Episode Day 52 (29/10/14) Daily show

With all this neighbor talk, I'm thinking that Nine might use this theme for any time the "Neighbours" drop in. Then again I'd settle for a knock off.

The pool scene with Pryia and Dave - Reverse feminism at its best.
Had the exact same set of circumstances transpired with Dave (or any other male hm) and four women in the pool, we'd all be having a completely different conversation right now.
Pryia has an amazing personality and I love her conflict resolution style, but she took the easy way out last night and played the poor girl being stood over by 4 guys card.
Out-played, out-funnied and out-classed by Dave's jokes and niggle at her insecurities and task blemish.
I'm not annoyed at Pryia, I thought she was awesome. It does however makes me furious seeing 4 grown men (especially Dave) standing around like numpties trying to absolve themselves of responsibly for an awesome joke that achieved the desired outcome.

And then Priya found a way to nulify any victory Dave might have had. I thought Richard's take was interesting - itmwas nothing, but could have grown into something (ie, the new guys thinking a certain way, long term, about Priya,) so she made it into a big thing so as to defuse it. When they actually show us the housemates, and we hear their conversations, especially from Ryan, Dave, Priya, Richard, Lina and maybe Leo, then there is actually a decent game of Big Brother going on in there.

I'm over this. Priya, STOP. I like Priya, but she has NO qualms about talking about people's flaws, she doesn't get to choose when other people do the same to her. As a comedian, she should know a joke when she sees one. They were clearly joking.
They were removing her power; and in a game like this, or in a federal penitentary, you can't let people take your power. She got her power back.

In the gym David shut up when she was talking and let her speak whike Travis etc just talked over the top. Then he spoke again when it was his turn. As much as Dave can put his foot in it sometimes he's a VERY good listener and always lets the other person have their say. I totally disagree with some people saying he looked like a complete arsehole because he didn't at all.
So many times you say what I'm thinking. And now with the added bonus of hearing it in your own voice when I read it! ;)

Despite what he said to BB Leo looked extremely pissed off to be going to the sanctuary. That combo could get interesting if they are in there long enough. Not much space to get away from each other especially Travis.
Leo could teach Trav to meditate.

I like this picture better:

Dave activates his x-ray contacts.

You can't win with you lot can you? Whatever you do in that circumstance, there is guilt. You say sorry, then you're guilty of that crime. You don't say sorry, then it's guilt without remorse.

Look David flies off the bat, sometimes he doesn't think about what he's saying. That's just who he is. If you lot are only just figuring this out now, then I suggest you start watching this series again at episode 3 or 4 to the whole Lisa's booby saga. I like David more than some of the other dim shits on the show, he is sweet at heart, but obviously has big problems expressing himself properly.

What the hell is a 'reverse feminism'?

It’s similar to reverse racism. Take the saying ‘playing the race card’ – it’s like that, but doing it unnecessarily.
It's going OUT of your way to accommodate a group of people who historically have been affected by racism. Like giving a dark skinned person a job over a group of caucasian people because you’re scared to appear bias even though they’re all ranked identically suitable for a role.
Or for reverse feminism (which I dislike the most), making it a big deal and front page headline news when a female is successful in winning the role of CEO for a major international company.
In Pryia's case, her being exceedingly upset and accentuating the situation of being ganged up on by 4 guys (in a completely non-threatening situation) is her way of using feminism to her advantage – and well played too. A bloke wouldn’t have gathered everyone and told them off like that after the event. What’s the difference that it was a female? No-one was derogatory or sexist.
