Housemate #4 - Ben

Over and over, the 'poor little me' conversations with helpless little sighs, pyjamas, photographs and various other contrived Nanna-isms. I don't doubt that Ben is actually quite personable, interesting and with some unique takes on life etc But we'll never know because he's refusing to give anything more than this rather tiresome and limited character that he's created.

This guy is my most annoying housemate. Even more than Tully!

Guy needs to stop holding everyones hand and do things independently !

I want to see Big Brother give him a challenge, to choose what the house does for a whole day, what they eat, do and hosts it all. None of this "ohhh i dont know what to do .... " crap

The guy cant win this thing, how can someone who provides so little and does so little gather so many votes. The guy doesnt even get dressed each day! ...

Me too, I can't stand it. People all vote for him because they think he's just sooo sweet and cute. Ugh :rolleyes:

I think as much as people go, 'the teenage girl vote.' I think there's the mothers who watch it with their kids, and that's where his support is coming from. People wanting to mother him.

Totally agree! And the aww shucks is there really a prize at the end I only bought one pair off trackies and 50 pairs of pyjamas routine is fake as...
 
Yep I came here to post the exact same thing. Absolutely over his innocent act. He's masking the fact that he's afraid of conflict and any perceived 'negative-ness' with some holier than thou "I'm only here for the experience" attitude. Well good on you - so is everyone else. They just happen to be willing to butt heads to get their opinions across.

Really hope a) he's evicted soon and b) he doesn't win the 'ultimate power' on Monday. Would be completely wasted on him.
 
I don't necessarily dislike Ben but i fear he will win. I compare it to last years ben (no not cause they're both named ben or that they're both gay) in that a person who didn't deserve to win did. Benjamin from last year was bitchy and nasty and I was disappointed he won in the end since all i saw was someone who took pleasure in making others feel bad. The Ben from this year is not like that, but his behaviour in no way entitles a victory or sympathy vote. Hes dependent and kinda useless, he is overly emotional and can't stand the heat and he is playing the game big time. Using the diary room to talk down others in a subtle way while keeping up the "helpless me" act is not going unnoticed by me (and a lot of you). I guess only time will tell what lies in store for him.
 
At least 2012 Ben owned up to being a gossipy bitch though, he didn't shy away from it. He acknowledged it was part of who he is and rightly or wrongly enjoyed doing it. He was also willing to do and say outrageous things to entertain the other housemates, stick his neck out and offer his opinion.

This Ben is just a straight up bore. Doesn't even bother to get dressed and just generally is of no help to anyone. Could you imagine a house full of people like him? Would legit be the worst TV show in the history of the world.

Its just my upbringing i guess. I can't tolerate gossipy/bitchy people in anyway shape or form. Yes Ben from last year did offer a lot of entertainment but in my eyes it was all overshadowed by the fact he was simply a bitch. To me, someone who has to talk down to people and make them insecure to find joy is cutting the tolerance line pretty fine. This years Ben is shifty if you ask me! Keep an eye on him kids!
 
Just out of curiosity does Ben wear the same pjs he wears to bed all during the day? There is something not right about that. I assume he does that at home as he said its a comfort thing. Why not be a sloth in trackies..

There have been days where he wears his pjs all throughout the day (those pale blue stripped ones), but I've seen him in other clothes as well so its not a constant thing.
 
Lol I do find it amusing. A 30 year old man who didn't know how to chop vegetables, has no current employment, has never been intimate with another, refuses to change out of his pjs during the day. How on earth does he cope living alone? Somehow this guy is favourite to win big brother? Laughable.
 
I've come around to Ben. I don't find the endearing factor appealing. And perhaps it is all an act but I don't really care. He is actually quite funny. I wouldn't mind seeing him win.

That's somewhat close to how I feel. I don't find him 'endearing' at all either, but to me he's such a harmless dork with a very innocent outlook on life it's impossible for me to hate him. It would be a welcomed relief to have someone like him winning after the vile scumbag that won it last year.

He could be putting on act, who knows and I don't care. He's done his job by getting under the skins of that little yappy dog mikkayla and some of the other housemates and I've also enjoyed some of his humourous one liners and convos with Tim in particular.
 
I'm in my PJs right now. Just think of putting on my swimmers to do laps with my husband. Ben can dress as he pleases. Most of the others don't have shirts on and the girls have on as little as possible. Is this the way they would normally dress??
