BBUK 2024: Returns Oct. 6th

😬

Quite the blunder.

The edit is a bit hilariously bad though.

The blunder is reacting to the complaint. Ridiculous censorship.
Meh. It’s not that uncommon for companies to try maintain a neutral/non-existent stance on things like this that it’s not surprising that it happened.

ITV's stance is anything but neutral though and funnily enough by doing this they have brought even more attention to what Ali was wearing.

I am sure the majority of viewers did not even notice the shirt when watching the first time, I know I didn't.

I had absolutely no idea until it was brought up on social media

It has gotten to the point where I can't stand Lily any longer and I now think all her antics are for the cameras. I have started fast forwarding the majority of her scenes, especially when she starts screaming out of the blue for no reason.

Also with the way she acted regarding the food in today's episode, I don't know how none of the housemates have lost it with her.

Don't understand how she's the favourite to win and I pray she doesn't.

Yes, I disagree with the bookies but think based on the history of the show if she did make the final, which I find doubtful, she would end up in 4th or 5th - especially this year where it's the more thoughtful intelligent HMs who are resonating with the audience.

I do really like how Lily is actually switched on to the game and for game decisions she is quite tactical- but 24/7 she is clueless how to avoid other HMs nominating her and she was particularly vile in last nights episode.

Seems ITV have now gone into attack mode with copyright strikes on clips, which do much more for promotion than the single clip a day released officially.

They've lost the fans in just 48 hours, and we've seen many times before what happens when broadcasters take the fanbase for granted.

Agree - the right call for the show and surprised really it went that way considering how evictable one of the other nominees was. They weren't even trying to hide it in the edit that over the last couple of nights they finally showed us the side of viewers the HMs must have been seeing rather than just him being a dick, then as soon as the lines closed they showed him being a dick again.

Will be interesting to see what happens next week with multiple evictions happening for Halloween week. Personally think we might lose one of Ali or Llily.

Re: Marcello there's a fine line between keeping in a good housemate for the sake of entertainments sake vs. potentially promoting bad behaviour. His actions right now and lack of self awareness are the precursor red flags you get told about in domestic violence training.

Ali's description of the patriarchy pyramid in the house was spot on. It does happen this way in almost every season of Big Brother at some point or another. It was rather depressing to hear the crowd boo it. Everyone is feeling too uncomfortable to admit that in 2024 a BB house can still reflect old school society.

Sadly it seems they're just following exactly the same eviction pattern as last year and they'll evict someone midweek via the backdoor again, even though the twist last week meant a double eviction at the end of the week (whether in pairs or individually) would have fitted in well. Frustratingly ITV are known for just doing the same thing year in year out with their reality formats.

I think one of the girls will certainly go next - there was a big fight last night between Martha and Hanah, with most the house agreeing Martha was in the wrong. Ali and Lily will certainly be in the nominations mix as well. I don't see Marcello being nominated as the view on the inside is very different to the view on the outside. Segun perhaps the only boy at risk given the "red witch" comment went against his nice guy image.

Personally really would like Nathan out last week so that Baked Potato is back in the mix as a potential winner. Whilst he's in the house she's little more than a couch potato.

Agree the right person went. I was convinced it was going to be
Marcello
but I'm sort of glad it wasn't. Only because I didn't want
Izzaz
to float to the finale just like Thomas probably will.

I'd hate to see Lily and Ali go, I am really rooting for them both. I watched the clips of the Martha and Hanah argument, Martha really does come across as really fake and her niceness seems overly put on. I can appreciate Hanah as a character and what she brings to the show but I can't warm to her, I just find her to be too on her high horse and absolute in her opinions.

Emma, Nathan and Baked Potato are okay. Sarah has become way less negative than she was in week 1 which is good. I don't really lilke Segun, Kahled or Marcello. Dean and Thomas offer close to nothing. Ali and Lily are my rooting interests. But IDK, this group is very entertaining and make fantastic TV but they're not a very likeable bunch. No one stands out to me as a for sure winner candidate like Jordan did last year, which is a good thing though. Whereas last year the fan favourites were obvious but the cast wasn't as explosive as this years',

This cast would be really fun to watch in a strategy version of the show. Players like Ali, Hanah, Lily and even Kahled would be really interesting to see play off against each other. I still think this cast would do even better with a longer season, the storylines seem to be ever changing.

I don't really love the showmance between Baked Potato and Nathan, I like to see him more when he's disagreeing with housemate's politics or general discussions. As for her, she seems very insecure within herself and the narrative is kind of regressing her to not much more than the standard girl in the annual showmance.

Nontheless I am really enjoying this season, but I don't think the public will side with the people I like this time. Last year seemed very black and white in which side of the house the audience preffered, this year it seems a bit more hazy.

Agree it could be a much more interesting show if they actually let them play the game. I like how even someone like Lily is quite switched on to the gameside of things, but not switched on enough not to piss off HMs and viewers on a daily basis.

There are quite a few housemates who I can switch between liking and hating on a daily basis, even within an episode - Ali and Hanah especially, where I think in some cases the qualities that make you want to evict them are also the qualities that would make them a worthy winner.

I think though Sarah is being quietly consistent in the background - had a terrible first few days but once she stopped crying has been one of the most level headed in there. She seems neatly positioned in the house not to get nominated and sincere enough not to be labelled fake - it's whether she's doing enough that'll get her noticed.

Disagree with the idea an open strategy show would be better. In this version you have to be much smarter individually in how you play the game. With open strategy too many contestants have skated through on the coattails of others without really having to think about game play, just gone along with or aligned with the dominant group. I like to see how they react individually under pressure when the reality hits that this is actually a game show with a life changing prize at the end.
The Hanah conundrum is a tough one. I love her then hate her and swing back and forth but as a housemate she’s A1.
She won’t win but I also have no idea who will and that’s an odd thing for me at the halfway point.
