I'm A Celebrity: Double Eviction & More Intruders

I don't know a lot about Julie Goodwin, but I have at least heard of her. Freddie Flintoff is in the Tyson Mayr category for me.

Crikey. I predicted Julie Goodwin yesterday as a bit of a joke. Channel Ten do love to recycle their reality show "celebrities" though.

My disappointment is more in the fact she is bland and nice, which is lovely, but we need a firecracker
True that. Although I think I'm actually enjoying the fact that they're all getting along so nice. It's kinda... Different.

Let's have a nice seasons and have all the "villains" next year haha. Demi Hines, Kyle Sandilands, Gordon Ramsey etc.

...it sounds like Julie is going to really push herself on the show... she seems pretty determined to complete the tasks at least... cheers.

Celebrity chef Julie Goodwin was horrified when she saw Merv Hughes and Maureen McCormick chewing on earthworms, locusts and cockroaches as part of reality TV show I'm A Celebrity … Get Me Out of Here!.

As Goodwin watched the "bush tucker trial", she desperately fought the urge to throw up, not just because of how disgusting it was, but because soon she might have to eat a cockroach of her own.

On Sunday night, Julie Goodwin and cricketer turned media personality Freddie Flintoff will enter the South African jungle to compete in I'm A Celebrity … Get Me Out of Here!.

Following a double eviction and the new "intruders" induction on Sunday, Goodwin and Flintoff will join the seven remaining celebrities contestants on Monday. Once they enter the jungle, they will endure spine-tingling TV challenges to earn money for their charity of choice.

Goodwin, winner of MasterChef in 2009 and author of four cookbooks, has been watching the series with her children who "cannot wait to vote for me to eat disgusting things".

The 44-year-old food lover may have reservations about her future diet, but she's determined to overcome any obstacle she faces in this "massive adventure".

"I don't see the point in throwing yourself into something like this and then just saying, 'I'm not going to do anything yucky'," Goodwin says. "So I've challenged myself to not turn down any challenge."

Although Goodwin identifies more as a cook than a celebrity, she says, "It's quite an incredible privilege to be shacked up with [celebrity contestants] of this calibre."

The contestants may be celebrities, but Goodwin doesn't think they'll be immune to the pressure, stress and conflict so integral to the reality TV format.

"When you're stripped bare of everything, you know, we're all just people," says Goodwin. "I remember first moving into MasterChef and there were 20 of us staying in a house and that was mad. It was a mad house!"

Goodwin says her experience as a mum has equipped her with the conflict resolution skills needed to get through I'm a Celebrity … Get Me Out of Here! and help focus on raising money for her charity of choice, MND Australia.

MND Australia researches and supports the estimated 1400 Australians living with motor neurone disease, a condition in which nerve cells controlling movement, speech and breathing degenerate and die.

Goodwin is a passionate supporter of charities, having previous travelled to remote communities in Africa with Oxfam and Child Fund.

"[I'm a Celebrity … Get Me Out of Here!] is a massive adventure of course. And the fact that at the end of it we get to raise money for charity as well, that's a real bonus."

Does anyone else remember Julie Goodwin releasing a single, or have I gone totally insane?

I remember a Christmas CD. I only knew about it as my grandmother bought it.

Well I'm just glad I didn't imagine it. How very random though.

Haha don't worry Sticky, your guess was much more logical. If it wasn't for bleachy I'd have thought that I'd made the whole thing up.

Apparently it is an International sporting star who Australia loves to sledge. I can't think of anyone to be honest. Unless it is Andrew Flintoff or Kevin Pietersen the English cricketer who the Australian fans use to sledge a fair bit. They both played T/20 cricket this past Summer which was broadcast on Channel 10…...
Well I guessed 1 of them.

Oh thanks Sticky, you're always so nice! I'm really good - it's nice to be back and see everyone again, as silly as that may sound.

How are you? Weren't you getting a new grandchild soon?

...wow!... you have a good memory!... yes our grand-daughter had a healthy baby boy in late November... he was 3 months premature and was in hospital for just under 10 weeks... it was touch and go for a while... he continuously stopped breathing at times... it scared the hell out of us... he is doing really good now... a real battler... and obviously... that means that we have a great grandchild within the family now... (makes you feel old and doddery at times lol!)... thanks for asking... (do I sound like I'm beaming with pride?)... lol!... cheers.

Oh sticky! I'm so glad to hear he is a battler and you do sound like a beaming great grand daddy and deservedly so. !!
