I'm still lost with him. The big cry he had in the first week seemed very real ....but other things don't seem to match up. Maybe he truly is just seriously eccentric.

I thought this too! It took him no time to make a decision and he didn't seem too bothered by not being able to see her. When he went and sit in the diary room after she left, I think he was just trying to get sympathy, or otherwise that was really creepy.

Yup, his cover story for the obviously strategic Ed nomination was that one morning he'd asked for a coffee, Ed told him they were out of coffee although Ben later found out that apparently there was some coffee. This possible misunderstanding (or mistake on Ed's part) then became a Ben tale with the familiar "poor nice me" theme.
Ben's nomination story, his slip-up in snapping at Tim, calling him a "dickwad" and his quick deflection when Tim pulled him up for it, saying about the beanie/snood thing that he only wears it because "my Nannie made it for me" [to me, that beanie looked factory made and store bought but yeh..] ; this episode contained quite a few indicators that there's something a bit contrived and not-so-naïve about this bloke. The telemarketing story from last week still has me suspicious too: I can not believe that a telemarketer called him, completed the survey part then chatted socially for 20 minutes (?) all the while thinking that Ben was a woman, despite his name being Ben.
I think Tim noticedthe facade slip, and I think other Housemates will start picking up that something's not quite right with the whole Ben performance.

He is talking to those photoes all the time , that is telling mum and nanna what hes doing, WRONG all the other people cant say, " i'm going OK to whomever ' that would get them into trouble, they should stop him talking to those photoes ,

In all seriousness though pretty strange they're doing promo's for Ben. I would have assumed they thought he was pretty safe?

I just saw an ad for Melbourne to get behind their housemates and I shuddered UNTIL I saw Drew and breathed a sigh of relief
p.s - That does sound unusual about an ad to save Ben??? They are not supposed to have favourites?!

Yeah I don't think they're even promoting him in order to save him, since on the basis on the last vote he doesn't have a problem.
I am surprised they didn't call him 'adorkable' though. Opportunity lost.
Oh and when they were talking about being born in other eras and he talked about wanting to be born in the 20s so he could be with his grandma, well umm... I kinda wondered about the health of their relationship.

It's not a promo saying to save him and giving his number or anything it's just a general promo for Big Brother. Kinda somewhat reminded me how they seemed to be plugging Bradley so much in the early weeks last year, but this just seemed worse in the fact that they say 'everyone' loves him and how he's the most adorable hm ever.

I find it amazing he's so popular. I think (if people had not seen him on BB) and he sidled up next to you in a bar most would give him a wide berth.

Haha yup. and you could just see him mentally filing away the fact that, in some situations (or with the right set-up...) Ben can be caught out, revealing a nasty streak that he usually excludes from his daily 'poor nice Ben' act.
