BBUK 2024: Returns Oct. 6th

I think it’s off to a decent start.

I can’t believe we had to endure name changes and eyebrow shaving again - who would have thought they would take one of the worst first week twists in the show’s history and do it again, but I’m finding the interactions between the housemates interesting to watch.
Decent but still not great. I struggle to get over the very obvious pacing issues caused by the launch twist and the bloated cast/series length.

Well I’m absolutely loving it! To me it’s old skool BB, and whilst yes, the male housemates are a bit “meh” so far, the female casting is superb. I’m not really bothered about the tasks, I’m here for the conversations and relationship building, so the first few episodes are doing it for me.
Maybe I’m just easily pleased after the shit we’ve been served in our version, but I really hope the Aussie producer’s are taking notes.

Having two entirely task focused episodes was a hard slog, but I enjoyed the most recent ep.

There needs to be a lad cull.

Team Ali 2 win.

That was a great episode, especially after 2 episodes with sole focus on tasks and the twist. After the utter trash that was BBAU 2023 and the strategy based BBUS season this year, it was really refreshing to watch 45 minutes of real people just having conversations.

And that was a really good episode for Lily she is really warming to me now. Her cluelessness whilst Daze and Nathan were talking politics was so funny. She feels very old school BB to me. She does come across as a tad put on at times but she is still a young girl and I feel like we got some decent complexity to her.

Am loving the neurodivergent representation from Ali. Watching her express exhaustion from the social stimuli and from having to mask was so relatable. I love love love her. She can win.

Ok almost caught up again up to the 4th episode. Lol appreciated the nods to BB10's non-housemate opening week (Baked Potato haha) but also that they put a bit of a different spin on it at the same time with them swapping sides.
I think they went too far in the dare challenge. Destroying photos is just wrong
I'd guess they were probably copies or something, but they wont give them back to said housemates for the duration, or they might reveal it was fake at a later point, cause yeah, that was kinda harsh.
I did cackle at the end when the "vote to evict" thing came up at the end of the episode and they're sticking to calling Rosie Baked Potato.
It's the same in BB10, although you could say perhaps Baked Potato is a slightly more tame name than 'Halfwit' and 'Dogface' to have to carry around for who knows how long. lol.
I personally could have done without this non housemate twist. I would have rathered the first few daily shows focused on the housemates. I feel like the first 2 daily shows were very heavy on the head to heads. I know nothing about the four nominees.
In BB10 they had the non housemate eviction within the first 3-4 days, then gave them a day or so's grace of nothing going on to re settle before an actual nominations for the first proper eviction. Here they seem to be doing a similar thing only they've let the 'non-housemate' nominees mingle into the main house for the time being until Friday.

Dogface won.
:) BBUK 10 is in my alltime top 3, loved it.

Mod Edit: Hidden BB10 spoiler as know Affiliate is currently watching it.

Also thanks for the mod edit upthread got in before I came back ;)

Tonight’s the eviction isn’t it still got ep 4 and 5 to catch up on.

Yes, eviction tonight and believe they're still kicking the interview over to Late & Live, despite the main show stealing 15 minutes from the latter. If it goes as polls seem to suggest really don't see how they could pad out an interview, especially as they're basically being evicted based on one comment in their intro VT.

Must admit after an hour of genuine interactions and interesting conversations on Wednesday with no format points Thursdays was a struggle with the entire hour basically taken up with housemates playing a role in the task (roles chosen by producers, not themselves - which really removes the potential for drama). The best two moments were two incidents where genuine issues came up, but they were somewhat lost amongst the task.

At the end of the evictees interview on Late and Live, Will and AJ said that after the break they are going to be revealing what’s going on next week and said:

“Three words: Head of House. It’s going to be massive.”

I think producers know they did him dirty. Thankfully his exit and interview wasn't as uncomfortable as some have been.

The show fell off air just as they were talking about the Head of House but will involve immunity and privileges - suspect similar to BB9, and sounds like it will run throughout the series, which is basically 4 weeks.

Also, looks like they're already have crowd-size issues and are strategically telling them where to stand to hide it. Although then they decide to use aerial shots like this...

Saw this on Reddit. Whyyyy? What do people want? Is it the Love Island effect? Does everyone only want to watch tits and arse and manufactured “romance”?

To be fair virtually every linear show is getting it's lowest ever ratings. Even BBC1 and ITV1 can go a night with no show topping 2m so in that context 465k on ITV2 is excellent.
