David Appreciation Thread

I haven't passed major judgements yet on the hms, but at this point I really don't mind Dave. Sure he has foot in mouth disease, and is struggling a fair bit socially. But he hasn't said anything or hasn't done anything heinous. And I do agree with a previous poster with the Estelle comparison. They aren't the same in nature, but you can feel other hms targeting him in much the same way Estelle was targeted. The pathetic overblown complaints about Dave are puzzling. It seems he can do no right, and he knows it, just as Estelle could do no right. He has become the easy target, imo.

Haha yeah

I think he has something against girls and farting.

Because the first time was yesterday's eps, where in response to Dion about you can't say so and so to a lady, David responds "a lady doesn't sit all day and fart".

But that shit with Lisa was gross though. I have a really big thing about not wanting people to fart in my face. Twice in my life I've had friends who, uh, find that shit funny, and basically told them to get fucked if they ever approach me with that shit.
it's possible that Lisa farting in his face annoyed him and was still on his mind when Sandra was farting around him all day as well...unless Sandra told Lisa about David's comment, so she farted in his face, although when nominating, it appeared that Sandra didn't like her doing it either.
some people never fart in front of their partner/friends/family out of respect, and some let it rip and give them a dutch oven etc

Vote to save SLAYVID and Sandrama

I expect Dave will go first. Foot and mouth disease is more tolerable when you can get away from the person, with this all too common condition. I would imagine being around him is quite insufferable. However, I needed more context with the Aisha stuff. I would not have gotten offended by what he said, same for Lawson. Yeah, it was annoying, but not offensive. But, that is just it. In a house you can't escape, annoying is more than enough. Dave turned me off when he went in on Gemma. I'm no Gemma fan, but once again, I felt like it was his way of trying to be in with the cool kids by ragging on her. It was also a way for him to deflect what the house felt about him. For that, I'm a bit off him right now. It is a shame he has a partner that will talk about him poorly to anyone who will listen.

United We Stand, Divided We Fall
This year's first Eviction hit-list has been revealed and with half the Housemates Nominated, it's the most united Pairs who have weathered the Nominations storm.

Nominated Pair partners Sandra and David have come to blows on numerous occasions, and in many respects it’s been Sandra’s complaining about David that has resulted in some other Housemates looking at him unfavourably.

I hope David and Sandra can turn it around this week and support each other, so people are willing to vote to save them

Pffffft!!

The closest thing to Estelle this year is Gemma. Apparently. We don't actually get to see Gemma, we just get to hear everyone complaining about how she doesn't fit in and is annoying.

David on the other hand is an offensive tool. I can't believe this is the same dude who went on and on in his video package about how he gets on well with women. He's a douche. I have trouble believing he has many female friends at all, what with all his shit about girls farting and not being "lady like". Where's your fedora mate???

Growing up (and hell he still does it now if he gets to he chance) David was always giving my sister and I hypothetical scenarios where neither outcome was ideal. His fave was asking us which of our 2 dogs we would save if there was a fire and we could only save one.
If you actual stop and think about what he is asking you it's actually a very clever way of working out how you think. I have done numerous tests for jobs over the years where they give you 2 scenarios and ask you to pick the right one and justify it. Thing is there is no right and wrong, it's about being able to justify your answer and stand by it when questioned. Asking Aisha to pick between her mum and dad could very well have given David an insight into wether she was a mummy's girl or a daddy girl. That would then allow him some insight in how best to get to know her.
I think BB was a bit easy on Aisha for allowing the fact that that question upset her and that's why she was voting for him.

Hopefully you will all vote to save David and Sandra otherwise we will have no entertainment next week!

Asking someone about their family might be a more clever way. This way seems to assume everyone is in a happy family and has both parents, for starters. Maybe it's a fun game in your household. It's a horrible inept question to be posing on TV.

We've all played "would you rather." Your choices are never supposed to be good ones. For me, it showed her age completely. I think some people had genuine reasons to be mad at him, but then some others are just doing what's popular. I thought her reaction didn't fit his question at all. But, I personally don't think he was asking to gain any insight, I think it was just a question. I do agree that BB let her and a few others get away with very lame reasons for voting. He always calls someone out and then takes lame reasons. It annoys me every time. I know you want him to stay, but I still think he's gone. I think the housemates are still in that place where they want a fun house and they aren't thinking too strategically yet.

Well, we don't know what Aisha's family situation is like. For all we know, David does actually know.

It was just a hypothetical question. He didn't ask her to stab one of them while they were sleeping.
Appropriate response would have been to tell him you could never choose. Her response was ridiculous in my opinion.
People sure blow shit up to be more than it is sometimes gees.

Being away from your family without the means to check in with them or know how they are, a question like that might trouble or affect people. We might not know what Aisha's family situation is, but we know her partner Lawson's Mum passed away, so there are people in the house for whom a sensitivity about this question is completely justified without accusations of melodrama.

Oh come on, I think we're getting a little precious now.

FFS, we have no LF, and a get a highly condensed version of what they talk about each day. For all we know Aisha has spoken positively about both of her parents to David and he's fully aware they're both in her life. Just because we don't know that information doesn't mean he doesn't either.

David is my new favourite housemate. All those whiny bitches moaning about him (tactically?) have only put the spotlight on him and his loveable oddball ways. Unfortunately, since the hms get the final say on who goes he won't be around for long. He'll probably survive this week though. Gemma is a goner, thank fuck.
