BBUK 2024: Returns Oct. 6th

There’s far too many boring characters this series that are going to coast their way through. Thomas for example, he’s contributed absolutely nothing.

Hanah is turning into a great housemate. Ali I do like her but I feel she’s going to get evicted at the earliest chance.

Yes, really loving Hanah. Gone off Ali big time this week but that is actually making her an even better housemate. If she was eligible to go this week she'd undoubtedly go but the reasons people have to evict her this week would also be the reasons people vote for her to win at the end. If she can survive next week I could see her making the final and grabbing a top two place.

Izzaz is odd as he's not getting in the edit at all and they only threw a couple of things last night in because they were coming up in the nominations. The 5 hour live feed block on Saturday was pretty much all about Izaaz - he thought he'd caused a lot of drama in the house that day (so much not a second of it made the highlights) and there were two or three groups talking about him most of the evening as Izaaz spent most of the evening alone doing his ironing. Emma actually was having a good old bitch in the garden with Nathan and Baked Potato I think but then went and had a chat with Izaaz which kind of really explained how Izaaz was feeling. We also know that Izaaz and Nathan supposedly hate each other but have absolutely no idea why as that hasn't even been touched upon in the show.

Personally I'd rather see Nathan go as I'm already sick of how obsessed producers are with him and Baked Potato and I think this showmance is really damaging her chances of winning.

Ultimately though the show still suffers from putting 16 people in there for just a 6 week series. If Segun, Thomas and Martha weren't in there I don't think the show would be any different.

Oh I forgot about Emma being a middle aged “Pick me”! Didn’t she say to Marchello that if Sarah didn’t like his comment she shouldn’t have been twerking like that around him? Or something similar.
She’s straight to the boys to back them about Ali behind her back too.
Her constant whispers about Lilly without actually confronting her is annoying me also, but she’s managing to fly under the radar really well.

One last thing, sorry it’s the ADHD stream of consciousness thing, I would love to see Hannah and Ali in a head to head stoush! Literally makes me salivate 😂 I think Hannah is a lot more intelligent than she’s letting on and for sheer savagery I think she’s come out on top.

Great episode tonight. I don't like BB revealing private conversations to the house and personally wouldn't even consider the Ali comments a rule break but it set up a great episode with a surprising twist at the end. Marcello was having a pretty decent episode stsaying out of the drama until ITV added 15 minutes at the end.

Small but they make the space work, though personally I'd give over the entire space to the garden and move the eviction set indoors - they've more than enough room on the Late & Live sound stage.

They've likely made the entire area small on purpose to avoid the issues they had towards the end of the C5-era where they literally had to grab people of the street and ask them to come watch the show and be in the audience so that it didn't look completely empty. They then started reducing the lighting on the crowd to hide it as well. Though you could still tell quite easily how empty it was.

When they do the drone shots at the evictions nowadays, you can see the crowd is never as big as it appears on TV and they move them around based on what camera angles they know they're using in that segment of the show to create the illusion of a massive crowd.

Here's the audience from eviction #1 this year:

It works well enough though - manage a crowd right and 100 people can create as much atmosphere as 1000.

It's so bizzare to me to see there not being a lot of people in the crowd after going last year. When I went to week 2's eviction show last year it felt like there was hardly any room in the crowd and we were all squished together. There is no where near the same amount of people in that pic as there was when I went.

But even when we were all walked over to the stage the first thing I thought when I saw the stage was how small it really is.

Why is no one watching BBUK live?

I actually find this pic more interesting. The stage is *right there*. And so small.

Did my post get moved? Pretty sure I posted this in the House speculation thread but perhaps should have provided background on why lol.

As for the stage being so small I’m not really that bothered by it. It looks decent enough on screen and it’s not as if they’re going to pull in the massive crowds they did in the prime years anyways. I do have an issue it’s the fact that it’s taken away from the garden. Would have preferred shifting the bulk of the live audience in to the BBLL studios and had a much more intimate FOTH.

Now for why I intended it to be posted in the house speculation thread was more to show that there’s probably a lot more benefit using a sound stage over a custom built house these days. That said in combination with the overhead pic the downside is they’d likely be working with space constraints outdoors.

I assumed you'd posted it in the wrong thread Kingston. Sorry if you didn't.

For context the height is the same as the Canada sound stage at 35ft (probably an industry standard). The UK sound stage is 23k sq ft vs 35k for Canada (including their backyard) and 15k for the US (including studio and production). The second Iris Stage which hosts the Late & Live studio and gallery is 11k.

It was moved in error but no big deal.

The soundstage may be the same height but it looks like the Iris Stage has significantly more floor space than BBCAN had in any of the studios the two floor layout was built in. I remember the designer specifically mentioning space limitations was what necessitated the need for two floors. The Iris stage looks like they could have built the BBCAN house complete with the indoor backyard and still had space for a separate competition arena.

And it's far better to choose a site where you would have room to expand than use every corner of it just for the main house. BBUSA has suffered at times from not having any extra space to play with.

Normally I don't like tasks taking up the whole episode but glad this one did because we needed a break from the shit vibe in the house and Ali pretending she's ok.

Not sure what you're all seeing in Hanah. The false confidence is coming across as tragic. Even Lily read her and the boys to shreds in the diary room.
