The devastated look on Tyrion's face when Shae was telling her lies brought tears to my eyes. What a good actor Peter Dinklage is!

Oh yes, that was very moving...poor Tyrion. The whole last few minutes gave me chills...mesmerising stuff and if Peter Dinklage doesn't get an emmy for that I'll be shocked. Brilliant stuff. I also feel he was speaking from the heart and drawing on real life experiences in that scene...he's lived it for real.

Please no spoilers, but I reckon Tyrion will choose Jaime as his champion, causing trouble for both of them. Jaime's agreement with his father is now redundant, and he probably wouldn't be able to continue as Lord Commander of the Kingsguard if he does fight for Tyrion, which leaves him free to marry Brienne! Hooray!

I don't think a Kingsgaurd member would be legally allowed to fight against the Crown. Its not like he can leave without permission of the crown either. The only precedent is Barristan and he was kicked out.

Anyhoo, the other night I correctly worked out who one of the champions would be.

No, I don't deem it to be a spoiler to foreknow something in writing before it is actually screened/acted out/literally comes to pass ... in this case, I now know what Will Be even though I am yet to "see" the exact specifics of it. Just because I know what will be doesn't mean I already know exactly how it will come to be. ;-)

I must also confess I thought that particular character would align themself with whatever would cause the Lannisters the most harm ... and would hardly be the type to volunteer/risk their life on behalf of the little person.

Yeah, I forgot to take into account the element of reason-clouding revenge.

Here in the UK interestingly it's shown without the recap and preview and it's all the better for it IMO. The nature of GOT means recaps are probably quite handy but it's quite nice to actually have to think about who the characters are when they haven't been on screen for a bit and use your brain to remember where the story is at. Similarly it's nice that cliffhangers are left as just that and not spoiled by an immediate teaser of the next episode.

Interesting. They never did recaps for other HBO shows like Sopranos and the Wire, but they are quite prominent in the Australian version of Thrones. They don't really seem to have that much faith in the fan's memories. Particularly casual fans, seems like that is who its done for. Like them changing Robert to Robin and Asha to Yarra. Don't make it too confusing, put it on front street.

Poor Theon he really is screwed. I was worried for a moment they were going to show us everything when he was having his bath.

Hahaha...there we go again with our similar views, Sparrow. I detest Shae...hated her in the books and I hate her in the show. One of the most un-appealing, uncharismatic female characters I've ever come across...the exact opposite of Dany Targaryen. ;D LOL

GoT day today! It's probably a little wrong that I'm so excited about the fact lol.

Just had another thought - the trailers said that Tyrion gets help from an unexpected source.
This isn't a spoiler because I'm not up to this spot in the books yet, just speculation on my part - but I wondered if it was possible that Oberyn from Dorne would may possibly be his champion? Probably not, but that would definitely be unexpected.
