I just know how teachers are trained to deal with situations, especially those they personally consider to be "unruly behaviour". She was employing what she "does" and teachers are pretty much, the ultimate bullies when it comes down to it. Her personal reaction "in the moment" in the pool was because SHE felt bullied, rather than being the teacher, along with the HOD, Dep Princ. or even Princ. going up against a kid being the bully She was on the receiving end for a change. I hope the experience gave her cause for thought. I doubt it though as she's more "self-absorbed" than a koala.. and they eat their own shit.

Sleep deprivation is psychological torment, people find it entertaining, yes me too. Big brother is based on psychologically fucking with them aka cheap entertainment/reality TV.

I dont agree with what the boys did but more than likely she didnt want the public to perceive her being over defensive, hence her reaction - the girl isnt stupid. The fact of the matter is her outburst did a little damage to some of her followers as shown in last nights thread when there was an influx of fake accounts coming through bagging her out.

So, woman is humiliated by 4 men in front of people, she reacts by taking them aside to speak about it like adults, doesn't make a fuss, doesn't bitch to others prior to it, the conversation is over once she's understood ...............yet she is then somehow the 'bully' herself?

Some proper backwards logic there mate.

I don't think it was bullying, but she was definitely ensuring that the boys felt guilty and bad about it.

And is that on?

My problem with it, is that she didn't stop at a simple "I didn't enjoy the situation in the pool" and left it at that.

No, she went into the whole "it's disrespectful", "you shouldn't have done that".

No Priya, maybe YOU don't enjoy it, but that doesn't mean it is categorically wrong to do so.

For example, if we were having a conversation, and something you said offended me for whatever reason. I can say "Hey Estelle, I know you weren't intentionally trying to hurt me, but what you said really offended me personally, and I didn't really like it". You go away thinking, "okay I should avoid saying stuff like that or that topic with Tahan".

Instead, I go "hey Estelle, what you said is extremely offensive, and you should never say that to anyone. It is morally wrong for you to be saying stuff like that, and you should feel bad about it".

What they did wasn't bad at all. I can understand the misinterpretation and that Priya could feel hurt by it. But ultimately, it's a problem she needs to deal with, not them.

Different sense of humour I guess. I thought it was even funnier than beforehand and it certainly lifted the mood of the whole situation and made it light hearted.

Travis was no more a dick than he usually is IMO.

Something though I have not seen anyone else comment on, was when Priya wanted to have a little "chitty chat" with David in the kitchen/dining over the pool incident, her clear desire to exclude the others involved in said incident from the equation, including WHOLE TIME housemate Travis. She was bitching to David about how she "felt"to be chanted at by "newbies".

Priya "fans" have been crapping on about what others in the situation did wrong and Priya is the victim: using words like misogyny and sexism and even casual racism. Priya though, is a bigot and that has been shown in spades, yet again.

It wasn't a 'misinterpretation' though, David was purposely pointing out what he perceives as a character-flaw in Priya to all the new people.

They don't know her, but he made sure they now know this potential weakness of her's. It was a major passive-aggressive move on his part against a housemate he's nommed a lot. Those new housemates will now have this in the back of their minds about her.

I fail to see how 4 dudes doing that to her is her problem, did she ask for that to happen?

The equivalent would be Priya pointing out in a 'joking' manner David's glaring social awkwardness to the new people, yet still masking it behind a 'joke'.

Can you imagine if she did that to him?
 
Travis was also a dick for bitching to Ryan about Priya after he'd apologised. He was insinuating that Priya over-reacted because they were n't "disrespecting a woman". Fucking numbskull. It was nothing to do with her being disrespected on the basis of gender.

I am a woman, "mate" and a light joke with the "defense" chanting as she IS defensive as all shit and even admitted it. Seriously, go to the Jump In site and listen back as to what happened. Her bullying relates to what she did after to cause the gym interaction to happen as it did. She was employing taught teacher BS tactics which IS bullying.

I didn't think it lifted the mood at all, I thought it was unnecessary just as it was resolved. That's just how I saw it though.

It all seems pretty orthodox to me.

It depends on how sensitive Priya is to her "defensiveness" or whether if it's even an ongoing problem. I just thought it was something that was poked fun at, for the first time. Like they said, they all thought it was a just one-off thing, and nothing to do with her character.

So yes, there is a misinterpretation. The boys did it as harmless fun, with no intention of hurt. Priya got hurt, okay, that is fine as we all perceive things differently but that does NOT make what they did wrong.

And, yeah I could probably imagine that. Just like how she called Lawson a sore loser. Jeez, she was probably being passive aggressive there. Actually, shit yeah, she probably was.

Priya only brought the fury because she was incensed at being misrepresented to the newbies. She orchestrated this whole thing so that the new boys would think she is a force to be reckoned with.

The whole affair was clearly a joke, and in typical awkward David style, it went just that little bit too far.

I get where she's coming from, but she really ran with it.
 
I really liked Priya but this episode turned me off her.

I found it incredibly soft to get so upset over something so trivial. She's a stand-up comedian and yet she can't take a bit of friendly banter? The guys clearly meant nothing by their remarks. It was a non issue. The way she reacted did nothing but reiterate David's point of her being super defensive.

The way she handled it was awful. She rounded them all up and lectured them as though they were misbehaving kids in her classroom. She didn't care for their opinion on the issue, and didn't care for their apologies, she just kept pushing the issue. In fact, Tom and Richard tried to apologise but she talked over them. Her only goal was to make 4 men look stupid and childish, while she looked strong and independent for the viewers at home. They have more respect than I, if that had been me in that situation I would've walked out on her mid-conversation. She was sprouting utter tripe.

Toms 'act' where he stuck up for David, was an act. People realize this right? He put a voice on, acted overly macho, and all his actions were exaggerated. He was clearly joking, yet Priya took offence to this and mentioned it specifically to the girls moments later. Again, she's an aspiring stand up comedian yet she can't tell the difference between someone who is being serious, and someone who is joking.

I honestly cannot fathom how people are considering this an act of bullying. Admittedly, the guys didn't judge the situation well, they should have realised Priya was taking offense, but it was hardly 'bullying'.


and quickly, David pointing out the cultural differences; he obviously meant that it's more common in Australian culture for people to rip on each other in a friendly way, than it is in other cultures. That isn't David's opinion, it's fact. He wasn't being racist, which is what a lot of people here are alluding too. Get a grip people.
