BBUK 2024: Returns Oct. 6th

I had to catch up on this week's episodes in two long binges, and I watched most of them after eating edibles so I feel like I have so many different narratives confused. But tbh I am really liking how this cast responds to each other. Lots of different POVs in politics both inside and outsode of the house. I love it. It feels so old school to me, but I just can't help but get a bit dissinterested at some points knowing the show is halfway done next week.

Regarding Ali vs Khaled, whilst I can understand where Ali was coming from I do understand also what Khaled was saying and I did kind of side with him in the argument despite the fact that I love Ali and am not his biggest fan. She was way too focused on him stating that he did the killer nomination the fairest way, which he did. It's totally valid and makes complete sense for him to nominate based on who he is closest with, it would be how I would go about nominating. I feel like she just really did hyperfixate on this idea of him. And like he said, he isn't as well articulated as she is. IDK why she felt the need to keep having the conversation with him when it was going to go NOWHERE.

I did like the Government task, it felt like a bit more of an improvment on last year's big wigs task. I fkn died at the government housemates dressing up as former British PMs.

With Bagelgate, I don't think my brain actually clicked onto what actually happened there. But Izzaz annoyed me this week and seemed to just casuse drama so he could get airtime. I still feel a lot of the males this season are extremely bland or too blokish.

And a shoutout to Lily who feels so 2000s BBUK it really makes me sad that this season is so short. I feel like this cast would be perfect for a long series. I'm getting BB7 vibes from it tbh. It's just a shame the storylines that have began to really grow in significnace are already nearing their conclusion due to the rapid evicting that is approaching.

Really not liking khalid and segs just find them boring. Baked potato just laughs at everything and when in conversation she just sits on the fence. hope they are all up this week.
Izaaz and Khaled will be up for sure and Sarah/Lily/Segun are in the mix too. All the others will be safe I'm pretty sure

Confirmed tonight each pair will nominate another pair. Not confirmed if the pairs would then be evicted together - sadly suspect producers are waiting for the nominations to decide that.

The HoH's were Dean and Ali, who then had to choose the pairs. They initially decided to split up HMs so friends were with foes, though then decided Marcello was likely to go and paired him with Khaled who they want out too. What they didn't factor in though is the way they've paired the others up means most pairs have someone in who would never nominate Marcello or Khaled.

Pair 1: Hanah and Lily
Pair 2: Marcello and Khaled
Pair 3: Nathan and Izaaz
Pair 4: Martha and Segun
Pair 5: Sarah and Baked Potato
Pair 6: Emma and Thomas

I would say Izaaz and Nathan will pick up the most votes - Izaaz really isn't liked by most the house (the boys especially) and Nathan is a fairly easy sacrificed and could see Pair 1, 2 and 4 nominating them. Izaaz and Nathan the only ones who might nominated Marcello and Khaled as Izaaz does not like Khaled at all and Marcello is probably Nathan's main rival for Baked Potatos affections. 5 & 6 won't nominate Nathan and I don't think Sarah would nominate Marcello or Thomas nominated Khaled, so Lily (who Emma hates) might be the easy target that would see Hanah and Lily up.

Hopefully they do evict in pairs as really only Hanah going as a result of Lily would feel a bit unjust.

Been confirmed on Late & Live that the HoH's will get the same option as last week despite having already had the power to create the pairs. Basically takes all the jeopardy out of nominations now as we know one way or another Khaled and Marcelo will be up.

The choices are poor too as they're essentially the same and both involve nominating. Might be better if it was just to Save or Nominate so they do have to weigh up whether not saving a nominee in order to nominate someone they want out is worth it.

Confirmed on the live stream that Ali and Dean chose to
Save Lily and Hannah and replaced them with another team, most likely Marcello and Khaled

Guessing it will be
Marcello and Khaled + Nathan and Izaaz
up for eviction this week. Hopefully it's just a single and not a double.

You can almost hear the producers swearing as that went out on the live feeds, since you just know they would've wanted to keep it secret until the next episode airs.

It needs to be a double to move the show on. Izaaz and Nathan going would be ideal.
But you just know that Marcello and Khaled will go if they are up because some of the audience does not like his sexualisation of the female contestants and his constant sex talk. Don't think Khaled deserves to go.

Anyway if last night's live stream is anything to go by, Ali has turned pretty much the whole house against her apart from Lily and Dean with her behaviour towards a certain housemate. She is 100% going to be up again next week unless she gets HOH again somehow.

Yes, pretty certain they'll go unless there is enough of a backlash against Ali to try and ruin her plan, but with three pairs rather than two that'll be difficult. Sadly also think producers will back out of us evicting in pairs and just do an eviction of one person instead.

Not a fan of them also getting the same powers as last week on top of choosing the pairs, mainly as I think the Save & Replace and Killer Nomination powers are too similar. I think if they made the first one just a Save, so the HoH could either save a nominee or add a nominee, it would work better.

Izazz should be the one to go. He’s just moping around and adding absolutely nothing. Even his sad attempt at shit stirring was lackluster!
I am loving all the Ali drama though, what a fantastic housemate she is. I don’t necessarily agree with what she says but I could watch her say it all day 😂

Definitely will be between Marcello and him. I do agree he should be the one to go as he doesn't even want to be there and I don't think we will see much more out of him but certain demographics are so fixated on getting Marcello out because of the way he speaks about women.

Agree. Izazz is BORING. Ali is a fantastic housemate, one of the better housemates from the modern versions of BB. I really love this cast (not so much as individuals but rather the dynamic). I do not agree at all with Ali and her extreme hyperfixation with villainising Kahled, but its really entertaining. I don't like Kahled tho, but I do think she's being extremely harsh on him and her tunnel visioned perception of him is only going to continue to make her look worse.

I honestly would rather Marcello stay, for the pure drama and nothing else. He at least is a character that you can discuss, and the same cannot be said for a lot of the males on this cast.

I'm rooting for Ali or Lily to win. Is there another housemate ranker tool like there was last year? Lol that was fun.

Random bunch of thoughts:
  • I like Izaaz as a person and I like his personality, but he is incompatible with being on Big Brother. For us and for him - he's obviously starting to hate it because he hates drama, the other HMs are hating on him for trying to be neutral, and for the viewers it's just boring.

  • Wouldn't mind some shirtless Izaaz footage before he gets evicted though 🤭 if the Facebook mums are going to thirst on Khaled then I can thirst too.

  • Ali is providing the quality housemate goods, whether she's cracking jokes, being lovable and then minutes later causing drama.

  • I actually agree with almost everything Ali says. But there have been times where if I was in her place I would have just let it go for the sake of saving energy from another confrontation.

  • There are many double standards happening against Ali though. The words "bully" and "villainising" are being thrown around. Even if you don't like her, she isn't bullying or hyper-fixating. Her last two confrontations were men approaching her, demanding apologies for things that were quite unreasonable on their part and then them getting shitty when she declined.

  • The rest of the house is frequently asked to stroke the fragile egos of Khaled, Marcello and to a lesser extent, Segun. There are times, like this latest episode, where if the ego stroking doesn't happen on demand as requested, conflict kicks right off. Even though Ali amplified the latest conflict up more than it needed to be, I was still astonished that Khaled was once again giving his "I'm just trying to be a nice guy" speech in the bedroom. This time so obviously looking around to illicit responses from other housemates while they avoided eye contact with him. The boy needs constant validation and I'm tired of it.

  • If you don't agree with me on that last point - watch for the next conflict in the house. It's highly likely the source of the conflict will be due to a male housemate being told to reflect on their actions, or they feel emotionally uncomfortable because they're reminded they're not universally liked.

  • "38 year old woman vs. 23 year old boy" is another double standard when we have Emma talking about how she wants to physically gag Lily.

  • Social media is getting real toxic. People are posting things like "I heard Ali is a Zionist and that's why she's going after Khaled". Which, I will just point out for clarity there is no evidence of this and reads more like a classic misog witch hunt.
