David Appreciation Thread

I am feeling really sorry for David, and hope he gets a chance to show other aspects of himself. I think he fucked up, trying to fit in, and then got all prickly and defensive and didn't handle the apology scenario at all well. I would hate for him to be evicted first with this as his epitaph, as it were.

I hate that we are just seeing tiny snippets of some housemates and then these protracted set-ups by producers, and a few key housemates and these awful 'story arcs'.

what is with that big white space?

I didn't like his conversation with Sam in the spa.

Yeah, you might be older, and sure, it could be hard to have deep and intellectual conversations, but I think it's an absolute cop out to blame your age.

In any social situation, or even in a workplace where you are constantly meeting people, and particularly Big Brother, you need to be adaptable to almost any situation.

Going into the house, you would know you'd be meeting people from all aspects of life, from different age groups and different maturity levels.

There's no point bitching about how you can't get along, because that mindset in itself makes you quite stand off-ish.

Instead, with blokes like Travis and Ryan, switch your mind off and just have a bit of tomfoolery while with Sam you can have those meaningful conversations.

I think Sam does this the best.

I think David is a pretty bland person and he grew out his beard to stand out more because he isn't the most social person. This is not saying i don't like him its just what iv picked up so far.

David obviously told a little white lie to please Lisa at the time while she was bouncing up and down with her saggy tits (as David would have been thinking) . Obviously he had to do some back pedalling when he said he likes Lisa's physique, then upper body, then lastly he corrected himself for the 3rd time and said midriff.

Everyone talks behind people's backs, his 'hang down low' comment was not meant for anyone but the boys' ears. Travis and one another also agreed to his statement and said they were saggy. Lisa is not pissed at them because they are in the 'cool group'. David has come away the better person in my eyes....Lisa is really horrible, least favourite housemate after this and I feel sorry for Skye!

And in regards to his beard, arent we all used to the hipsters this day and age? Everyone in Sydney is walking around with these beards! He looks really attractive without the beard in a pic I saw of him though, so I'd love to see it shaved off!!

Liked him a lot more this episode.

I suppose he could be annoying, although BB didn't really show any footage of it. I think he's just a little socially inept.

But glad he said he wouldn't change when confronted by Sandra.

Don't think he was in the wrong about the cleaning comments, he said it with good intentions, but don't think Sandra is in the wrong either.

Felt sorry for him because Sandra's tears potted him as the bad guy, in which he wasn't. Also felt sorry because he clearly felt like shit afterwards.

I went from liking him on launch, to starting to dislike him during the last episode, and now I have a new appreciation for him after tonight's episode. I felt like he was quite a vanilla housemate before tonight, but he's breaking out a bit more and becoming one of the more interesting ones now. He's tactless, and oftentimes comes across as rude, but I'm finding he actually makes sense more often than not. I hope he stays for a while... wouldn't want these housemates getting too comfortable.

Plus, I've always liked the beard on him...

Wonder if his favorite band are The Beards? Like David feel he is being targeted as a villein but he seems to be unaware of others sensibilities. So people are at different levels in their life's journey. Sandra is a country girl living with her parents and perhaps had less exposure to more outward characters like him. Like his beard I think he will grow on me as the season continues

As a viewer I have a problem. I really dislike him as a person. His interactions are basically him being a bit of an pissed off twat who blames everyone else. Who can't see beyond himself. Can't deal with people in a group of people. It's all about him. He upsets someone, he consoles them by talking about how much it has affected him.

I dislike him, but this is why I watch BB.

Now i feel bad for him, hes like that geeky kid who tries to make jokes to fit in with the cool kids but they shun him, its painful poor dude.

Holy shit I just realised. David could be the next Estelle.
Mind. Blown.
nah, estelle cared, wanted to fit in, while david knows more people dislike him than like him, and he doesnt give a shit. hehehehe, so he is not going to provide satisfaction for his haters in the house, unlike estelle

He seems to be really socially inept. I almost feel bad for him. He really is socially awkward. Perhaps hurting Sandra will wake him up, because I think he was genuinely torn up about it. We all know someone who speaks before they think, and that's Dave. I don't know what I think of him, because he seems pretty alright when he's not talking out his arse. Ps, I thought Sandra blew the cleaning thing way out of proportion. Still don't get what the issue was there.
