Who watched this today?

Great third episode imo, paced just right - a good old romp with a few serious bits, performances pitched right by the whole cast.

Not sure about Susan the horse though...

I just watched it too! I loved the Susan bits :) Made me giggle. This series seems to be a bit darker though, but what Amy said to him about travelling without a companion has changed him, was like the piece of the puzzle that I was missing.

All in all, still loving it, love to colour scheme & "feel" of it & glad that they are slowly weaning me off Amy & Rory.

Hi coops :)

The Susan bits were hilarious, but now we know the Doctor speaks (or at least understands) horse, god knows what he knows. And I want to know where all the animals used in space testing ended up!

Really good episode. Nice story.

Anyone else notice the Doctor Who logo in the opening titles was made out of wood? Thought that was cute :)

edit: Actually just noticed that the logo has been changing every week. Cool.

It changes every week to reflect the episode.

Not a fan of this episode. Too americanized...... Was good to see Ben Browder in the show as a Farscape fan but felt he was wasted in his role. 5/10 Seriously is this going to be the mediocre series of Who?

Good solid standalone episode. Loved it! 7.5-8/10

Quite a few funny moments like Susan, and when he said 'Keep Out signs, anachronistic electricity, unwelcome gazes.. has anyone been peaking at my Christmas list?'. Or when he was shown a victim's hat with a bullet and told the cyborg was aiming for the hat he said with outrage 'He shoots people's hats!!?' I also laughed at when he tried to flip the toothpick and it got stuck. :)

I was a little unsure about the out-of-character moments but I think they got away with it by explaining how traveling alone does this to him. What western wouldn't be complete without the Doctor holding a gun?

Not a fan of this episode. Too americanized......

They were in America, in a western genre, I don't know how they could have un-americanised it. I guess they could have had landed in some english village (again sigh) but this is a nice change. I think the fun of Dr Who is they can have wildly different episodes like this.

I'm more annoyed that we have two more episodes left until till Christmas!

What? 2 more episodes - are they doingthat weird split season thing?

I love the ABC, viewing this way is awesome, I watch twice since that's allways best

Have loved all this season so far, my head isn't exploding with weird threads/no torturing poor amy, great adventures so far.

Gosh, mediocre? Too americanised? You really can't please some people.

Yes kxk, unfortunately there are only 2 more & the xmas special, then the rest next year.

Aww, boohoo.

And I just have to say, Mat is really evolving into a lovely Doctor, he's had some great acting moments - still not sexy like DT though

peter jackson wants a go at DW

The director of The Lord Of The Rings and The Hobbit said: “I’m a huge fan, so just name the time and place and I’ll be there.”

And matt says -He said: “Let’s get Peter Jackson to direct one and go and make it in New Zealand. I would love to, I will campaign endlessly to film there.”

^^ Agreed :) It's nice to see how the companions go with "real life" between trips with the Dr. It's given me a nice insight. I was a bit freaked out by parts, I think the hospital setting & freaky kids do that to me. But what is Dr Who without a little fright?

Speaking of scarring the bejesus outta me - the preview for the next ep show the weeping angels! They have made it into my nightmares!!! They better beat them once & for all so that I can sleep again ;)

Great episode but a really crappy ending. They do a great job building up this huge mystery about the cubes, introducing a brand new enemy, and then the Doctor waves the sonic screwdriver for literally 3 seconds and they're defeated! That was a huge letdown for me.

Also it looked like they just left those abducted people to be blown up on the spaceship? I can't even remember the reason for them being taken by the aliens.

I agree coops, it was really nice seeing how the Doctor affects the Ponds real life, & vice versa. Rory's dad is also awesome.

And Will - I also agree that the ending was a letdown, it fell back on the old RTD "one third of the world die" and then "everyone lives by waving a magic wand" logic, and the "power of three" punchline was too cheesy.

I cringe a bit when I see Chris Chibnall's name on the credits, he did some pretty insipid things to Torchwood, but he did ok this time.

Just watched today on Iview...

Now great episode till the last act.

DEAR BBC

Can you please get rid of the frelling sonic screwdriver for one series? It's a crutch, a given, a McGuffin..... A deus ex machina........ Please get rid of it for one series.

Can I just say that I punched the air when it was revealed who Kate was, because I WAS RIGHT! As soon as I saw the preview last week, & had looked online & seen the character surname, I said to a friend of mine that is who she is (she was named in the books).

Kate? (you'll have to forgive me, I haven't done as much internet snooping on Dr who this year)

Will - With the people abducted, The Dr told Rory & Amy to get everyone out, we saw them wheel out Rory's dad, and then, I assumed they took everyone else through after that when The dr was talking to the hologram alone.
