That's true but... FB also has put up this:
Sandra's beard fear?
![]()
And you know how some love the idea of a romance happening in the house so this might actually work in their favour if the comments are anything to go by.
I don't actually think Sandra is repulsed by him at all but more feels the need to pretend like she is because she knows how loathed he is by a lot of the others. I say that because she was very open to him at the start but only started acting like a surly arsehole to him when the others all started bitching at/about him. Funny thing is though although she may lose the acceptance of a few of the "cool kids" she'd gain a hell of a lot of support from the public if she was nice to him. I mean look at Jake. I didn't like him at the start because of the whole "Tim's HM" business, but now I'm really starting to respect him for the way he hasn't let Gemma's unpopularity affect his relationship with her. Stark contrast to Sandra who's decided to go down the "poor me" route.
Sooner or later I'm hoping the penny will drop for her when she sees that the pairings that are doing well and don't have issues (Dion & Jason and Lawson & Aisha) are the ones that genuinely seem to support one another and she'll follow suit. She seemed like such an awesome chick at the start when she was all positive vibes. I'd like to see that again. I honestly don't think it's David that's causing her so much anguish but the other HMs' responses to him.

You've misunderstood Travis.I think it was more that Travis stood up as though he were some king of the house when addressing David and then outside said how he wouldn't change to please anyone but then turns around and says David should to please the girls. And how the other HMs wouldn't even look him in the eye when he was talking but were quick to interrupt him anyway. One of the main differences I've noticed since moving here - and one I love - is how quick Aussies are to call out bullshit and rally around the underdog. I had suspected that Travis would have the teen girl support but that's not the case. I honestly wouldn't be surprised if him and Cat were the least saved this week.
What he said was "I won't change the way I am, just because of other people's insecurities".
The way I interpreted that is, I won't change the way I behave, just because you seem to think we're ostricising you. Which is why I'm bringing up the mixed intentions by David, because initially I thought the idea was for him to hear feedback about how he is, but at the end, judging by what Travis has said, it seems more like David is telling them what they've done that has aggrieved him I suppose.
On a quick tangent, I'm actually a big fan of Travis. I think he's probably my favourite male housemate. I honestly don't get why people don't like him, and people who don't like him can never explain why. I think the reason is just the way he presents himself, the way he talks, the way he dresses. I personally don't mind it, but then again, I'm a young male, we're probably similar in the way we act.
And quickly, because this pisses me off so much, people say they don't like Travis because he's stupid or dumb. I agree, he's not very academically smart. But who cares? I honestly don't see how that is a character trait of someone that people seem to think it's "okay" to dislike someone because of it. It makes no sense. I find being mean or nasty is more of a trait to dislike. And so far, we haven't really seen anything mean about Travis at all. Gemma on the other hand...

Sandra seems to be very insecure. And because of this, she seems to be very easily brainwashed, I suppose. But I can sort of get it. If you've got 12 different people, yapping to you all day about how annoying David is, soon, you're gonna start bloody believing it!
I've seen a few mention the "cool kids". I don't get it. Who are they? I haven't seen any cliquey groups, not like last season.

Sandra and David Say "I Love You"
WARNING: CONTAINS EXTREME AWKWARDNESS! It was one helluva bumpy road, but Pair David and Sandra have gone from bickering to declarations of love.
“You guys need to work on your non-bickering,” Sam advised Pair partners David & Sandra on Day 11. “When are we commencing Operation Be-Nice?” he asked. Sandra and David vowed to start being nicer to one another immediately.
But when David went to seal the deal with a kiss, Sandra pulled away with a grimace. “You can kiss me, but not with your beard,” she told him. So they settled on a handshake.
Shortly after, a deflated David paid a visit to the love doctor upstairs for his professional advice on how to patch things up with Sandra. “When I come up here, I think it’s a genuine issue, and I need some advice,” he confessed to Big Brother. “I think Sandra and I need marriage counselling.”
“I think she’s seeing somebody else,” David revealed. “I think she’s having erotic dreams about other Housemates; we sleep in separate beds; communication is pretty poor between us at times; and there’s absolutely no hanky-panky. So I’m thinking that’s pretty much a marriage.”
As with all good couples counselling, Sandra also received the opportunity to talk through her partnership problems with Big Brother.
“I do feel some sort of resentment towards Dave; especially being put up for Nomination and potentially going home because of things that he’s said and done,” she explained. “Which in turn makes me feel really guilty and bad because he’s my friend, and I feel like I’m being disloyal to him.”
Later that evening, the Pair’s marriage was really put to the test during the semi-final of The Perfect Pairs Task. ‘The Last Stand’ challenge presented the ultimate test of endurance: how long could Sandra & David stand as one without killing one another?
The Pair looked every inch the happily married couple with their first position on the pillar; however Sandra wasn’t feeling it. Or er… there was just too much feeling.
Position two was slightly less awkward. Slightly. Until…
The beard! All of the beard.
The bickering started almost immediately. “Don’t lean!” David instructed. “I’m not doing anything!” Sandra protested. She couldn’t get further away from David if she tried. “Is my breath bad or something?” he asked. “No, my neck really hurts,” Sandra replied dryly.
Cue awkward massage.
After 90mins, Sandra admitted her “competitive instincts” had kicked in. “I love you now. You are so hot to me right now,” David said. Sandra’s face said it all.
“Please Lord, give me the strength I need to stay on this totem pole,” she prayed. “More for Dave’s sake rather than mine, as I know Dave wants this more than I do.” David interrupted her prayer. “Sorry God, Dave’s being rude,” Sandra apologised for the interruption.
After more than four hours on the pole, a freezing Sandra called it quits. “You’re going to hate me aren’t you…” she said to David. “I’m not going to hate you; promise,” he replied with a kiss on the cheek.
Despite dashing their one-in-four chance at the $30,000 Perfect Pairs prize money, David harboured no resentment towards his Pair partner. “I’m seriously very proud of you,” he told her. “We’re a team, we did it as a team, we rode it out together, we stepped down together, it’s all good.”
“I love you,” David whispered. “I love you too,” Sandra replied.
“That was really good for us,” Sandra said of ‘The Last Stand’ challenge. “We’re repairing our marriage day by day.”
And not even 14 Nominations points could wipe the smile off David’s beardy little face.

I certainly think you're right about the insecurity thing, and I think it's causing her to prioritise wanting to be accepted by those around her at the moment (the HMs) rather than using her brain and thinking about what would make her accepted by the audience. That's something Tim Dormer did really well last year. He alienated himself with a lot of the HMs but it warmed him to the audience.
I see the main "cool kids" or leaders of the group as Lisa, Katie, Travis and Ryan. Lisa herself has said something along the lines of feeling like her position in the group was safe. When you start commenting on who is and isn't part of the group it's also a pretty good sign you see yourself as someone with clout IMO.

Problem is that Dave's increase in popularity has coincided with Sandra's dropping and they're a package deal. I'm happy to vote for them both but if it keeps David safe.
if they are the pair with the lowest public votes, it's possible after Sandra throwing the challenge for the $30k that the HM's might choose David to stay now instead of Sandra? if they are disappointed in her?
I think the way David has handled the response from the house, has been amazing. He hasn't shown weakness, hasn't shown defeat, hasn't shown resentment. It's a tough gig for him being surrounded by people who will now hold every word he says now against him, but he is still standing and trying. He is a strong player, and I hope these hms keep underestimating him to only realize he was a contender to begin with

Tim and Sandra are 2 completely different people 2 completely different agendas.I certainly think you're right about the insecurity thing, and I think it's causing her to prioritise wanting to be accepted by those around her at the moment (the HMs) rather than using her brain and thinking about what would make her accepted by the audience. And that's the reason why I'd hate to be paired with Sandra, and why I dislike her right now.
Sandra is clearly in the house purely to "have some fun". The problem with that is, mate, BB isn't a bloody holiday. If you want a holiday, go to dreamworld, it's right around the corner!
And it's why I was pissed at her just giving up on the challenge. Okay, you don't think money is that important. But for me, I like to be challenged, and I like to overcome, or at least, try to overcome them. I wouldn't just "ah fuck it, I'm cold, I wanna be in the spa right now, super ceebs". Argh, it just grates on my nerves thinking about it.
I think Sandra will easily just succumb to doing whatever makes her time better in the house, even if it means just doing whatever everyone else is doing, only because she doesn't have the cajones to stand up and be a little uncomfortable.

In an environment like that, where you don't feel accepted, it's very easily to be break down mentally. Even
I think he's taking it really well. It's easy for people to just go "David, just be yourself" but the self doubt must be immense. Although, I think tonight, he's cracked a little bit.
Oh no, I definitely don't want any romance to happen there but if it helps to bring some votes their way this week then I'm all for it.Don't want romance getting in the way.
Would love though for Sandra to get him more so they can gave some fun, stirring banter.
Tbh one of my best friends I hated first up till I saw who they were and appreciated their humour so I hope Dave has time to grow on people.
For me he's been the one I want most to stay at this point in time.
I was posting what was said about Travis on Facebook and Twitter. I think his intention was to hear feedback and part of that is to also try to explain where you were coming from in the first place but people started jumping on him when they weren't avoiding eye contact at the table. Which again goes back to the editing because for all we know that conversation was a lot longer than what we saw tonight. You've misunderstood Travis.
What he said was "I won't change the way I am, just because of other people's insecurities".

And it's cool you're a fan of Travis. I'm not and I've explained why several times but I have no problem that you or anyone else may be. I saw the other day that someone had started an appreciation thread for him so I simply swerved. I have a pretty low tolerance for people who act as though they know it all and try to portray themselves as an Alpha male when their mouth reveals they have little intelligence. That doesn't mean I think he kills puppies or is even a bad person because I only know what they show us but I do know that he's not someone I'd want to see on my tv every night for the next 2 months. It always just comes down to personal preference and who we feel a connection to or derive entertainment from in the house and if he's yours, then that's cool!

I know she and Tim have different agendas. I was just using him as an example to point out how doing whatever is easier to make the other HMs like them isn't always what will warm them to the public. I dislike Sandra an awful lot at the moment (especially after quitting the challenge but I was off her before that) and I think she's really stupid if she can't work out that being nicer to her partner would help her in the eyes of the public. Even if she's just there for the experience and doesn't want to win she'll want to stay as long as she can and that won't happen unless she has a quick change in strategy.

I don't like it

Yes, but she's damned if she does and damned if she doesn't. Some people will then hate on her for not 'being herself'. Because, of course, we all know the person they really are!
Yeah, I completely agree.

you think so?
I'm pleased he is trying to make an effort with all the hms and trying to stay involved with them. He isn't hiding and making himself a recluse which can easily be done.
btw, Tahan (you) is perfect in every way, she didn't crack, she vented and released

I hated how people were calling her a bully, just because she called one of the Sisters stupid, when what resulted was actual bullying. I really felt bad for her, because if I remember correctly, a lot of people had their own groups like Drew, Tully and Tim, Ed and Matt, then there was Sisters, Jade, Mikkayla who were intentionally potting her at every moment.
And she just kept going and going, and not giving in, not making a big fuss about it etc. That was probably the moment I jumped on board the Tahan bandwagon. I remember feeling really bad when she started crying in the diary room, and remember her saying "I just don't want to show them that they're affecting me".
Fuck them. Go Tahan!
Those mods on the FB page are such wankers. I posted that pic of David without his beard under a pic "she loves him, she loves him not" and I kept getting all these notifications so I went to look and it had over 50 likes in 15 minutes and several comments already which is pretty good for 11pm. I just went back to check again and they've deleted it. Seriously they're a joke.

Ha! They mustn't want to ruin the ratings for the beard cutting episode.

Good to see they've put the LF updaters out of work but crazy dictator mods that trawl the official FB page are still alive and kicking.
I got over their shit last year with all their biased crap they've got going on over there.

you know I thought you were the real tahan for a moment when I first saw you post, I swear ask, @Veronica2005 lol.
I was a fan of T when she stopped tully and told her she was doing what she is complaining about mikkayla of doing and that was interrupting when they talk. She became my favourite when I realized she didn't need a support team to survive and fight back in the house. That girl was fierce, had bite, and overall had every quality I loved about a woman. I called her the wild flower that could not be tamed... so you can imagine my disappointment when I realized you were not really her hahaha.
Sorry guys, I'll get us back on topic... I wonder why they don't want pics of David on fb. Like seriously whats the big deal?
