BBUK 2024: Returns Oct. 6th

The Aussie announcement today just highlights what a half arsed revival the ITV2 version of Big Brother actually is. Really struggling to get hyped for it.
I feel you. Seems to me that they’ve not learned a single thing from the first series. There were strides made in the right direction but it was far from perfect. Keeping the series at 6 weeks is the most glaring issue I have with ITV’s direction. Also clearly pushing CBB over the civilian series reeks of poor decision making.

That said the 10 announcement is only a step or two ahead of where ITV were and with at least a year until it launches there’s still plenty of time for questionable decisions to be made.

As it stands, it is a shame that no strides have been taken to build upon the success of last year. It's good press for the show too - when you reward a show that's done well with exciting expansions, it tells the wider audience that it's something worth investing in.

Maybe it will be a good series, but I can also see it being a carbon copy of last year, which in the long run isn't something that the show will be able to sustain.

I think it’s pretty clear that all the pre-series talk about ITV’s revival was them fleshing out their “concepts of a plan” instead of an indication that they actually had a plan for the show. Launching 14 months after the initial announcement didn’t help either.

10’s announcement including things like live nominations/evictions and confirming the new host does give some hope they have more of a vision.

What’s the current status of the site where the house is? Did they take down the yard between seasons or is it still standing and being remodelled?

I'm just not feeling any hype for it this year for some reason. Dunno why.

Will probably still watch though.

The advert with the guinea pigs is a good advert, but that seems to be the start and the end of the "campaign".

With only 5 days to go, it's a stark contrast to where we were last year. I know that was a new launch on a new channel, but still, it's a very poor effort on itv's part.

With October 6th fast approaching I recommend anyone with a Firestick or an Android/Google TV Box download the UK Turks app. Don’t know how quickly episodes will be available but should be a decent resource for those watching daily. Message me for further instructions.

I'm getting excited for this. BBUS had a pretty good run for a big chunk of its 26th season this year, and whilst I don't anticipate anything amazing from this 6 week mini series I am still looking forward to more BB nonetheless.

So keen to see Will again each week.

So money has clearly been spent here, because a lot has "changed", but that doesn't mean it looks particularly different.

I would hope that the Diary Room chair has changed - having the same one but in different colours/ with paint splats behind it won't be the same for me.

Was always going to be the case.

Well, I wasn't expecting a completely new layout.. they haven't changed the layout that much in the Channel 5 days anyways and lots of international versions recycle their layout, too. But I was expecting more than US levels of throwing new paint on it... I was expecting them to make it feel different.

hmmm yeah its kinda whelming but some things looks to have slightly changed in shape and stuff I guess so at least thats something, and also the garden will be a bit different apparently then again and larger wasn't it so we'll see.

It's that yellow staircase which lets the whole thing down and makes it quite garish. The kitchen, bathroom and garden are nice enough but overall it's one ugly house.
