It's one of those words people butcher so much that they've just added it as a word.

If you actually looked at even the first link you'd see it was first introduced into the English language in 1798 LOLIt's one of those words people butcher so much that they've just added it as a word.

But yeah... whatever fallacies and excuses help you sleep at night!!
The struggle is real.
I know it's a word but it was contextually, incorrect. A TEACHER of English should know better.
Calm down.If you actually looked at even the first link you'd see it was first introduced into the English language in 1798 LOL

Weren't you the adolescent boy saying she got her 'degree' at a lowly 'institution'. You can't have it both ways. And you are, anyway, wrong!
No it wasn't contextually incorrect. Whatever your problem is with her, at least try to stick to the facts. It's very difficult to try to have a discussion and see someone else's point of view when people are pulling stuff from thin air.I know it's a word but it was contextually, incorrect. Huh? I'm perfectly calm. Says a lot though that that's what you respond with.Calm down.
I've never mentioned Priya using disrespectable wrong so it doesn't bother me.
I'm game enough to admit I was wrong, no need to be a dick about it.
What does it say?Huh? I'm perfectly calm. Says a lot though that that's what you respond with.
Who here remembers 'confliction'??It's one of those words people butcher so much that they've just added it as a word.

That you resort to gaslighting. What does it say?

She said "You guys know me for two days. For you to start chanting defence, defence and for Dave and Travis to join in, I think it was very disrespectable really." As in, their actions were not worthy of her respect. Which went perfectly with her other comment that she thinks it says a lot more about them than it did about her.
I said she obtained her English certification in India at somewhere similar to a TAFE here. That's what Venky's (Sri_Venkateswara_College) is: a Community College affiliated with Delhi University. It's a fact. even her official profile states such.
She is also an English Teacher, or so we are told, again, BY her official profile, so there's an expectation of her using words, contextually.
How does that make my point moot, Sparky?
What part of any of my post is "gaslighting"?That you resort to gaslighting.
What?!In that context, she should have said disrespectful as it was an action that HAD happened and she was revisiting the event, after the fact as to THEIR actions being disrespectful toward her. If she had found their actions disrespectable, she would not have bothered with the long winded lecture as that would meant they weren't worthy of her time.
So yes, it's contextually incorrect.

I already told you. What part of any of my post is "gaslighting"?
You just said with the post I responded with.I already told you.
Calm down.

You were slagging off her level of education (multiple times, earlier on, elsewhere). Her standard of education was too low for you. But now you are holding her to a higher standard. etc. Utter perfection in every well-timed syllable that slips her mouth. Hardly moot.
'there's an expectation of her using words, contextually' - that really doesn't sound right, you know. It sounds a bit wonky - but I'm sure you are spot on - perhaps it's just the syntax, the punctuation - it doesn't sit right, though. Never mind. Heat of the moment. It just came out that way. I understand.
But hell, maybe phone the education department and let them know less than perfect usage of a word may well have been made, verbally, on Big Brother, teaching standards are thus dropping, etc.
I think there's an expectation of her being a human being, more so. She's doing rather well in that department.
