, these children will now be able to move forward, despite the floods, and enjoy the privilege of our educational revolution, which has been spearheaded by the popular and successful Gonski reforms, currently being implemented in every school throughout the country, except those private schools run by greedy, self-interested vested interests,” said the Prime Minister, as she brushed off rumours of a recent Newspoll.

“As you know, polls come and go. Newspoll, in particular, went a long time ago when the Murdoch press sank without a trace, so we don’t have to trouble ourselves with hypothetical speculation about what it may or may not have contained because it doesn’t exist any more.”

Gillard was quick to point out that the floods were entirely due to the irresponsible negativity of long-term Opposition Leader Tony Abbott. “Not only is the mining boom responsible for the devastation wrought by our two-speed economy, with disgustingly overweight mining tycoons carrying on willy-nilly, gorging themselves on the fat of the land while working families battle the floods, but Tony Abbott himself continually attempts to create a two-speed democracy, where he disgracefully disagrees with everything the people want me to get on with doing.”

Insurance companies that had refused to compensate for what they called an “act of God” were angrily rounded on by the popular Gillard, who accurately pointed out that: “Climate change is an Act of Man. One man in particular: Tony Abbott, who has done everything in his power to destroy the lives of working families up and down this river with his attitude to the important reforms introduced by my government.”

In other national developments, Jeff Lawrence has stood down as secretary of the ACTU, confirming to reporters what had long been the subject of industry concern: that an ingrown toenail was disrupting his ability to successfully do his job of improving the lives of working Australians. He then strongly recommended that the supremely talented Dave Oliver of the hard-working Australian Manufacturing Workers Union replace him. So he will.

Meanwhile, responding to criticism of Fair Work Australia’s reasonable work practices, popular chief Bernadette O’Neill explained that as a union official she had a duty of care to her membership to avoid co-operating with interfering police officers, according to accepted community expectations and long-standing practices that the trade union movement and Fair Work Australia are above the law.

“How can we help honest, hard-working Australians such as Craig Thomson prove that they’ve done nothing wrong whatsoever when the police keep butting in every five minutes? It’s a disgrace, and someone, preferably Tony Abbott, needs to be held to account.”

In Canberra later today, eminent QC Ray Finkelstein will accept the nation’s gratitude for services to raising Australian journalistic standards at a ceremony presided over by respected senator Stephen Conroy and broadcast live via the popular fibre-optic cable network.

In economic news, former Reserve Bank board member Warwick McKibbin, speaking publicly after a six-month period of quiet contemplation and relaxation, has labelled Treasurer Wayne Swan as “incapable of making an error” and praised him for “single-handedly developing  the fabric of good economic policy in Australia”.

Swan has been described by The Australian Financial Review as “the most competent treasurer since Jim Cairns”.

This article has been approved by the News Media Council.

:D

Nearly believable too, yes ?

Even truer would have to be:

Haters going to Hate ... but only from armchair

... at 11am today. Channel 10 security were on alert. This vast mob of Internet vigilantes bombing the station and the advertisers with abuse of Stynes and demands for her sacking had organised a demonstration at the station, timed to coincide with Styne’s show.

11am rolled up, and the total number of people at the protest was ... zero.

ah, but that's the internut for ya, eh ? ;):):)

An Iranian Christian being baptised

Iranian Christians rounded up in sweep of arrests across the country
The Iranian authorities are rounding up Christians across the country in a wave of arrests targeting ordinary church members - including a 78-year-old woman - and leaders.

Since Christmas, security agents have conducted sweeps of house churches in Ahwaz, Shiraz, Esfahan, Tehran and Kermanshah. Some officially registered churches have been targeted too. Christians have also been seized in their homes and workplaces.

In one incident, 78-year-old Giti Hakimpour was arrested in a raid on her home in Esfahan at 6am on 22 February. Officers searched the active church member's apartment and confiscated some of her belongings. Giti, who had recently undergone knee replacement surgery, was not in good health; her doctor had ordered that she needed special care and should not be subjected to stress. Following persistent efforts from church leaders, Giti was released on 25 February.

Hekmat Salimi, the pastor of another church in Esfahan, was arrested on the same day as Giti. His home was ransacked by security agents, who seized his computer, books and other personal belongings.

Elsewhere, in Kermanshah, Masoud Delijani, a Christian convert from Islam, has been jailed for three years. He was charged with being a Christian, holding illegal house church gatherings, evangelising Muslims and action against national security. Masoud, a school teacher, was not given the opportunity to defend himself in court.

Following his arrest in March 2011, Masoud was held in custody, mostly in solitary confinement, for 114 days, during which he was subjected to severe mental and physical pressure before being temporarily released upon a bail payment of around US$100,000.

Entire congregations have been gathered up in some swoops. On 21 February, the authorities raided a house church in Kermanshah and arrested all 13 Christians who had gathered for worship. According to latest reports, three remain in custody.

International pressure

This latest wave of arrests comes as Iran is under mounting international pressure over its nuclear programme. The country is on a collision course with the West, which is likely to make the Iranian authorities intensify their campaign against Christians, who are considered to be in allegiance with foreign powers because of their faith.

The authorities' unrelenting efforts to quash the spread of the Gospel in the Islamic Republic of Iran are failing as the Church continues to grow rapidly. An Iranian Christian told Barnabas Fund:

I feel sorry for the Iranian authorities because they don't realise that they're up against the Holy Spirit.

Dr Patrick Sookhdeo, International Director of Barnabas Fund, said:
"The authorities are turning the screw on our brothers and sisters in Iran and it appears that none of them, not even elderly church members, are safe from this campaign of intimidation and harassment. Those who are detained, and their families, often need practical assistance. As pressure on Iranian Christians intensifies, this need is growing, so I urge our supporters to give generously to this sensitive ministry."

The believers (funding and tenure scammers) have constructed so many different models that no matter what happens with the weather or climate there's one on the shelf ready to pull out, but I like the idea of hard to kill zombies too. :D

Just remember, it's no longer "global warming theory", it's "climate change". With little semantic tricks like that, the zombies keep coming at us for more money, more keep me in a job to save the world scat, more "I want to eat your brains" even though they think you have a tiny one.

Kony 2012 video director arrested in California for masturbating in public

THE director of the massively popular Kony 2012 video about a fugitive Ugandan rebel leader has been arrested on charges of masturbating in public and vandalising cars in San Diego.

Jason Russell, co-founder of the humanitarian group Invisible Children, was apparently intoxicated or under the influence of a controlled substance when he was arrested on Thursday on a street corner in San Diego, police said.

Police said they received several calls Thursday about a man in various stages of undress. He was reportedly running through traffic and screaming, dressed only in underwear, according to KNSD-TV.

San Diego police said that after his arrest, Russell was acting strangely and was transferred to a medical facility for further care.

Invisible Children's CEO Ben Keesey released a statement Friday saying Russell was "hospitalized yesterday [Thursday] suffering from exhaustion, dehydration, and malnutrition. He is now receiving medical care and is focused on getting better."

"The past two weeks have taken a severe emotional toll on all of us, Jason especially, and that toll manifested itself in an unfortunate incident yesterday," the statement said.

Russell catapulted to national fame this month after the "Kony 2012" video went viral. The video focuses on Joseph Kony, the leader of the Lord's Resistance Army, who is accused of recruiting children into sexual slavery and using them to fight against Uganda's government.

Since it surfaced on the internet in early March, the 30-minute video has become one of the most viral in history with some 137.2 million views, The Wall Street Journal reported.

I guess all those donations were well spent :)

Apparently, only a year to go !

Are you going to refuse it and be denied the ability to buy, sell, and own stuff and eventually end up losing your head in a public spectacle for your faith and stance, or are you going to accept it into your body (Rev 13 talks about either the forehead or right hand) and live out the rest of your days as a slave and suffer the fate / punishment spoken of in Rev 14 ?

With the derailing of CAGW scam / MMCC scam / means to an ends to establish global totalitarian government, the evil left-ard greenazis are going to have to act fast if they want to avoid having to wait another 50 years to have another go.

Which means we must be soon in for another "night of long knives" coupled with some sort of new global crisis that will more easily enable a suspension of democrazy and removal of individual rights. Their Big Lies have been well and truly exposed, so they shall now fall back on violence, fear, and intimidation.

... and the end will come like a flood.

Conroy to have direct say on which football matches air on television
by: DAVID CROWE, NATIONAL AFFAIRS EDITOR
From: The Australian March 22, 2012 2:32PM

COMMUNICATIONS Minister Stephen Conroy will have a direct say on the football matches shown live on TV each week under reforms unveiled today that give him wide discretion on sports broadcasting rights.

Senator Conroy will be able to "declare" the number of AFL and NRL matches that must be shown on free-to-air TV networks each week, in some cases stipulating regional areas that must see their home teams on the local TV station.

Remember, it is in the left-ard freedom hating "manifesto" that the government ala "the state" must be elevated to the stage that it controls everything.

How happy you lot must be that you are getting exactly what you so idiotically voted for, eh ?

How proud of you your enslaved children shall be !

Oh well, at least I get to publically crow about how correct I have been ... well, until the fascists you voted for finally get to drag me and my freedom and individualism loving kind off to the gulags and ovens that is.

KONY break down

snippets

Mr Russell, who made the 30-minute viral sensation, suffered a "reactive psychosis" that led to an incident last week

The preliminary diagnosis he received is called brief reactive psychosis, an acute state brought on by extreme exhaustion, stress and dehydration," she added

His wife said doctors have told the family that the incident "is a common experience given the great mental, emotional and physical shock his body has gone through in these last two weeks

Jason will get better. He has a long way to go, but we are confident that he will make a full recovery. He is, and will remain, under hospital care for a number of weeks; and after that, the recovery process could take months before he is fully able to step back into his role with Invisible Children

http://www.heraldsun.com.au/news/more-news/kony-meltdown-was-psychosis/story-e6frf7lf-1226307021737

Russell's family reiterated that the filmmaker's bizarre behavior was not due to drugs or alcohol.

He was given a preliminary diagnosis of brief reactive psychosis, in which a person displays sudden psychotic behavior

www.foxnews.com/health/2012/03/21/kony-2012-director-suffers-from-psychosis-wife-says/#ixzz1prLPQDEP

Researchers don't know how many people suffer from the condition, mainly because symptoms are fleeting, but those with personality disorders are at greater risk for having an episode. Brief reactive psychosis is triggered by trauma or major stress such as an accident or death of a loved one. Other stressors can include sleep deprivation or dehydration.

Symptoms include hallucinations, delusions and strange speech and behavior. People typically recover within a few weeks without medication. Others have to take antipsychotic drugs to alleviate symptoms or undergo talk therapy to cope.

The condition causes "temporary debilitation, but in general people have good recoveries," said Dr. Stephen Marder, professor of psychiatry at the University of California, Los Angeles.

In some cases, doctors say brief reactive psychosis can signal the beginning of a more serious mental illness such as schizophrenia

If a picture is worth a thousand words ...

Oh, and speaking of which, it looks like this forum has now limited the amount of image attachments to less than a single meg, which means many of us are now already WAY over the limit and unable to make any new image attachments. For example, even though I now have only NINETEEN images (all of then under a couple of hundred kb in size) the forum software has them logged as being EIGHT AND A HALF MEG in total size.

Crazy.

What is more, when doing an image reference to a URL, you can't have the "retrieve and display locally" box ticked, as that too counts towards a nonsense/broken quota.

So, what is the most popular/commonly used image hosting service folk around here use ? I just selected near to the first google showed me (postimage.com) but if there is a better/easier one out there, feel free to do the public service announcement thing.

Ok, now to go delete every last "attachment" I've made. The ability to display and delete them is under "settings" then "miscellaneous"

.
.

done

okay, for a test, I'll try it the old way and see how much is reported when I upload locally the above pic.

Nope, fail. Even though I have NO attachments to delete, trying to upload that 57kb pic returns a message that it would exceed my quote by 7.5mb

Guess I should repost this in the "site broken" thread too.

I've nursed several people with a reactive psychosis, it has a slightly different presentation to your regular psychosis and particularly the drug induced type.

First I stipulate this is not my opinion but I thought I would repeat because I have read it SO many times.

Lots of people think Jason is actually a closeted gay man. Again I don;t agree but it has been said enough times now for me to wonder if some gaydars have been working over time.

I also concur with all the comments about him having an awful lot of energy for someone suffering 'dehydration & exhaustion' - this does not mean he did not have a reactive psychosis, I am just sick of the bulldust stories that veryone keeps pumping out.

difference with reactive psychosis and your good ole regular dose of psychosis?

DS,

You do realise Jason is a christian and believes in spreading the gospel far and wide and converting as many over as possible, right?

Ive not had much time to look into all the ins and outs (besides select bits and pieces lol) Jason and invisible children also push/promote "fourth estate" youth camps, I would have to find the UK video which brought this to some of our attention

anyways a couple of other articles

anyways,
Im in the middle of watching Bart D. Ehrman Lectures, but Ive cheated... I found an hour and half presentation instead of a series of 12/13 lectures

and then I want to watch his little talk refuting The Da Vinci Book lol

Bart D. Ehrman is an American New Testament scholar, currently the James A. Gray Distinguished Professor of Religious Studies at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill

Ugh I'm procastinating, meant to be reading up on quantum physics/new sciences and connection to ecological health lol (lots of journals/papers to read through and then answer the flipping assignment question... I figure if i get some of the OTHER stuff that grabbed my attention the other day out of the way (Ehrman and co) I will end up being able to focus and put in full attention with my REAL work hahaha
